The schedule for the world press tour leading up to Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Conor McGregor on Aug. 26 was officially released on Friday.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto tweeted a listing of events:

The tour will go from July 11 through July 14 with stops in Los Angeles, Toronto, Brooklyn and London.

While there has been plenty of hoopla surrounding the upcoming superfight, the tour will mark the first time Mayweather and McGregor have come face to face publicly.

Both combatants are known for their physical dominance in their respective crafts, but they are also among the most brash and confident talkers in all of sports.

Mayweather and McGregor are experts at promoting their fights as well, which is precisely what they figure to do during a series of press conferences.

At 49-0, Mayweather is one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers of all time, but he may have ring rust to contend with, having not fought since 2015.

Although McGregor is the current UFC lightweight champion, his lack of boxing experience figures to put him at a significant disadvantage.

Despite the fact that the fight appears to be a mismatch on paper, the excitement surrounding it is apparent, and both Mayweather and McGregor promise to drum up even more interest on the tour.

TMZ Sports reported Friday that Gervonta Davis will compete in the co-main event of the Aug. 26 card Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor headline.

While Davis’ opponent has yet to be determined, the 22-year-old rising star said it has been narrowed down to two possibilities.

Davis is a perfect 18-0 with 17 knockouts, including a third-round decimation of Brit Liam Walsh in May to retain the IBF junior lightweight title.

The Baltimore native fights under the Mayweather Promotions umbrella.

Mayweatherpromotions.com notes this on Davis:

“In early 2014, Gervonta Davis signed with boxing manager/advisor Al Haymon. In June of 2015, Davis met Floyd Mayweather during one of Adrien Broner’s training camps. Later that year, he went on to sign with Mayweather Promotions…

“… In the future, Davis hopes to capture world titles and make millions of dollars inside the boxing ring so that he can achieve financial stability through business deals outside the ring that will enable him to take care of his family and motivate young people from similar backgrounds to believe in their dreams.”

Per TMZ, “Gervonta says he’s been training his ass off with Floyd and says he’s confident he can knock out McGregor, too!”

Mayweather and McGregor…

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will have their first press conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 11 for their highly anticipated fight.

Tickets for the press conference will go on sale Friday at 3 p.m. ET.

Mayweather and McGregor are set to battle Aug. 26 in Paradise, Nevada.

The duo will have a long publicity tour for the bout, including a trip to London for a press conference in Wembley Stadium, per Richard Conway of BBC Sport.

Fans can expect a lot of this type of promotion with the matchup expected to be one of the biggest boxing events in history. According to Keith Idec of Boxing Scene, Mayweather is expecting to take home at least $100 million in the bout, with McGregor getting at least $75 million.

Mayweather is undefeated in 49 bouts in his boxing career and is coming out of retirement for this matchup, which would represent a big enough draw regardless of opponent. However, McGregor adds to the intrigue as one of the biggest stars in the UFC. And he’s attempting to make the conversion to boxing against one of the best fighters in the history of the sport.

The bout itself should be memorable, but the press conferences will be fun as well with the way each competitor likes to trash-talk.

According to OddsShark, Mayweather is listed as a -650 favorite with McGregor coming in as a +425 underdog.

With two cards in the next two days, the UFC may have a busy week planned this week, but it’s still clear that the main focus of the combat sports world is fixated on August 26’s mega boxing fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

The two icons of their respective fight sports will go to war from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and if you want a seat at the late-summer spectacular, you’re obviously going to have to pony up a tidy sum to even get close to the action. That’s to be expected, of course, but according to a report from Bloody Elbow, just how expensive the hot tickets are might make even the most healthily-bankrolled fans blush.

The far-off upper tier seats start off at $2537, with the middle tier commanding a $5028 price tag that rises to $6502 in the next section. Prices rise dramatically from there, however, soon reaching $12,808, but the true wallet-breaking prices obviously come at the floor level. There, a starting ticket price of $22,288 makes way for a steep price for a seat ranging anywhere from $23,000 to $80,000, with floor seats next to the ring costing a whopping $98,500.

Here’s a floor plan of the arena and ticket prices via the T-Mobile Arena website:

The hyped mega-bout is set to break several lucrative box office records, and that’s lead to the inevitable comparisons to Mayweather’s largely derided boxing “fight of the century” against longtime rival Manny Pacquiao in 2015. Prior to that long-overdue match that provided fans with a highly lackluster letdown in terms of action, secondhand market ticket sales reached a jaw-dropping $351,005.25 mark for a ringside floor seat just seven days out from the fight.

A similar result could play out for this fight, prompting ticket prices to rise to never-before-seen levels as hype for the spectacular bout swells with fight time looming.

The cash-focused “Money” and “Notorious” wouldn’t have it any other way.
