Nate Diaz Jake Paul fight

Stockton’s own Nate Diaz has been there and done that in the combat sports world and is not interested in fake antics to sell his fight with Jake Paul on August 5th.

The youtube sensation turned pro boxer Jake Paul has been very public with his disappointment in Diaz’s assistance in selling their fight. Paul arranged a press conference before the fight in hopes of capturing some viral moments on film, and Diaz showed up not looking to partake in drama or give the fans any ridiculous moments like the ones he is so known and loved for.

It makes sense, as the Diaz brand is built on authenticity. The brothers had a rough upbringing, and while they later on in life became famous for their attitudes and hilarious antics, none of those moments were staged. In Nate Diaz’s mind, Paul wants him to fake beef and give fans fake moments they can dramatize to help sell the fight. At this point in his legendary career, that’s just something Diaz is unwilling to do.

Nate Diaz speaks on his upcoming fight with Jake Paul and responds to the disappointment Paul has for his attempts to sell the fight

“That’s his problem,” Nate Diaz began, talking to ESPN. “I don’t really — I think my fighting promotes as it is, promotes my fights. I’m not gonna get into a little kid argument with the guy and act like we’re any realer than it is. It don’t get no realer than this anyway.”

“I don’t need to act like it’s … I don’t talk a bunch of s— like he wants to do, I don’t want to stay and talk s— and go back and forth. He said something about me at the press conference and I’m like, I wasn’t there for no argument. I didn’t even want to go to no press conference to argue with nobody. Like, if we’re gonna argue, we’re gonna fight. So lets just stay the f— away from each other until the fight. Pardon my language.”

Many think that Jake Paul has a few tricks up his sleeve for their fight week in Texas. Both Paul and Nate Diaz will be there for media scrums and other obligations, and many think Paul is going to purposefully try and antagonize Diaz to cause some viral moments. Wether or not this actually comes to fruition is yet to be seen.

“I’m ready for everything,” Diaz continued. “I’m ready to go to war right now and I’m ready to be cool until it’s time to fight. I don’t care. I’m at a point in my career where I’m not trying to scare anybody, I’m not trying to fool anybody. If people want to watch, that’d be great. If they don’t, that’s fine too. That’s where he got me twisted. I’m not in this gimmick fight with him. I only need him to know that I’ll whup his ass, I don’t need the whole world. I don’t need to go begging to watch. Don’t watch.”

The boxing community at large is actually of the stance that Diaz will essentially be a lamb getting led to slaughter when he and Paul fight on August 5th. They’ve been very critical of leaked sparring footage, and even Diaz’s own training partners aren’t too impressed with the MMA legend’s skills.

“It comes with the territory,” Nate Diaz said in response to this. “I know boxing dudes and boxing gyms, they’re kind of ignorant to things, a lot of boxers. Whenever I whup someone’s ass, I’m ‘tough,’ I’m ‘in good shape.’ I’m not ‘good.’ You know what I’m saying? But I’m just in better shape than every boxer that I ever sparred ever? Heh. So it comes with the territory, okay? It’s all good.”

Jake Paul could opt to walk away from professional boxing following his highly anticipated clash with Nate Diaz.

The Problem Child’ will return to the ring for a meeting with former UFC superstar Nate Diaz on August 5. Emanating from the American Airlines Center, Paul, and Diaz are scheduled for a potential 10-round showdown as the Stockton Samurai makes his pro boxing debut.

Depending on how things turn out, Jake Paul could opt to lay down his gloves and walk away from the sport altogether. Speaking with InsideFighting, the social media sensation suggested that his popularity has continued to skyrocket, even after coming off his first career loss. But when asked if this could be his last fight, Paul was anything but certain one way or the other.

“Potentially, you never know, sometimes you lose and things get bigger and you get more motivated,” Paul said. “That’s what happened to me in my last fight and I lost you know so like my name only got bigger, the hype for this fight is bigger than any of my other fights and that’s coming off of a loss.

More ticket sales than any other fight, more social interactions than any other fight so I lost and just got bigger and got more motivation to be in the gym so you really never know what’s going to happen” (h/t MMA News).

Jake Paul Expected to Make MMA Debut in 2024

Even if Jake Paul decides to hang up the 10-ounce gloves for good, it won’t be the last time fight fans see ‘The Problem Child’ compete. Earlier this year, Paul signed with the Professional Fighters League and is expected to make his mixed martial arts debut in 2024, presumably on the same night that another blockbuster PFL signee, Francis Ngannou, is expected to make his first appearance inside the Smart Cage.

Jake Paul goes into his fight with Nat Diaz boasting a solid 6-1 record with his lone loss coming against the only legitimate boxer he has faced thus far, Tommy Fury. A majority of his victories have come against ex-UFC standouts including former world champions Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva.

The Stockton native will make his professional boxing debut on August 5 as the two are set to square off inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas. With the bout mere days away, Jake Paul showed off his ripped physique in a quick-clip courtesy of Most Valuable Promotions on Twitter.

And before you begin accusing Paul of utilizing performance-enhancing substances, ‘The Problem Child’ offered up a screenshot of his Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test to confirm that he has in fact been tested and that the results were negative.

