The Jake Paul and Nate Diaz fight is getting closer and closer, and Paul is extremely confident that not only will he defeat Diaz on August 5th, he will defeat him by knockout.

Coming off of his first boxing loss, the famed Youtube boxer Jake Paul is seeking vengeance. He’s looking to make a statement with an impressive victory over Nate Diaz and show fans he’s still hungry to make it in the combat sports world.

“I have the biggest chip on my shoulder, the biggest chip on both shoulders,” ‘The Problem Child’ told TMZ Sports. “Coming back with a vengeance, refilled with that hunger that I had in the beginning of the sport to prove to people what I was capable of. The lion lost, I retreated back into the jungle, I took notes of everything, I got better, I trained, and now this lion is going to come out and maul this dude.”

Jake Paul is eager to annihilate Nate Diaz on August 5th

“He’s going to have to pay for all this hard work, all the sacrifice I’ve made during this camp,” Paul continued. “I promise, I’m going to be the first person to stop him on Aug. 5th. 100 percent, he’s going to sleep.”

Knocking Nate Diaz out would actually be history-making, as the Stockton superstar has never been knocked out cold in the UFC octagon. Diaz has been finished of course, but never truly knocked out. Which would make a Jake Paul knockout over the UFC legend all the more insane.

“I’m going to let my actions do the talking. When he gets in there with me, and he sees my speed, my power, my skill, and he can’t hit me, that is going to frustrate him,” Paul explained. “In that moment he’ll know that he f***** up, and he’s about to get embarrassed, and there’s a difference between UFC champion and a boxer, a very skilled boxer in myself. My fists are going to do all the talking.”

Jake Paul hasn’t been impressed with Nate Diaz’s promotional efforts so far.

Diaz and Paul are set to face one another August 5 at the American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas on what will be a ten round professional boxing contest. Paul is coming off the first loss of his boxing venture, dropping a points decision to Tommy Fury earlier this year. However, the event proved a commercial success and would rack up over 800,000 pay-per-view buys.

A large part of this triumph was the build-up and attention that was brought over their year-long feud. Both Fury and Paul flung insults at each other, releasing a new callout video to social media every other day.

Jake Paul talks Nate Diaz build up

This time however, Diaz has almost completely refused to play ball in terms of a ‘building up’ the fight. The Stockton native has posted ;little on social media, conducted little media and wouldn’t bite on Paul’s insults and digs.

Talking to MMAJunkie, Paul discussed the lack of effort on Diaz side, criticizing the 38-year-old for his efforts.

That’s what I wanted – that’s why I signed up for this – is to give the people a show and to squash this beef,” Paul said. “He talked a lot more sh*t to me before we signed up to fight. So, he’s kind of being a b*tch in that sense. I expected more out of him, and I expected him to carry that gangster attitude and to not take my insults. But he’s pretty much rolled over like a b*tch and has been quite boring, which pisses me off. But I’m used to carrying these promotions. It’s no different in this one.” (H/T MMAJunkie)

Even with the lack of drama, Paul does expect the PPV to do well just off name value alone.

“I think it’s going to surprise everyone,” Paul continued. “I would be happy with 400,000 or 500,000 (PPV buys). But I’m also coming off of selling 830,000 with Tommy. So it could be even bigger. Nate Diaz is a bigger star than Tommy Fury.”

Nate Diaz denies suffering from CTE I've been talking like this the whole time UFC

Ahead of his impending August professional boxing debut, former UFC welterweight contender and one-time lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz has urged fans and critics alike that he is not suffering from brain trauma – claiming that his infamous cadence and tone of voice has been one he has carried his entire career.

Diaz, a former welterweight contender under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from combat sports competition since he headlined UFC 279 back in September of last year, landing a fourth round guillotine choke submission win over former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson.

Departing the organization in November of last year following the completion of his contractual obligations with the Dana White-led promotion, Diaz, the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 5 has since booked a professional boxing bow against polarizing YouTuber, Jake Paul in August in Dallas, Texas.

Nate Diaz denies he is suffering from CTE ahead of his boxing debut

And addressing fan concerns regarding his condition ahead of his debut inside the squared circle, Diaz has assured fans that he is not suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

“I don’t really be eatin’ punches like they say,” Nate Diaz said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “I bleed because of the forearms and elbows and sh*t cut me up but like I said, “i’ve been in a boxing gym and it might not look like it but I roll with a lot of these punches that anybody lands on me. I’m not just walking in like a meathead into punches. I’ve never been knocked out. I’ve never even really been f*ckin’ stunning stupid or nothing.”

