Jorge Masvidal travels to Stockton searches for Nate Diaz there's someone I'm looking for UFC

Former undisputed welterweight title chaser, Jorge Masvidal has put fans on red-alert tonight across social media – alluding to a future rematch with former Octagon foe, Nate Diaz, travelling to the ex-UFC star’s native, Stockton – and asking locals if they can locate him.

Masvidal, a former two-time welterweight title challenger, called time on his professional mixed martial arts career last April, following a fourth consecutive loss in the form of a unanimous decision blemish against former title challenger, Gilbert Burns.

And as for Diaz, the Californian departed the Dana White-led promotion back in 2022, following a stunning rallying win over former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson – submitting his fellow Ultimate Fighter winner with a guillotine choke in an impromptu UFC 279 main event.

Linked with a spectacular professional boxing debut against Diaz in recent months, rumblings suggested a showdown between the former foes was set for a date next month, however, at the time of publication, no official announcement has been made regarding a boxing rematch between the former and Masvidal.

However, adding fuel to the proverbial fire on a rematch with his one-time Octagon opponent, Masvidal travelled to Diaz’s native Stockton – before questioning the owner of a shop if he could help him locate the veteran Californian.

“There’s somebody I’m looking for,” Jorge Masvidal said in a video posted on his official X account. “Maybe you know him – maybe you give him my number. Nate Diaz? You know him?”

Fighting atop UFC 244 back in November 2019, Masvidal became the promotion’s first symbolic BMF champion, courtesy of a third round doctor’s stoppage win over former lightweight title challenger, Diaz, whom he landed a third round doctor’s stoppage TKO win over.

Who wins in a future rematch: Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz?

Former UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal sounds off on bitter rival Colby Covington

Once close friends and training partners, it now seems that Covington and Masvidal will never reconcile. Out with their fights, both in the cage and out, the two will often take jabs at one another in media appearances, often taking aim at personal topics.

And following his one-sided loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 296, Covington gave Jorge Masvidal even more ammunition after coming out with a whole.

Jorge Masvidal again aims at Colby Covington

When asked about Covington’s excuses, Masvidal would of course dig in, first slamming Covington for his lack of political knowledge.

“He doesn’t know anything about politics,” Masvidal began during an interview with BroBible. “He literally just attaches his name to Trump, hoping that Trump will one day tweet his name or maybe show up to a fight. But, the guy literally knows nothing about politics, knows nothing about immigration laws, knows nothing about 401ks, about foreign policies, domestic policies. He knows nothing.”

Masvidal would then go on an expletive-filled rant, accusing Covington of having a gambling issue and blasting him for using ‘the greatest president ever’ as an excuse.

“All this guy f*****g does is throw his money away gambling on poker and paying for prostitutes to be in his f*****g videos,” Masvidal said. “So, for him to go out there and involve Trump’s name so much and say, ‘The judges don’t like me because I roll with Trump and they robbed me because of Trump!’ You’re a f*****g piece of s**t.

“Now you’re blaming the f*****g greatest president this country has ever seen for your f*****g s***y ass loss. You didn’t do a damn thing, and everybody says, even your mom says you’re a f*****g bum. You’re going to blame that on Trump? Because you’re such a f*****g bum? you’re a piece of s— It just shows who he is, and of course now he has a ‘broken foot. The guy’s a f*****g cheating, lying, piece of s**t cop-calling mother***er. And I can’t wait to see his ass.”

Do you think Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington will ever put their beef behind them?

Jorge Masvidal stokes flames on Justin Gaethje rivalrly I'll chop him up break his orbital

Inaugural BMF titleholder, Jorge Masvidal has vowed to break the orbital of former interim lightweight gold holder and current symbolic champion, Justin Gaethje if they ever share the Octagon in the future – vowing to “chop up” the Arizonian.

Masvidal, a former two-time undisputed welterweight title chaser and the promotion’s first-ever symbolic BMF gold holder, called time on his storied career back in April of last year, suffering his fourth consecutive defeat.

Dropping a decision loss to fellow former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, Miami veteran, Masvidal has been linked with a potential move to professional boxing later this year, in the form of a rematch with former Octagon rival, Nate Diaz.

Jorge Masvidal issues warning to Justin Gaethje

And in a LowKick MMA exclusive, American Top Team staple, Masvidal told Michael Owens how if he was paired with the aforenoted, Gaethje in the future – whom he picked to lose against Max Holloway in their UFC 300 title clash, he would break the orbital of the lightweight veteran en route to a vicious win.

