If Justin Bieber is serious about fighting Tom Cruise, UFC President Dana White seems open to the idea of booking the fight.

White was recently a guest on LVSportsBiz’s Guerilla Cross Radio, and was asked about Bieber calling out the Hollywood star. The UFC boss admitted that he wasn’t sure if Bieber was serious. He hasn’t been contacted by the pop star, and isn’t even sure if Cruise is willing to fight at his age.

However, if both parties were interested, White simply said, “we can talk” (via MMA Mania):

”I didn’t know if it was real or not,” White said “I still don’t know if it’s real. Everybody is talking about it, but Justin hasn’t contacted me. Listen, first of all, maybe Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise for whatever reason. I highly doubt Tom Cruise wants to fight Justin Bieber.

“I’m 50, I think Tom Cruise is 56. I don’t think anyone who’s 56 is looking to fight anybody. But I’ll tell you this, if Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise, and Tom Cruise wants to fight Justin Bieber, we can talk.”

Last week Bieber randomly called out Cruise on Twitter, tagging Dana White in the Tweet asking him to book a fight between them in the Octagon. The callout, for whatever reason, actually got the fight world buzzing a bit. However, Bieber later clarified he was only kidding and admitted Cruise would probably mop the floor with him.

Still, if both Bieber and Cruise decide to actually fight for the easy cash grab, it’s an interesting thought to consider that White is at least open to the idea.

As expected, Justin Bieber wasn’t being serious when he challenged Tom Cruise to an MMA fight, and now he has backed down from the talk.

Bieber backtracked on the would-be celebrity fight while doing a recent interview, where he admitted that he would have to get into great shape and most likely lose:

“I was just playing,” Bieber told TMZ. “It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes. I think he would probably whoop my ass in a fight. I’d have to get super in shape, I’m really skinny right now. I think he’d probably be out of my weight class. He’s got that dad strength.”

Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor even expressed his interest in fighting Mark Wahlberg on the same card as the proposed Cruise vs Bieber bout. Both fights won’t take place obviously.

In the world of entertainment, there are various call outs, but Bieber had people buzzing about the fight, especially given there was no plausible reason for it. It all started with a random challenge via Twitter, as the pop star asked Dana White to make the fight inside the Octagon.

As a result, this caught the attention of McGregor, who tried his best to make the fight happen. He even offered to promote the fight. It turns out that Bieber doesn’t want to share the cage with Cruise. If the fight did get booked then there would’ve been a strong possibility of an instant money-grab.

But what happens when the bad blood stems from people outside of the sport?

In this article, we’ll take a look back at 10 past and present UFC stars who have had run-ins with famous celebrities, from movie stars to pop icons.

Cody Garbrandt vs. Jean Claude Van Damme

Martial arts movie icon Jean Claude Van Damme got on former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt’s bad side when he made a special guest appearance at Team Alpha Male last year.

JCVD began by taking the gym’s star-studded roster of fighters through a 40-minute stretching routine and then started demonstrating some his famed kicking techniques on Garbrandt.

”He started playing with me, acting like he was going to throw some kicks, and he started throwing hands like slapping at me.

“I was like ‘What the hell?’ Then he f—king kicked me with that hook kick right in the teeth and I was like ‘motherf—ker.’ I was pissed, I was so mad. I looked over at Rob, then I looked over at Jean and I was like ‘Rob, keep this motherf—ker away from me.’

“…I was like ‘I’m going to rip his head off, but it’s Jean-Claude what are you supposed to do?’ All of a sudden he looks at me, drops to his knees and starts crying and is like “My champion!” and starts crying like that, so I felt hella awkward.”

Thankfully, Garbrandt decided not to seek retribution and instead walked out the gym to cool off, but it’s safe to say he won’t be hanging out with Van Damme again anytime soon.

So, thanks to MMA Game, we can see just how Diaz vs. Bieber would play out in the virtual world.

The video game is set to be released on Tuesday.

TMZ.com recently caught up with UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor and got the Irish UFC star’s take on possibly rematching Nate Diaz — with a friend in his corner.

The celebrity-gossip website asked McGregor about the Diaz-Justin Bieber beef, leading to McGregor claiming he wouldn’t mind having Bieber in his corner for a potential rematch against Diaz.

“I’m ready to go again,” McGregor told TMZ about his willingness to get back into the Octagon as soon as possible. “I had a great time. It was a good fight, a hell of a fight. I look forward to coming back with a vengeance.”

Regarding a rematch with Diaz, “The Notorious” one admits that he would like to “get that one back.”

“I think I’d like to see that, yea? I mean, it’s one that interests me, most certainly. You know, when I look at the fight I was winning the fight. I won the first round and a half, I feel. I’d love to get that one back. We’ll see how it goes. Money talks. Life is good.”