“These f*ckers are talking about how I talk and I’ve got f*ckin’ CTE or some sh*t,” Nate Diaz explained. “I’m like, bro, I’ve been talking this way the whole motherf*ckin’ time. It’s got nothing to do with getting hit or none of that. I’m smarter now than ever.”

Jake Paul plans on settling some business with Irish superstar Conor McGregor once his highly anticipated clash with ex-UFC standout Nate Diaz is in the books.

‘The Problem Child’ will make his eighth walk to the squared circle on August 5 for a showdown with TUF alumnus Nate Diaz inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Scheduled for a 10-round scrap, Jake Paul will look to add another former UFC star to a hit list that already holds names, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva. Diaz would make a mighty fine addition to Paul’s already impressive resume, but the social media sensation already has his sights set on another mixed martial arts megastar.

“There’s so many fighters, there’s so many people out there,” Paul told TalkSport when discussing his next potential opponent. “We have offers out to Tommy [Fury], we’ve been trying to do the KSI negotiations for years so there’s just a lot down the horizon. But when I knock out Nate Diaz, I think that Conor McGregor’s going to see me, want a payday, and come and get knocked out.”

Jake Paul is More Than Willing to Throw Hands with Conor McGregor Inside the PFL Smart Cage

After amassing an impressive 6-1 record inside the squared circle, Jake Paul is expected to make his MMA debut in 2024 under the PFL banner. No official opponent has been announced, but ‘The Problem Child’ is more than willing to sign on the dotted line for a Smart Cage clash with Conor McGregor if the Irishman is apprehensive about strapping on the 10-ounce gloves once again.

“We can fight in the PFL smart cage, whatever it is,” Paul said. “I told everybody I would fight Conor in any form of fight. Because, in my opinion, he is that shot. I’ll do MMA. I’m not afraid. I’ve wanted to do that my whole career. [I have] a wrestling background. All I’d have to learn is some jiu-jitsu and some kicks, which seems pretty easy to me.”

Jake Paul also addressed the possibility of a long-awaited showdown with fellow social media star KSI.

“With KSI, I don’t know,” Paul said. “The kid’s been saying for years and years, he has all these excuses. He’s going on tour, he’s focusing on himself, he’s posting back on YouTube again. He’s doing all this stuff when I’ve just consistently been fighting and fighting and fighting and ready to go at any given time.

“As far as I’m concerned, he doesn’t want the fight.”

UFC welterweight standout Randy Brown believes Nate Diaz will get “destroyed” inside the squared circle with social media sensation Jake Paul.

After 15 years of competing inside the Octagon, Nate Diaz will make his highly anticipated pro boxing debut as the Stockton Samurai is set to square off with Jake Paul inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas on August 5. Despite having one of the more celebrated stand-up games in mixed martial arts, Diaz is listed as a +245 underdog a month before the bout is scheduled to go down. According to Randy Brown, those odds sound about right based on Diaz’s skill set versus that of his opponent.

“I think Nate Diaz doesn’t have great boxing, I think he has great elements of boxing, I think there’s things that he incorporates well from boxing in his game and he has great drop punches because he carries his hands very high so there’s no tell and then he just drops them on you,” Brown told InsideFighting.

Jake Paul is currently 6-1 in his career as a professional boxer. Most of those victories have come against non-boxers, including former NBA star Nate Robinson and ex-MMA world champions Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva. His lone loss came against the one legitimate boxer he has faced in his career, Tommy Fury.

Randy Brown Doesn’t Like Nate Diaz’s Chances Against Jake Paul

With an undeniably solid record against former UFC stars, many fight fans, including Randy Brown, aren’t giving Nate Diaz much of a chance when he straps on the 10-ounce gloves for a scrap with ‘The Problem Child.’

“I think he [Diaz] gets destroyed in a boxing match. Jake Paul is a boxer by this point, we have to give credit where credit is due and he’s a boxer,” Brown said. “He might not be an extremely high-level boxer but at this point, he’s boxing primarily you know that’s where he spends most of his time whereas a lot of MMA fighters we have to split our time between so many different things. It’s been a few years now, realistically I look at him now as a really good amateur” (h/t MMA News).

Making his promotional debut on season five of The Ultimate Fighter, Nate Diaz went 16-11 during his 15-year run with the UFC. Diaz has gone toe-to-toe with some of the biggest lightweights in the history of the sport, including Anthony Pettis, ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, Gray Maynard, Jim Miller, Takanori Gomi, Benson Henderson, Rafael dos Anjo, and Rory MacDonald. His biggest career win came at UFC 196 when he submitted Conor McGregor via a rear-naked choke.
