Kamaru Usman 'I’m not completely counting Jake Paul out' against Alex Pereira

Following his controversial callout of UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira off the back of his latest professional boxing win last weekend, Jake Paul has been backed to potentially cause a massive upset for the ages against the Brazilian, by Octagon veteran Kamaru Usman.

Paul, who scored his tenth professional boxing win over the course of last weekend in Tampa, landed knockdowns aplenty against former UFC welterweight contender, Mike Perry in ‘The Sunshine State; – en route to a blistering sixth round knockout win.

And in the immediate aftermath of his triumph, polarizing striker, Paul called for a fight with former duel-weight UFC champion, Pereira, claiming a matchup between the duo makes sense given their alleged similar stature.

I want everybody, I love this sport and he’s (Alex Pereira) tweeted about wanting to go into boxing,” Jake Paul said after his win over Mike Perry. “We got him on a Facetime right there in the ring and I said, ‘Yo, can you get out of your [UFC] contract?’”

“That’s too big of a risk if I can embarrass his (Dana White’s) number one praised fighter right now,” Jake Paul explained. “But I want all the smoke, I want all the MMA guys, and I’ve beaten all of them – who’s next? He’s the king right now of the UFC so I want him, I’m going to decapitate him and dethrone him.”

Jake Paul potentially beats Alex Pereira, per Kamaru Usman

And while Pereira appears to be receptive to a potential boxing move to take on Ohio native, Paul – many have labelled any potential pairing of the duo as a farce, however, the above-mentioned, Usman boldly claims a matchup is not a totally foregone conclusion in favor of the Brazilian.

Jake Paul confident of win over Alex Pereira when I beat him what will they say then?

“I do believe Alex Pereira can win that fight, but I don’t think it’s an unwinnable fight for Jake Paul,” Kamaru Usman said on his podcast. Jake Paul definitely showed some really good things there, being able to stick by the jab. When he was able to commit to the jab, the jab was working. Yes, I know Alex Pereira is very good at doing the thing that gave Mike Perry success in that fight, but Alex Pereira also holds his hands very low.

“Yes, he has a mean left hook, but he also holds his hands very low. That head moves when he’s slipping and ripping, but other than that, it’s not like it’s constantly moving. It’s not constantly doing what a boxer’s head movement should be doing. So, I’m not completely counting Jake Paul out.”

Who do you think wins a future boxing match: Jake Paul or Alex Pereira?

Sean O’Malley Thinks That Mike Perry Beats Jake Paul In Bare-Knuckle Boxing: ‘He’s The King Of That Sport’

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley wasn’t impressed by what he saw from Mike Perry this past weekend in his boxing clash with Jake Paul.

Many expected that “Platinum” could prove to be a tough night for Paul because of his unwavering toughness and mentality but this wasn’t to be the case as he was stopped in the sixth round.

BKFC’s “King of Violence” certainly showed grit on Saturday night but his ability to take damage and keep on coming only got him so far.

Despite feeling like Perry looked somewhat of place in the ring with Paul, O’Malley did reaffirm that there’s a good reason for that.

Sean O’Malley Says That Mike Perry Was Fighting Out Of His Comfort Zone Against Jake Paul

Perry may have been different to Paul’s previous opponents in that he’s an active fighter that isn’t past his prime, but his lack of boxing experience, combined with a size difference between the two men, was simply too much for “Platinum” to overcome.

O’Malley did say that for how the fight ended up going for Perry, you can’t be too surprised given that he was out of his comfort zone in this fight to some degree.

The former UFC fighter has been incredibly successful in BKFC but removing the gloves changes everything specifically in regards to defense and shot selection.

O’Malley spoke on a recent episode of the TimboSugarShow about how just because Perry was outmatched on Saturday night, it doesn’t mean he couldn’t beat Paul if they were to fight in his more natural environment.

“The thing is Mike Perry would probably beat Jake Paul in bare knuckle boxing, that’s where Mike Perry is the f****** man, that’s where he is the champ. He’s the king of that sport so for him to come over into boxing, I didn’t expect too much. I’ve never seen Mike Perry hands up, throw a beautiful 1-2, slip, like that’s not really his style. He definitely didn’t look great.”

