Following the announcement of his return to combat sports on August 5. in the form of a professional boxing match against professional boxer, Jake Paul, former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz has confirmed he will to the Octagon after the venture.

Diaz, a former welterweight contender and lightweight title challenger under the banner of the UFC, departed the promotion back in November of last year, after his contractual obligations with the promotion were completed.

The Stockton fan-favorite bowed out of the Dana White-led organization off the back of a victory, submitting former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson with a fourth round guillotine choke in the main event of UFC 279 back in September.

Linked with a transition to professional boxing off the back of his departure, Nate Diaz was announced as part of a DAZN PPV event in Dallas, Texas earlier today – taking on 6-1 boxer, Paul over the course of eight rounds in a middleweight matchup at the American Airlines Center.

Providing his thoughts on the matchup against Paul, Diaz claimed beyond decorated world champion, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez – the Ohio native was the biggest name in professional boxing today, before confirming his intentions to return to the UFC following the August clash.

“Besides ‘Canelo’ [Alvarez], he’s [Jake Paul] the biggest thang (sic) in boxing,” Nate Diaz said in a press release. “I’m here to conquer that. I’m the king of combat sports and then I’m headed back to get my UFC belts. I f*cked up Conor (McGregor) for acting out and now here I am again, like a super hero of the real fight game – the king of the real fight game.” (H/T MMA Fighting)

Competing for undisputed lightweight spoils under the UFC banner back in 2012, Diaz suffered a unanimous decision loss to then-undisputed gold holder, Benson Henderson.

Most notably, Diaz secured a second round rear-naked choke victory over former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor in 2016 – handing the Crumlin native his first loss under the banner of the organization.

Jake Paul Floyd Mayweather altercation was fake PR stunt

Boxing influencer Jake Paul has said his viral run in with Floyd Mayweather was actually staged.

Back in March, the two clashed outside of the Kaseya Center following a Miami Heat game.

Paul was leaving the arena when he was suddenly approached by Mayweather and his entourage.

After a tense verbal interaction, Jake Paul, who was heavily outnumbered by Mayweather’s men, was seen running off.

Although Paul admittedly criticized his own actions for fleeing the scene, he is now saying it was all a ploy to stir up fight rumours.

Jake Paul claims his altercation with Floyd Mayweather was a PR stunt

Speaking with Wade Plem on his livestream, the ‘Problem Child’ claims it was a successful PR stunt which attracted many eyes.

This is not the first time Paul has clashed with ‘Money’ Mayweather.

The two have a history dating back to the leadup of his brother Logan’s fight with Mayweather.

They came face-to-face in a heated debate until Jake snatched his hat and a brawl broke out.

Mayweather, who’s professional record stands immaculately at 50-0, is constantly in question regarding whether or not he is actually retired, but he is clearly still enthused by the fight game.

Paul is coming off the first professional loss of his career to the hands of heavyweight icon Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy Fury.

Paul has also recently signed a contract with the PFL, leaving him numerous routes to choose from in his next venture, although a rematch with Fury is favoured.

Jake Paul expects to make PFL debut end of 2023 in massive fight

Professional boxer, Jake Paul has confirmed plans to make an expected move to professional mixed martial arts later this year, if not the beginning of next year with the PFL (Professional Fighters League) – claiming he and his team and working on “another massive fight”.

Paul, who boasts a 6-1 professional boxing record, most recently headlined a pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia against Manchester native, Tommy Fury – the younger half brother of current undisputed WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury

Dropping his first professional loss, the outspoken Ohio native suffered a split decision defeat against the reality television star, snapping a perfect professional record which included victories over former UFC champions, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley – as well as former Bellator MMA and ONE Championship gold holder, Ben Askren.

Jake Paul provides update on impending MMA debut

Speaking with the PFL during the promotion’s PFL 2 event last night, Paul, who recently inked a multi-year contract with the emerging mixed martial arts organization, confirmed plans were currently earmarked for him to make a late, end of 2023 professional mixed martial arts bow – if not a 2024 landing, instead.

