ONE Championship picked up another mixed martial arts (MMA) legend earlier this year when they signed former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort to a contract.

The 42-year-old is expected to make his promotional debut soon, however, no news on an opponent or date has been made available as of this writing. However, that could change soon, as Belfort took to Instagram recently to address his debut. In fact, he invited longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan to corner him for his debut fight.

Belfort posted a montage of Rogan praising ONE Championship on his Instagram page. He captioned the video by inviting Rogan to corner his debut fight, saying he’d love to have the longtime commentator’s knowledge in his corner:

“Joe Rogan and I made our UFC debuts on the same night. I became the youngest fighter to ever win a UFC ____, and Joe embarked on his incredible career as the voice of the UFC.

We also share the same respect for ONE Championship. @yodchatri and his team @onechampionship are changing the game for fighters and fans. @joerogan, I would like to formally invite you to be my cornerman in my first ONE Championship fight. I admire your dedication to the sport, and I would love to have that knowledge, and that voice, in my corner.”

Do you think Rogan would ever consider cornering Belfort, or any other fighter, for a fight in another promotion?

Joe Rogan Calls Jorge Masvidal ‘Rough Fight’ For Conor McGregor

Jorge Masvidal wants a piece of Conor McGregor. And if that’s a fight the UFC decides to put together, longtime commentator Joe Rogan thinks “The Notorious” could be in for a long night.

Speaking on his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan discussed “Gamebred’s” recent call out of the Irishman. Rogan explained why he thinks the matchup could be “rough” for McGregor, hyping the former street fighter’s knockout power:

“Yeah, that’s a rough fight,” Rogan said. “That’s a rough fight for Conor. Masvidal is a big fella too. He really belongs at 170, that’s where he’s fighting. He fought at 155 but really tortured himself to make that weight. He’s a big guy. You’re talking about a guy who knocked out “Cowboy” Cerrone, knocked out Darren Till, knocked out Ben Askren.

I mean, he’s knocking out big welterweights. Big. Darren Till is a big welterweight. He’s big. He’s not a guy coming up from 155 pounds. He’s never making 155 pounds.” Rogan continued, “He’s really running into the last few fights, he’s coming into his own. He’s really becoming something special.

This past weekend (Sat. July 6, 2019) Masvidal scored the fastest knockout in UFC history at five seconds, dismantling formerly undefeated welterweight Ben Askren with a flying knee.

Masvidal has been the talk of the mixed martial arts (MMA) community this week. It’s no surprise the Floridian decided to capitalize on the hype and call out “The Notorious” during his appearance on “The Dan LeBatard Show” yesterday. McGregor has yet to respond.

What do you think of Rogan’s analysis of a potential fight between Masvidal and McGregor?

Last night’s (Sat. July 6, 2019) UFC 239 pay-per-view (PPV) event provided one of the most entertaining cards in recent memory.

Michael Chiesa established himself as a true player at 170 pounds with a dominant victory over first-ever “Ultimate Fighter” winner Diego Sanchez. Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold’s debut at light heavyweight did not go according to plan, as he was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in vicious fashion.

Also, Jorge Masvidal left almost all combat sports fans’ jaws on the floor when he starched Ben Askren in five seconds with a flying knee. Not only was it the first defeat of Askren’s career, but it marked the fastest knockout in UFC history.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes continued her dominance, as she finished Holly Holm in the first round of their co-main event battle. Nunes actually finished “The Preacher’s Daughter” with her own signature head kick, followed up by some strikes on the ground.

And finally, Jon Jones remains your UFC light heavyweight champion, after surviving a nail-biter against the powerful Thiago Santos in the main event, which “Bones” won via split decision. Speaking after the event, longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan gave ESPN his four stars of the night.

Rogan dubbed Jones, Nunes, Masvidal, and Edmen Shahbazyan – who took out Jack Marshman on the early ESPN prelims in impressive fashion – as his four stars of the night. Check out Rogan’s comments here:

Joe Rogan Dubs Tony Ferguson ‘Scariest Guy’ At Lightweight

There’s no doubt that Tony Ferguson is one of the most dangerous athletes inside the UFC’s Octagon. There’s no doubt that Tony Ferguson is one of the most dangerous athletes inside the UFC’s Octagon.

However, longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan has dubbed “El Cucuy” as the “scariest guy” at 155 pounds. Speaking with former UFC fighter Yves Edwards on the latest edition of his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan explained why he believes Ferguson is the baddest man at lightweight:

“Tony Ferguson is an animal,” Rogan said. “An animal. He’s the scariest guy at 155 in my world. He doesn’t get tired. The ‘Cowboy’ fight freaked me out. ‘Cowboy’ looked like Tony had bricks in his gloves. His face was all busted up, Tony didn’t look like he had a scratch on him, Tony wasn’t even tired.

“It’s crazy man, he has insane power, man. It’s like, it’s a weird thing. Because Tony does stuff to people and he doesn’t get tired.”

Rogan went on to further explain just how impressive Ferguson’s gas tank is, recalling what he saw from the former interim champion during his fight with Donald Cerrone:

“Cause the ‘Cowboy’ fight, I’m telling you man, I watched him from the moment they stopped the fight – after the second round – I’m watching him, and he goes back to his corner – ‘Cowboy’s’ face is a mess. He’s just beating the sh*t out of ‘Cowboy,’ he goes back to his corner, his stomach isn’t even heaving. He’s not breathing heavy.”

Ferguson has been gunning for a title opportunity for quite some time now. Unfortunately, injuries to both himself and opponents have plagued his title aspirations. He once captured the interim lightweight title, only to injure himself prior to his scheduled unification bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov last year.

Now, Ferguson has racked up a ridiculous 12-fight win streak, with his latest coming by way of TKO over Cerrone. With Nurmagomedov set to unify his title with interim champion Dustin Poirier in September, perhaps Ferguson will be next in line for the winner.

Do you agree with Rogan that Ferguson is the “scariest guy” at lightweight?
