Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson took place on Friday night, and MMA News is here to bring you all the action.

Four months on from their original fight date falling through, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and heavyweight legend Tyson gave their matchup a second go at reaching the ring inside Arlington’s AT&T Stadium.

The pair’s eight-round professional heavyweight contest was tasked with headlining the very first combat sports event to be streamed live on the Netflix platform, which also staged the championship rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

After a blockbuster co-headliner, Paul outpointed Tyson in a lackluster main event, which saw 58-year-old “Iron Mike” land just 18 times across the 24-minute distance.

With that said, see below for the full results, followed by the best highlights.

Amanda Serrano Set for $6 Million Purse in Taylor Rematch on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Undercard

Amanda Serrano is set to secure a big bag for her highly anticipated rematch with Katie Taylor.

Nearly three years removed from their instant classic in Madison Square Garden, Serrano and Taylor will run it back on Friday, November 15 in Arlington, Texas for the undisputed super lightweight world championship. Their bout will serve as the co-main event to Jake Paul’s clash with legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium.

The event will air live on Netflix around the world at no additional charge, a first for the streaming giant and its 280 million subscribers.

Paul, who promoted the first-ever meeting between Serrano and Taylor in April 2022, previously revealed that the pair had earned around $1 million each for their critically acclaimed clash.

This time around, both women are expected to make significantly more money with a recent report in the Irish media revealing that Taylor would earn a career-high purse of just over $6 million. Interestingly, Serrano responded to the post writing, “But mine is bigger lol.”

Eddie Hearn couldn’t turn down Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor rematch despite frustration with paul vs. tyson headliner

While fight fans are excited to see Serrano and Taylor go toe-to-toe once again, the same can’t be said for the evening’s main event.

Since it was announced, Paul vs. Tyson has faced significant scrutiny, much of it surrounding the massive 31-year age gap between the combatants. Even Eddie Hearn, the British boxing promoter who represents Katie Taylor, finds himself frustrated with Tyson’s return to pro boxing but later admitted that the money being offered to Taylor was too good to pass up, even if he’s not a fan of the main event.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

“We negotiated the whole fight because it was the right opportunity for Katie Taylor,” Hearn explained. It was the right offer and I want to thank DAZN for allowing us to have that sensical conversation to say ‘Look, let’s let her get the win here and then we’ll be back for a big fight’.

“But at this point in her career when we receive an offer like that, the right offer, we have to consider it. It’s got nothing to do with the main event. It’s just the right opportunity for my fighter, someone that we care about a lot, someone that deserves everything from the sport of boxing. Financially this was a big opportunity, we like the fight, she wants to be in the biggest fights out there. Simple as that” (h/t talkSPORT).

Purses for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have not been disclosed, but rumors suggest that each fighter could bank upwards of $20 million for their role in what is expected to be one of the most watched fights in combat sports history.

Conor McGregor was pelted in the head with a flying beer while Irish boxing star Katie Taylor was suffering her first career loss inside the squared circle.

The former two-division UFC champion was in attendance at Dublin’s 3Arena on May 20 for Katie Taylor’s first fight in her home country. The undisputed female lightweight world champion was looking to conquer her second division, challenging undisputed light-welterweight champion Chantelle Cameron. Taylor came up short, dropping a majority decision in what would be her first career loss.

Conor McGregor, who was on hand for the event, was clearly dejected by Taylor’s defeat. Adding insult to injury, the Irishman appeared to have been nailed by a beer moments after the decision was announced.

Conor McGregor Did Not Agree with the Judges

Following the fight, McGregor revealed that he was in disagreement with the judges, suggesting the bout was a draw.

“Great fight, close fight, I had it a draw,” McGregor told reporters. “She went up in weight at the drop of a hat. She was scheduled for one different style of opponent at a specific weight and that fell through. “So last minute what does Katie do? The warrior that’s in her? She gave me something to aspire to! She wanted to go up in weight and fight the champion in the heavier weight at the drop of a hat.

“Give her a chance to do it at Croke Park, for sure Croke Park is on. It was a close bout, the size was prevalent, but Katie is a tactician, give Katie another bash at that.”

Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to television this Tuesday night as The Ultimate Fighter season 31 premieres on ESPN. The Notorious’ will coach opposite former Bellator MMA champion ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler as the two men march toward an inevitable clash inside the Octagon later this year.

Conor McGregor distraught following Katie Taylor loss in homecoming title fight

Global phenomenon Conor McGregor has been captured on film in the moments that Katie Taylor tasted defeat for the first time in her career.

Taylor, previously unblemished as a professional, took on Chantelle Cameron at light welterweight, aiming to secure titles in the division she last fought in 2019. Ultimately though, the Brit Cameron secured two of the judge’s scorecards, whilst one scored it a draw between the pair.

Conor McGregor is well-known to be one of Katie Taylor’s biggest supporters, and although trying to maintain a positive demeanor, you could see in his eyes that he hurt for his friend and compatriot Taylor, who he often cites as an inspiration of his.

Such a big supporter fact, that the former two-weight champion of the world sponsored the event through his whiskey brand Proper 12, and met with Taylor’s promoter, and head honcho of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, to make sure his countrywoman was ensured to compete for a Dublin crowd at least once in her illustrious career.

Watch: Conor McGregor’s reaction to Taylor’s loss

Conor McGregor is one of the more animated fight watchers on the planet. Often spotted shadowboxing or appearing to have an invisible, bucking animal beneath him while he enjoys taking in the evening combat, McGregor appeared much nervier this time out in a video posted on TheMacLife YouTube channel.

Following the disappointing verdict for the Irishman, he was full of nothing but encouragement for Taylor, stating:

“Another amazing fight for you,” McGregor could be heard saying to Taylor. “Another day, another day for Katie Tay. Love you to bits, I love you.”

Next up for “Notorious” looks to be a blockbuster affair with Michael Chandler, although exactly when appears up in the air, following the filming of the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