“Are you kidding me?" Kayla Harrison comments on Jake Paul vs. Alex Pereira

Kayla Harrison isn’t interested in seeing Jake Paul fight — unless it’s against Alex Pereira.

‘The Problem Child’ added another big win to his resume on July 20, scoring a sixth-round TKO against the BKFC’s undisputed ‘King of Violence’ Mike Perry in Tampa, Florida. Immediately following the fight, Paul called for a boxing match with Alex Pereira, the UFC’s reigning light heavyweight world champion.

“Alex Pereira, you said you want to box, I’m the king of this,” Paul shouted from the ring. “Come over, we can make it happen. I want you Alex Pereira. I just beat a BKFC champion. I beat multiple UFC champions. He said he wants to box. Alex Pereira, after Mike Tyson, let’s make it happen.”

Offering her take on the callout during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the two-time Olympic gold medalist was all-in on seeing the YouTuber-turned-boxer throw hands with ‘Poatan’ inside the squared circle.

“Are you kidding me? That is a Jake Paul fight I would go to,” Harrison said enthusiastically. “One hook lands … Dude, I grappled with Alex, he’s a strong mother trucker … He’s trying to steal some aura.”

Considering he Facetimed ‘The Problem Child’ while he was still standing in the ring on Saturday night, it certainly seems like Alex Pereira is on board. Now they just need to get Uncle Dana to sign off.

Much easier said than done.

Kayla Harrison has nothing but love for jake paul’s next opponent

With his fight against ‘Platinum’ in the books, Jake Paul will now turn his attention toward an anticipated, though somewhat controversial scrap with the baddest man on the planet, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The two were originally set to square off on Saturday, but a medical emergency in May forced Tyson to take some time away from training.

As a result, their fight was pushed back to November 15. As before, the generational clash will emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and air live on Netflix.

Jake Paul

Kayla Harrison previously met ‘Iron’ Mike during an appearance on his ‘Hotboxin’ podcast and had nothing, but pleasant things to say about the living legend.

“To spend time and share time with a true … he’s a living legend, it was a humbling experience,” Harrison said in an interview with Insider. “We went pretty deep, which I wasn’t expecting. I learned so much — it was awesome.”

Michael Bisping Jake Paul Conor McGregor

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has unloaded on Jake Paul after he took a jab at Conor McGregor.

Paul scored a knockout win over Mike Perry over the weekend in a dominating performance as he dropped Perry three times. It was a solid performance and after the win, he took a jab at McGregor saying he ducked a fight against him.

After Paul’s comment, Bisping took to social media to blast the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer after his comments about McGregor.

“The ‘little leprechaun’ [very original by the way] is one of the greatest fighters the UFC has ever seen. But he also won the featherweight title. Do your thing. But please for f*** sake stop trying to sound tough. Fight a boxer d****** or at least someone your size bully boy,” Bisping wrote on social media.

Bisping has taken aim at Paul in the past, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that he once again criticized ‘The Problem Child’ after his latest comments about McGregor.

Conor McGregor Rips Jake Paul After Win Over Mike Perry

After Jake Paul defeated Mike Perry on Saturday in Tampa Bay, Conor McGregor took to social media to blast the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

McGregor also said Perry was fired from BKFC, as the Irishman has become a part owner of the promotion

“Jake Paul is the biggest pissbag I have ever seen in my life. 40 pound weight difference, juiced out of his head, and still shitting himself in there. Nakisa you should take him to Vegas oh that’s right you could never, the athletic commission testing, real testing, real fighting. Bitch asses. You could never. And then calling out 60year old Mike Tyson fresh off an in flight medical emergency? I swear to god, a fat can of bitch piss. Most valuable pissbag. Hey Mike youre released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You’re fired. @bareknucklefc,” McGregor wrote on X.

There is no love lost between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor as Paul has continued to say he will box the Irishman before their careers are up.
