Many combat sports fans have criticized Jake Paul for the opponents that he tends to face when stepping inside the ring.

Whilst the amount of experience he has means that he can’t be expected to take on top tier opponents, he tends to fight opponents that shouldn’t be in there with him.

Paul also has a track record for calling out some of the biggest names despite there being very little chance that the fight would actually come together.

This was once again the case following his recent win over Mike Perry, where he called out one of the biggest stars in the UFC right now, light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

Pereira unsurprisingly instantly responded but Dana White hasn’t given the idea much thought.

Dana White Says He Doesn’t Think About Jake Paul Anymore

In a recent interview with TNT Sports, White was asked whether this is something he would consider just to silence Paul once and for all by putting the Pereira fight together.

The UFC boss has been very open about his dislike for what “The Problem Child” is doing in combat sports and therefore hasn’t been paying much attention.

He made it clear that giving Pereira a pass to go and box Paul isn’t an option that has ever been thought about because White tapped out of caring about the social media star’s boxing career long ago.

“I haven’t even talked to Perry in a long time and I didn’t even know Jake Paul was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy, I had no idea. There’s all these stories that were written, it’s ridiculous. I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to Fury, you know what I mean. It’s like when he fought somebody that was his age and actually boxed, he lost and I’m not s******* on the kid, I don’t even think about him anymore.

“It doesn’t even cross my mind. I have no beef with him. ‘They’re trying to get me assassinated’. Nobody’s trying to get you assassinated especially, listen, I respect Perry. Smaller, older, I mean it’s the same blueprint that they’re fighting older, smaller guys that, it’s just I literally don’t even think about him anymore. It’s all b*******.”

Mike Perry may have been unsuccessful in his fight with Jake Paul but he still received praise for his toughness.

“Platinum” may not be an experienced boxer or someone that can match Paul for size but he was always going to be a tough opponent to get out of there.

He did eventually get stopped in the sixth round but as expected with someone like Perry, many would have crumbled much earlier on.

What makes this even more impressive, and something that Perry is able to take out of this fight, is that he was compromised from the very first punch that his opponent landed.

Mike Perry Reveals That Jake Paul Broke His Rib With The First Punch That He Landed

Perry appeared on BS w/ Jake Paul where they spoke about the fight and revealed new details about how it all went down.

During the podcast, the former UFC fighter said that he is going to take some time off for his rib to recover after it was broken in the opening 10 seconds of the fight.

He said that he was so focused on keeping his hands up that it left an opening for Paul which he successfully took advantage of from the opening bell.

With his body badly injured, Perry was forced to drop his guard which left him more susceptible to head strikes which eventually closed the show on him.

“First 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me. Because look, I knew people were going to be like, ‘Put your hands up,’ Right, so I come out and I’m like this with my hands up and my rib was wide open. You hit me in the rib and I was like, ‘F*** that’s it, I’m putting my hands down.’ You popped it right away and I fought through it I mean there’s something, there’s pieces I can take that I can be proud of but you know, I think it was fair and square.”

After banking his 10th career win in boxing, Jake Paul wants to test out his skills in the world of MMA.

In January 2023, ‘The Problem Child’ signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League to help the promotion launch its anticipated Super Fight series on pay-per-view. Since then, it’s been pretty much radio silent regarding Paul’s PFL debut, but it looks like the YouTube star may have finally found a dance partner for his big premiere in the Smart Cage.

Taking to social media following his sixth-round TKO against the BKFC’s undisputed ‘King of Violence’ Mike Perry in Tampa, Jake Paul revealed that the two have already agreed to run it back under the PFL banner “when the time is right.”

Jake Paul

“Chopped it up with Mike Perry last night. What a stand up dude. More confidence than most of these fighters. We agreed to run it in PFL when the time is right,” Paul wrote on X.”

Asked about running it back with Perry in bare-knuckle, Paul made it clear that if he’s going to temporarily leave boxing behind, it’ll be for MMA, though he did leave the door open for a fight with ‘Platinum’ in the BKFC star’s new Dirty Boxing Championship promotion.

