Former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen believes that the pay dispute between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul should be pretty easy to end if the former is telling the truth.

YouTube star Paul met boxing legend Mayweather in-between the ropes last June at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The exhibition bout, dubbed “Bragging Rights,” reportedly attracted one million pay-per-view buys on Showtime and generated a $50 million revenue.

But despite the apparent financial success of the non-scored, eight-round contest, the topic of conversation since has surrendered accusations that the man known as “Money” hasn’t been dishing the right cash out.

Paul has repeatedly claimed that Mayweather hasn’t paid him correctly for the exhibition fight, even suggesting that he’s going to take the undefeated legend to court. This week, Mayweather hit back during a press conference for his next appearance in the ring, which will come under the Rizin banner in Japan.

Having seen Mayweather brand Paul’s claims as “bullish*t,” combat sports vet Chael Sonnen has questioned why the 45-year-old hasn’t proved it.

During a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Sonnen discussed Paul, who he described as “sincere,” and his ongoing dispute with Mayweather.

While not accusing either man of lying, Sonnen, who has previously urged the former professional boxer to pay Paul anything he is owed before the FBI get involved, did suggest that it would be very easy for Mayweather to prove if he was indeed telling the truth.

“This is a hot topic… I don’t know the Paul brothers, but I sure do take them as sincere guys,” said Sonnen. “Logan is saying that he was not paid… That is now being filed in a courtroom, or so I am told. So Logan is very sincere. He’s not wasting his time… He’s just looking to get paid… That’s extremely reasonable.

“Now, Floyd finally did weigh in on this…. He said, ‘He has been paid. I don’t know why keeps saying he hasn’t, he has been paid.’ … Now, this is real easy. This is real, real easy. You got any kind of a banking app, you can pull that up in, I don’t know, 15 seconds,” Sonnen continued. “You would just show the transfer, ‘Boom, it’s right there,’ or you would show the cash check… ‘Look, he was paid, the end.’”

Given that the accusations remain in the mainstream circuit, and even drew questions during the presser for his upcoming exhibition contest, Sonnen admitted his surprise that Mayweather isn’t backing up his claims with evidence in order to end the issue.

“He’s saying he wasn’t paid, Floyd’s saying he was. Well that’s extremely provable. But Floyd didn’t prove it. He didn’t have an interest in proving it,” said Sonnen. “That is extremely easy to prove and he has not done that. When you are questioning a man’s integrity to the point it’s interfering with a press conference… you would think he’d like to solve this problem? … That hasn’t been done.”

Whether this hits the courtroom or not remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like Logan Paul will be fighting tooth and nail to receive what he believes he is owed.

Boxing Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather wants to add an NBA Basketball franchise to his financial portfolio in the future.

Mayweather has a house in the Las Vegas, NV area, which is rumored to be a potential target for NBA expansion in the coming years. Seattle is another city that has been starving for an NBA franchise ever since the SuperSonics left town nearly 20 years ago for Oklahoma City.

Mayweather, who is an avid basketball fan seen at NBA games in cities such as Los Angeles and Miami, teased that a plan is in the works for him to become an owner of an NBA team.

As he gets ready to make his boxing return in an exhibition against mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura, Mayweather hinted that ownership could come to fruition sooner rather than later.

“I can’t say exactly where, but I’m working on getting a team,” Mayweather said at a recent press conference.

Mayweather also clarified that the team wouldn’t have to be in Las Vegas, according to Sam Gordon of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Mayweather was recently inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame this month alongside top names such as Andre Ward and Holly Holm. He retired from professional boxing following his win over UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017.

Mayweather has competed in exhibitions ever since, including most recently against Logan Paul and Don Moore.

Mayweather isn’t a stranger to sports ownership. He owns a NASCAR racing team called The Money Team Racing and the chances of him becoming an NBA owner seem plausible.

Fresh off of his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Floyd Mayweather is ready to get right back in the ring in another exhibition.

Mayweather recently shined in his most recent performance against Don Moore last month in what was his third exhibition bout.

In his first exhibition in 2018, he defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa via first-round TKO. And last year, Logan Paul gave Mayweather his toughest challenge in an exhibition bout, going the distance against the Hall of Famer and remaining competitive in the fight. However, according to Paul, the much tougher fight has been getting Mayweather to pay him for the event.

For his next exhibition, Mayweather announced during a Monday press conference that he will be competing against MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura on a RIZIN card this September with the exact date to be later determined.

As mentioned, Mayweather was inducted into the International Hall of Fame over the weekend. During his acceptance speech, Mayweather was moved to tears. If you missed it, you can watch the full speech here.

As a professional, Mayweather’s record is a well-known and much-celebrated 50-0. His last professional fight was against none other than MMA’s very own Conor McGregor in 2017.

As for Asakura, his last professional bout was at Rizin 33 last December when he defeated Yutaka Saito via unanimous decision. His professional MMA record is 16-3, but he has never competed in boxing before.

