Jake Paul is ready to open up the checkbook for NBA All-Star Draymond Green after a leaked video of him knocking out a teammate went viral.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the four-time NBA Champion appears to be trash-talking with teammate Jordan Poole. After a few seconds, Green casually approaches Poole and gets directly in his face. Poole aggressively pushes Green away prompting the one-time defensive player of the year to throw a superman punch that immediately dropped his teammate. Other players on the court immediately rushed over to break up the confrontation, but by then, the damage had already been done.

Jake Paul Offers Draymond Green Big Money Following Viral Video

Never one to let an opportunity pass by, YouTuber turned professional boxer, Jake Paul immediately took to Twitter, offering $10 million to box under his Most Valuable Promotions banner.

“Draymond I got $10 million for you to get in the ring on the next Most Valuable Promotions pay per view,” Paul tweeted while tagging Green. “Who you want?”

At 32 years old, Draymond Green is widely considered to be one of the greatest defensive players in NBA history. However, Green also carries the distinction of being one of the most notorious players when it comes to aggression on the court. While some say Green is simply a physical player, there are those that call his actions downright dirty on the court.

Nevertheless, that type of emotion and physicality is exactly what promoters like Jake Paul look for in professional athletes so it’s no surprise that ‘The Problem Child’ immediately threw out an offer to the former NBA defensive player of the year. Of course, it remains to be seen if Jake Paul is serious in his offer or if he is just attempting to steal some of the media attention that the video clip has received. As of this writing, the video has nearly 20 million views.

On October 29th, Paul will return to the squared circle when he faces UFC legend, Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva. It will be his toughest test to date after winning his first five professional fights. For Silva, it will be his third appearance inside the squared circle. In June 2021, he scored a split decision win over boxing icon Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and followed that up three months later with a first-round knockout of former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz.

MMA fighters are no strangers to feuding with other fighters, and more often than not, they’ll eventually settle their differences inside the cage.

But what happens when the bad blood stems from people outside of the sport?

In this article, we’ll take a look back at 10 past and present UFC stars who have had run-ins with famous celebrities, from movie stars to pop icons.

Cody Garbrandt vs. Jean Claude Van Damme

Martial arts movie icon Jean Claude Van Damme got on former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt’s bad side when he made a special guest appearance at Team Alpha Male last year.

JCVD began by taking the gym’s star-studded roster of fighters through a 40-minute stretching routine and then started demonstrating some his famed kicking techniques on Garbrandt.

”He started playing with me, acting like he was going to throw some kicks, and he started throwing hands like slapping at me.

“I was like ‘What the hell?’ Then he f—king kicked me with that hook kick right in the teeth and I was like ‘motherf—ker.’ I was pissed, I was so mad. I looked over at Rob, then I looked over at Jean and I was like ‘Rob, keep this motherf—ker away from me.’

“…I was like ‘I’m going to rip his head off, but it’s Jean-Claude what are you supposed to do?’ All of a sudden he looks at me, drops to his knees and starts crying and is like “My champion!” and starts crying like that, so I felt hella awkward.”

Thankfully, Garbrandt decided not to seek retribution and instead walked out the gym to cool off, but it’s safe to say he won’t be hanging out with Van Damme again anytime soon.

Draymond Green Tells Conor McGregor to Take off Warriors Jersey on Instagram

Draymond Green is not a Conor McGregor fan.

The Golden State Warriors forward responded to a photo of McGregor in a Warriors jersey by writing on Instagram, “We rocking with Floyd bro not you…take that off bruh.”

McGregor responded to Green in the comments, saying of the No. 23 jersey: “That’s C.J Watson mate. I don’t know who the f–k you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school.”

He added: “Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.J. when I don’t know or give a f–k about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid.”

So why wear a Watson jersey? From USA Today‘s Martin Rogers:

“Back in January, back when the fight still seemed improbable, McGregor took aim at his opponent’s ugly domestic violence record. Mayweather spent time in prison for battering Josie Harris, mother to three of his children, in September 2010.

Having split with Harris, she says he entered her home in the middle of the night and was infuriated to find messages from NBA player C.J. Watson on her phone. Mayweather’s son, Koraun, then 10, told the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that he had seen his father on top of Harris—hitting and kicking her.”

McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are set to face off Aug. 26 in one of the more intriguing fights in recent memory. That’s due to McGregor’s background as an MMA fighter, not a boxer, and Mayweather’s perfect 49-0 record on the line.

The buildup to the fight has been controversial, however, with many decrying the amount of racial insensitivity on display.

As Khaled A. Beydoun of The Undefeated wrote:

“Boxing’s checkered history of capitalizing on racial and ethnic rivalries to sell bouts has taken a turn for the worse with this unprecedented megafight, with racist taunts and bigoted trash talk showcased, loudly and vividly, throughout the four-city press tour that concluded in London on July 14.”

Among other comments, McGregor told Mayweather to “dance for me, boy” during the press tour. Mayweather has hardly been an angel, however, using misogynistic and homophobic language during the lead-up to the fight.

It’s unclear if McGregor’s behavior during the press tour is the reason Green is pulling for Mayweather or if he is simply a fan of the undefeated boxer. But if two of the loudest men in sports, Green and McGregor, are about to exchange a war of words online, things could heat up quickly.