“Justin’s (Gaethje) very good,” Jorge Masvidal said. “The guy that he beat to get that belt is a f*cking stud, a killer in Dustin Poirier. But I just feel like, man – if you put BMF against BMF, you put me against Gaethje in there, I will break his f*cking eye orbital. And I will f*cking chop him up. So, hopefully that can happen at some point.”

Himself winning symbolic BMF spoils back in 2019, Masvidal turned in a dominant third round doctor’s stoppage TKO win over the above-mentioned, Diaz at Madison Square Garden – in the pair’s first pairing atop a UFC 244 pay-per-view card in New York City.

Jorge Masvidal is backing Max Holloway to leave with the BMF title at UFC 300.

More than four years after ‘Gamebred’ bested Nate Diaz to win the inaugural bragging rights belt, the faux championship will be defended for the first time when current “baddest motherf*cker” Justin Gaethje meets former featherweight king Max Holloway as part of the promotion’s landmark event on April 13 — UFC 300.

Speaking with Mike Owens in a LowKick MMA exclusive interview, Masvidal is putting all of his support behind ‘Blessed,’ praising Holloway’s style inside the Octagon and the human being he is outside of it.

“I think Max Holloway is one of the baddest motherf*ckers that ever lived,” Masvidal said. “That’s a dude that I f*cking salute. I love his style. I love his story. I love his beginnings. I love how humble of a person he is. I’m going for Max all the way, but I think it’s going to be a f*cking great fight.”

Jorge Masvidal Leaves the Door Open for BMF Superfight with Justin Gaethje

When the BMF belt was first introduced, it was nothing more than a gimmick to help sell a non-title headliner between Masvidal and the ‘Stockton Samurai’ at UFC 244. As a result, ‘Gamebred’ never had the opportunity to defend the belt.

“When I won the belt, Dana said it would be one and done and there would be no defending it,” Masvidal added. “So there never was any talk about it, at least for me. But I think now I think the temperature on that has changed. They’re doing things a little different and Justin is very good. The guy that he beat to get that belt (Dustin Poirier) is a f*cking stud.

“But if you put BMF against BMF. If you put me in there against Gaethje, I would break his f*cking orbital and I would chop him up. Hopefully, that can happen at some point.”

Jorge Masvidal’s BMF title win against Nate Diaz would be the last victory of his UFC career. After suffering four-straight losses against Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman in back-to-back bouts, Masvidal walked away from mixed martial arts, though he has left the door open for a potential return.

Next, Masvidal is expected to make his pro boxing debut under his own banner — Gamebred Boxing — later this year.

Jorge Masvidal talks pro boxing debut

MMA will always be Jorge Masvidal‘s first love, but the former UFC star is ready to test his skills in the boxing ring.

After a decade of competing inside the Octagon, Masvidal is gearing up for a return to the world of combat sports. But this time, instead of strapping on a pair of four-ounce gloves, he’ll be fitted for a pair of eight-ouncers as he prepares to make his professional debut under his own Gamebred Boxing banner.

“I’m definitely trying to do some boxing matches,” Masvidal told Mike Owens in a LowKick MMA exclusive interview. “I love MMA. It’s my favorite sport in the whole world and I did it for 20 years. It’ll always be number one to me, but there’s a chance to do some boxing matches. I wouldn’t mind breaking somebody’s face. Boxing was the first combat sport that I really discovered and started doing. Then four or five years later, I discovered MMA.

“I took off on my MMA journey, but I always loved boxing. Once I got to the UFC, I signed a strict contract. They wouldn’t let us do anything else so I never got to test my boxing skills. I think it’s a good time for me now to test my boxing skills.

Jorge Masvidal ready to show the next generation how it’s done

Who Masvidal faces in his anticipated boxing debut is still to be determined. However, recent rumors have suggested that a fight with another former UFC fan favorite — Nate Diaz — is in the works. But no matter who Masvidal mixes it up with inside the squared circle, the former BMF titleholder will be happy to show the up-and-comers what it takes to be elite, whether it be in a cage or a ring.

“You have to put in the time and effort to get the conditioning,” Masvidal added. “A lot of these guys don’t do that. They’re doing half-assed jobs. That’s why I’m able to go out there and be mean every second of every minute and every minute of every round.

“They’re f*cking taking time off. They’re f*cking pointing at each other. Taking selfies in the f*cking ring. When I go in there, it’s gonna be to scrap. Bring that beautiful f*cking science that boxing is and use a lot of conditioning and a lot of emotion to f*cking hurt these guys.”

Masvidal and Diaz previously met at UFC 244 in November 2019 for the inaugural BMF belt. ‘Gamebred’ won the bout via TKO following a doctor’s stoppage after the third round. It would be the last time he saw his hand raised inside the Octagon.