“So I need about a year or so, and then I’m gonna be ready, and I’m excited to be doing it with the PFL,” Jake Paul said. “And hopefully, we can lock down a big name, because I want to challenge myself. People think I’m crazy, which I am, but I like doing things differently. And, since the beginning of this whole like influencer boxing thing, I’ve always said that I wanted to do MMA. So, for me, I’m excited to do it, and to be doing it at the PFL.”

“I’m revisiting the drawing board, going back to the basics, and changing some things around with my team, and we’re assessing who it is that I’m gonna fight next,” Jake Paul explained. “There’s some really big names out there. We’re talking to multiple different teams, trying to make another massive fight. So stay tuned and hopefully you’ll hear an announcement from me soon.”

Jake Paul wrestles with UFC star Bo Nickal ahead of MMA debut

Social media superstar Jake Paul was seen grappling with one of the hottest prospects in the UFC, Bo Nickal.

Although this may come as a surprise, the 26-year-old could use as much help as he could get heading into his PFL debut sometime this year.

Paul, who has often been ridiculed for fighting MMA fighters in a boxing ring rather than a cage, announced that he would be signing with the PFL on January 5th.

The now professional turned boxer has no MMA experience, so a session with grappling phenom Nickal certainly does not stain his learning period.

Nickal is a former three-time NCAA Division 1 national wrestling champion.

The 27-year-old middleweight is no veteran of the game himself, having only made his MMA debut in 2022, yet he has rallied an immense support in his brief 4-0 career.

This involves three-straight first round submissions under the UFC branch, including his pay-per-view debut where he flawlessly choked Jamie Pickett at UFC 285, as a massive -1800 favourite.

The two may not share much in common, but Nickal has offered to assist Jake Paul’s transition to MMA in the past, and he is signed under Paul’s betting company, Betr.

Jake Paul, who is coming off his first defeat in professional boxing against Tommy Fury, is yet to announce whether his next fight will take place in boxing or MMA, but a bout with the PFL in the near future is inevitable.

The heavily criticized Ohio native was very much disliked by the MMA community in the past, feuding with stars online such as Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor, and Jorge Masvidal to name a few.

Although, he was similarly hated for his antics heading into professional boxing, and he would like to prove his doubters wrong in an identical fashion.

Paul’s multi-year historic deal with the PFL includes a co-created pay-per-view division called “PFL PPV Super Fight,” a division that guarantees fighters will receive 50% of revenue from its events.

The PFL have not exactly hinted at Jake Paul’s potential opponents, although Paul was rumoured to have offered free agent Nate Diaz a two-fight deal.

Ryan Garcia

Undefeated lightweight Ryan Garcia will return to the squared circle on April 22 for a highly anticipated showdown with Gervonta Davis.

With a little over a month to go before the 23-fight winner steps back into the ring, TMZ Sports caught up with Ryan Garcia to get his take on a potential matchup between boxing icon Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul. Garcia suggested that Mayweather would likely come out on top, but is confident that ‘Money’ won’t be able to finish the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer.

Floyd’s getting up there in age, but he’ll probably still beat up Jake, but guess what? Jake won’t get knocked out,” Garcia said. “I’ll 100% that. He couldn’t knock out Logan.”

Ryan Garcia Comments on Altercation Between Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul

Earlier this week, Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul made headlines when the two parties had a brief altercation outside of the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game on Wednesday night. In a video released by TMZ, ‘Money’ appeared to approach Paul with a rather large entourage. Reportedly taking issue with comments Paul made about him previously, ‘The Problem Child’ can be seen running away from the situation after recognizing he was hilariously outnumbered.

“You shouldn’t be running up on a guy with 50 dudes,” Garcia commented. “That ain’t right if you want the truth of that, but it is what it is. I ain’t worried about that. I’m worried about knocking out Gervonta Davis and hopefully, Jakes comes out and shows everybody, ‘I’m with Ryan. Ryan’s gonna knock him out and put him to sleep.’