Jake Paul Looking to Add Another MMA Legend to His Hit List When He Meets Nate Diaz

Jake Paul will be making his first appearance in the ring since coming up short against Tommy Fury in February. It was Paul’s first career loss as he ended up on the wrong side of a closely contested split decision. Paul has expressed interest in running it back with Fury, but for now, ‘The Problem Child’ will focus on the task at hand, which is securing a win over another notable mixed martial artist.

Paul has made a career for himself dispatching MMA fighters in the boxing ring, starting with former ONE and Bellator world champion Ben Askren. From there, he moved on to ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, defeating ‘The Chosen One’ on two separate occasions, including a vicious sixth-round KO in their rematch. He delivered another impressive showing against UFC Hall of Famer Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva last year before taking on a legitimate boxer in Tommy Fury.

As for Nate Diaz, the Stockton Samurai will be making his pro boxing debut after ending his 15-year run with the UFC last September. During his time inside the Octagon, Diaz went 16-11 with his highest-profile victory coming against Irish megastar Conor McGregor at UFC 196. Diaz would come up short in their rematch at UFC 202, losing via a majority decision.

Once his bout with Jake Paul is in the books, Nate Diaz has every intention of returning to the UFC with the goal of completing his trilogy against McGregor.

Nate Diaz confirms plan to make UFC return after whipping motherf*cker Jake Paul boxing

Ahead of his incoming professional boxing debut in August, former UFC welterweight contender, Nate Diaz has vowed to make a return to the Octagon in the future once more – off the back of his clash with outspoken social media star, Jake Paul.

Diaz, a former lightweight title challenger under the banner of the Dana White-led organization, officially exited the UFC back in November of last year, following the completion of his contractual obligations with the promotion.

The Stockton native has been sidelined since he headlined UFC 279 back in September of last year, snapping his three-fight losing skid to both Jorge Masvidal and welterweight champion, Leon Edwards with a fourth round guillotine choke submission win over former interim lightweight titleholder, Tony Ferguson.

Nate Diaz reiterates plan to make return to the UFC

Expected to make his first venture into the boxing circle next month in Dallas, Texas, Diaz, a staple under the UFC banner – has stated once more that he plans to make his Octagon return off the back of his bow against the aforenoted Ohio native, Paul.

“Yeah,” Nate Diaz said when asked if he would make a UFC return during a recent podcast appearance with Bradley Martyn. “I’m gonna get this fight [with Jake Paul] done with, and then – people don’t understand, everything changes with every fight. …”

“Jake Paul comes in the scene yelling crazy sh*t at people, and I didn’t like that,” Nate Diaz explained. “This guy actually thinks he’ll beat everybody’s f*cking ass and is louder than all you fools who are really beating people’s ass. So now, I have to step the f*ck out the box real kick, and whip this motherf*cker’s ass, so everyone knows who’s the real ass-whopper, you understand what I’m saying?”

Prior to his victory over Ferguson and string of losses to both Edwards and Masvidal, Diaz landed an impressive unanimous decision win over former undisputed WEC and UFC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis back in August 2019.

Notably, during his absence from combat sports, Diaz confirmed his intentions to make a return to the Octagon in order to land a trilogy rubber match with former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor

Nate Diaz says it’s going to cost a lot more than $10 million to get him inside the PFL Smart Cage with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

You may not realize it due to the complete lack of hype, but Nate Diaz is scheduled to make his first post-UFC appearance in just a few short weeks. The ‘Stockton Samurai’ will be making his professional boxing debut against ‘The Problem Child’ on August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Once their bout is in the books, Paul is expected to make a transition to mixed martial arts, competing under the PFL banner in early 2024. No opponent has been officially announced, but Paul already appears to have a man in mind.

Taking to Twitter, Jake Paul confirmed that his offer to fight Nate Diaz inside the cage following their boxing bout still stands, guaranteeing the TUF alumnus a staggering $10 million for the proposed fight.

“For all the clowns saying ‘why don’t you fight Nate Diaz in the cage.’ I made that offer to him from the start. $10M to fight me in PFL after we box on August 5. Offer is still there Nathan,” Paul tweeted.

A $10 million payday is certainly nothing to scoff at in any field of work, but if Paul wants Nate Diaz to sign off on the mixed martial arts match, he’ll need to up the ante significantly.

“We’ll see what happens, let’s get this fight out that way,” Diaz told InsideFighting. “It’s going to cost more than that.”

Fans Show Concern for Nate Diaz Ahead of Boxing Bout with Jake Paul

Fans have shown some concerns in recent weeks as the fight between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul grows closer. Video clips of Diaz’s sparring have been heavily scrutinized by boxing aficionados. Some have even suspected that the man from 209 could be suffering from CTE after 15 years of high-profile brawls inside the Octagon.

“I’m always aware that I can be knocked out at any time and that’s what makes me train harder than most people. I don’t really be eating punches like how they say because the forearms and elbows and sh*t cut me up. But I’ve been in a boxing gym and it mightn’t look like it but I just roll with any of these punches that anybody lands,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show.

“They’re saying I’ve got CTE or some sh*t and it’s like bro, I’ve been talking this way the whole motherf***ing time. It ain’t got nothing to do with getting hit or none of that and I’m smarter now than ever. I’m not trying to be knocked out so I believe he’s got a long night ahead of him, I believe I do as well but I’m not afraid of it and I’m ready to rock and roll.”

Nate Diaz is currently listed as a +245 underdog going into the contest while Jake Paul is a more than three-to-one favorite, sitting at -330.