“If I’m stepping out of boxing, it’s going to be PFL,” Paul added. After that we can do Dirty Boxing.

Mike Perry Launches New Dirty Boxing Promotion

According to Perry, Dirty Boxing Championship will feature hybrid rules bouts that mix the striking of boxing with five-ounce gloves and limited ground-and-pound. Elbows and open-palm strikes will also be allowed according to Perry.

“This promotion has been in the works for over a year, and we started this because of my success in bare-knuckle,” Perry said at a press event. “I feel there that are many great fighters and athletes out there that would like to compete in something like this but don’t exactly want to compete in bare-knuckle and take the gloves off. There are a couple names that come to mind” (h/t MMA Fighting).

DBC bouts will be held in a smaller 18-foot ring and feature three three-minute rounds, with five rounds for championship fights.

Weigh classes are expected to mirror MMA’s traditional divisions with a launch date being targeted for September or October, though no official broadcast deal has been announced.

“I think this rule set is going to be the most exciting thing for the casual fan base that’s been put together,” said Josh McLean of Kanpai Media.

Jake Paul Reveals Verbal Agreement With Mike Perry To Rematch In PFL, Dirty Boxing Down The Line

Jake Paul recently agreed in principle to a rematch with Mike Perry, which could first take place in PFL and then in “Platinum’s” new hybrid boxing promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship, at some point in the future.

“The Problem Child” delivered three knockdowns against the BKFC standout en route to sealing the victory with a relentless onslaught that resulted in a sixth-round TKO this past Saturday at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Paul was initially set to face boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20. However, after “Iron Mike” suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight in May and was declared medically unfit, Perry answered the call to compete on short notice.

During the lead-up to their bout, the YouTuber-turned-boxer expressed a keen interest in potentially facing “Platinum” in either MMA or a bare-knuckle fight, determined to prove that he could defeat the former UFC welterweight fighter in any discipline.

However, in an interview with Ariel Helwani earlier this month, Perry dismissed the notion that Paul would ever seriously consider removing the gloves and facing him in a bare-knuckle fight.

Perry is anticipated to make his comeback to BKFC unless the promotion’s new co-owner, Conor McGregor, decides to act on his threat to fire him. Regardless, Perry’s future looks promising in combat sports, and it’s likely why Paul is eager for a rematch with him…

Paul Overlooks BKFC Fight with Perry Eyes PFL or Dirty Boxing Instead

“The Problem Child” recently took to X to shower Perry with praise for their boxing match, revealing that they have verbally agreed to a rematch under MMA rules in the PFL at an opportune moment.

“Chopped it up with Mike Perry last night. What a stand-up dude. More confidence than most of these fighters. We agreed to run it in PFL when the time is right.” Paul tweeted.

A fan commented on Paul’s post, questioning why the 27-year-old Ohio native didn’t consider fighting under bare-knuckle rules. Paul replied:

“If I’m stepping out of boxing, it’s going to be PFL. After that, we can do Dirty Boxing @PlatinumPerry”

In January 2023, Paul revealed that he had inked a deal with the PFL to compete in the special super-fight division. However, he has not yet to make his MMA debut, as his primary focus remains on his boxing career.

What Happened to Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul?

Amid all the recent fiasco regarding Jake Paul’s surprising and gutsy call out of UFC wrecking machine, Alex Pereira off the back of his latest venture to the squared-circle, fans have been left scratching their heads – asking ‘What Happened to Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul?’ Well, below, we’ll give you the rundown.

Initially scheduled to take place just last weekend – July 20. in Texas, however, outspoken Ohio native, Paul ended up standing opposite a different opponent that night in Tampa – in the form of another former UFC contender, recently-turned BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) poster boy, Mike Perry

And laying waste to Perry with a slew of knockdowns en route to an eventual sixth round win on the feet, Paul then grabbed the microphone and stressed his desire to face off with light heavyweight kingpin, Pereira – going as far as to Facetiming the Brazilian in the center of the ring.