When more information about this event becomes available, MMA News will bring you all the latest!

Former professional boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather is slated to return to the squared circle for the second time this year as part of another exhibition – with the Missouri native set to feature at a Rizin FF event in Japan in December of this year – as per an official press released provided this Saturday afternoon.

Floyd Mayweather, 45, retired from professional boxing back in 2017 following a tenth round knockout win over former undisputed UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, Conor McGregor – improving his undefeated professional record to 50-0.

Floyd Mayweather featured in an exhibition boxing match last month in the UAE

In the time since his retirement, however, Mayweather has featured in three exhibition matchups – the most recent of which in Abu Dhabi, UAE in May where he fought over the course of eight round against Don Moore on Yas Island.

In August of last year, Floyd Mayweather met with YouTuber and podcast host, Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida – once more fighting over the course of eight rounds against the Ohio native with an official result undisclosed.

Back in 2018 under the Rizin FF banner, Mayweather fought kickboxing talent, Tenshin Nasukawa in a lucrative boxing match on New Year’s Eve – defeating the 23-year-old Japan native with a first round knockout.

With an opponent for Mayweather’s next boxing venture set to be announced next week, the Grand Rapids veteran has been linked to some notable, high-profile matchups in recent weeks.

One potential opponent who seems to be off the cards, however, is the undefeated Jake Paul – who confirmed last night that he would return to professional boxing for his sixth fight on August 6. at Madison Square Garden – in tandem with decorated puncher, Amanda Serrano on the same headlining doubleheader.

Last year, Floyd Mayweather was officially inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021.

Undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul has set sights on former sport world champion, Floyd Mayweather – as well as former UFC middleweight kingpin, Anderson Silva – welcoming a fight against the two in the exact same night, following their exhibition boxing match exploits in Abu Dhabi, UAE this weekend.

Mayweather, who retired from the sport boasting an undefeated 50-0 professional record with a win over former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor in 2017, featured in another high-profile exhibition bout against Don Moore atop a Middle East card last night – turning in a one-sided victory.

For Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion and one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, also featured in a special exhibition matchup against Bruno Machado, dropping his compatriot with a fifth round knockdown as he turned in an impressive boxing display

Ohio native, Paul, on the other hand, is targeting an August return to professional boxing, after landing his fifth professional victory in the form of a massive knockout rematch win against former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley back in December of last year in Florida.

Jake Paul invites same night fights with Floyd Mayweather and Anderson Silva

Sharing his thoughts on the exhibition matchup featuring both Mayweather and Silva, Jake Paul claimed he would defeat both former world champions in the same night.

“I would beat Floyd (Mayweather) and Anderson (Silva) in the same night,” Jake Paul tweeted.

Mayweather, of course, shared the squared circle with Jake Paul’s elder brother, Logan Paul last year in another high-profile exhibition matchup – which followed another exhibition bout for Mayweather where he stopped decorated kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa with a first round knockout in December 2019.

Over the course of his professional career, Paul holds a split decision win over Woodley to go with his aforenoted knockout triumph, as well as other notable knockout wins over both Ben Askren, and Nate Robinson.

Floyd Mayweather put on a show for the crowd in Abu Dhabi during his exhibition boxing match with Don Moore on Saturday.

“Money” was in classic form during his eight-round exhibition bout. During the first two rounds of the contest, we saw Mayweather playing it safe, walking backward, defending, and counterstriking. Once into the third round, Mayweather began to open things up, pressuring Moore to the ropes and throwing everything in his arsenal.

By the time we got to the halfway point of the contest, Mayweather was having the time of his life. “Money” could be seen dancing and assisting the ring card girl between rounds. Mayweather even got a rise out of the commentary team by directly responding to their comments mid-fight.

“This is one of the things Floyd does best by the way, his psychological warfare,” said one member of the broadcast team.

Mayweather without hesitation responds by saying, “I do do that,” causing the commentary booth to erupt into laughter.

Floyd Mayweather Continued to Entertain the Crowd and Himself Between Rounds in Abu Dhabi

Floyd Mayweather was in full “Money” mode at that point, putting on a show for the crowd and entertaining himself. It didn’t stop there as following the sixth round, Mayweather decided to assist the ring card girl by taking the ‘Round 7’ card and walking it around the ring for the crowd to see.

When he wasn’t busy talking to the commentary team and giving a helping hand to the ring card girl, Mayweather was practicing his dance moves between rounds.

While Moore survived the full eight rounds, it was clear that he did not have the tools to take on arguably the greatest boxer of all time. Despite his antics in the ring, Floyd Mayweather got the job done in an impressive fashion and teased a return to Abu Dhabi in the future.

“I told the fans I’m here to entertain, have fun,” Mayweather said. “I will bring another fight here this year. Absolutely. It’s a secret. I don’t want to let the cat out the bag right now but we have an opponent.”