So let’s break down why Paul didn’t face Tyson in the ring last weekend in ‘The Lone Star State’ – and more importantly, when are they likely to face off in their grudge match.

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Removed from a pairing with Jake Paul at the end of May earlier this annum, veteran former world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson was involved in a medical emergency whilst boarding a flight, experiencing an ulcer flare – leading to the postponement of the bout officially.

However, just a week later, Most Valuable Promotions revealed that Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul would now be rescheduled to take place later this year on November 15. from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas – to much fan fervor and discourse.

Out of acton from professional boxing since a 2005 return to the ring to take on Kevin McBride in an eventual knockout loss, former undisputed world heavyweight champion, Tyson’s most recent trip to the ring came in the form of an exhibition bout with fellow former world titleholder, Roy Jones Jr. four years ago, with the two fighting to a split draw in a bout scored by the WBC.

When is Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul?

So at the time of publication, despite Paul’s infatuation regarding a fight with the previously mentioned, Pereira – all signs continue to point to a reworked matchup with Brooklyn veteran, Tyson on November 15. in a massive Netflix broadcasted event.

In regards to other fights on the undercard of the blockbuster event featuring Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, initially former world champion striker, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was booked to take on another former UFC title challenger, Darren Till – however, the Mexican featured just last weekend in a win over yet another Octagon alum, Uriah Hall.

And with the pairing of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson still on the cards for a November matchup in Arlington, the former’s quest to earn himself a legitimate shot at a world championship belt – under one of numerous governing bodies may come as soon as next year – and much quicker than critics have predicted.

Jake Paul wants 'Tougher challenge' than Conor McGregor

Amid their recent squabble across social media, outspoken professional boxing star Jake Paul has now claimed that he wants to eventually take on a “tougher challenge” than former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor.

Paul, who improved to 10-1 as a professional over the course of last weekend in Florida, landing a sixth round knockout win over former UFC welterweight contender, Mike Perry in their professional boxing grudge fight.

And with his tenth boxing win in tow, Paul shocked the audience and fans online alike – staking his claim for a matchup with undisputed light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira – appearing to fancy his chances in a boxing matchup with the Brazilian knockout star.

“I want everybody, I love this sport and he’s (Alex Pereira) tweeted about wanting to go into boxing,” Jake Paul said after his win over Mike Perry. “We got him on a Facetime right there in the ring and I said, ‘Yo, can you get out of your [UFC] contract?’”

“That’s too big of a risk if I can embarrass his (Dana White’s) number one praised fighter right now,” Jake Paul explained. “But I want all the smoke, I want all the MMA guys, and I’ve beaten all of them – who’s next? He’s the king right now of the UFC so I want him, I’m going to decapitate him and dethrone him.”

Jake Paul calls for “tougher” fight than Conor McGregor

Receiving stark accusations of steroid use from the above-mentioned, McGregor – who also questioned why his advisor and business partner, Nakisa Badarian limited Paul from fighting in Las Vegas, the latter has now labelled a previously clamored-for fight with the Dubliner as not tough enough.

“The guy’s on Twitter, the guy’s on yachts but the guy’s not in the ring winning fights like me,” Jake Paul said on his podcast. “He won’t fight me, I’ve said it since a long time ago. Conor McGregor is owned by Dana White, he probably can’t get out of his contract but that’s what he will hide behind because he’s not going to get in there. All the sh*t talk but he won’t put it on the line, and I want a tougher challenge than McGregor, f*ck McGregor, I want Alex Pereira, the light-heavyweight champion.

“Everyone says everything about the weight difference but I was 212lb in the ring, so that’s a 10lb difference which is common in boxing. Alex Pereira rehydrates to 240lb so I want someone who, when I f*ck them up like I did tonight, there are no excuses. Alex Pereira is six foot four, 240lb, kickboxing world champion, two division champion in UFC and when i beat him what the f*** can they say? Keep writing me off, that’s what people have done in every facet of my life since I was eight years old. I can’t be stopped.”

Do you think Jake Paul ever shares the ring with Conor McGregor?
