This evening’s (Sat., October 6, 2018) UFC 229 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been hyped up as the biggest UFC of all-time. It is delivering on said hype. Building on amazing finishes by Aspen Ladd and Tony Martin on the UFC 229 preliminaries, Vicente Luque just kept the momentum running.

After two straight stoppages over Chad Laprise and Niko Price, Luque met Jalin Turner at UFC 229. Turner was a tough foe. He landed a spinning backfist, but the Florida-based welterweight ate it. He countered with a violent flurry that dropped Turner. A storm of vicious ground and pound followed to give him a seventh finish in seven UFC victories.

The hype for Saturday’s (Sat., October 6, 2018) UFC 229 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, is in full swing. We saw that when Conor McGregor tried to kick Khabib Nurmagomedov at the ceremonial weigh-ins earlier today. Now, we’ve found how much both fighters will earn for the all-out chaos in the official UFC 229 salaries.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released the official numbers this evening (Fri., October 5, 2018). McGregor and Nurmagomedov will both earn multimillion-dollar paydays to fight each other tomorrow night. The undefeated champion will earn $2,000,000 with no win bonus.

Former champion McGregor is returning from a nearly two-year absence to fight for the title he never lost. He’ll earn more than the champ, raking in a $3,000,000 purse with no win bonus as well.

While that may sound like peanuts based on the record-breaking payday McGregor has been touting, it only tells part of the story. The figures do not include the huge back-end pay-per-view revenue both fighters are expected to accrue. The card is expected to sell 2,000,000 or more buys. Dana White has even suggested the card will sell 3,000,000. That would therefore break the prior UFC record by a wide margin.

The fighter to earn the biggest payday aside from Khabib and McGregor is former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. He will earn $145,000 to show with another $145,000 to win.

Check out the full UFC 229 salaries below.

UFC 229 Official Salaries:

Khabib Nurmagomedov ($2,000,000/$0)

Felice Herrig Trashes ‘Piece Of S**t’ Conor McGregor & His ‘Nuthugger’ Fans

The MMA world is almost collectively ecstatic that UFC 229’s main event will move forward as scheduled. Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov made weight and Conor McGregor did soon after at today’s UFC 229 early weigh-ins. That left most of the fight game ready to rejoice. But one person isn’t so excited, and it’s women’s strawweight veteran Felice Herrig.

Herrig will face Michelle Waterson in the opening bout of the UFC 229 main card from the T-Mobile Arena tomorrow night.

She’s apparently been getting some hatred online because of her anti-McGregor stance due to his controversial New York attack. Herrig was asked about this dynamic at the UFC 229 Media Day. She revealed to MMA Fighting (via Bloody Elbow) that it’s all because of his ‘nuthugger’ fans:

“I think because there’s controversy, and so many people they either love Conor or they hate him. So his nuthuggers are gonna be like ‘How dare you speak of the king like that? Blasphemy!’

Blind Followers?

‘Little Bulldog’ went on to offer her opinion that McGregor’s fan would follow him blindly no matter what he did. Those who would do anything at all for McGregor are the ones hating on her:

“I think it’s just because people will follow him blindly. He’s the kind of person who could be a cult leader and have all these little minions. The people that get pissed at me are his little minions who would kiss his feet. So that’s why I get hate, it’s because he’s so loved or hated or controversial.”

Yet Herrig is undeterred. She is not happy with his controversial assault earlier this year, and will never be. Herrig even went as far as to call McGregor a “piece of s**t” for his attack on several fighters:

“I don’t care, what he did was wrong,” she said. “I still think he’s a piece of sh-t, and I’m always going to think he’s a piece of sh-t.”

The UFC’s biggest fight of all-time is officially set. The MMA world can let out a sigh of relief to see that former champion Conor McGregor makes weight for tomorrow night’s (October 6, 2018) UFC 229 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

McGregor hit the scales at 154.5 pounds at today’s UFC 229 early weigh-ins. He received an uproar of support from his fans. But the UFC’s biggest star didn’t wait to soak it in. He rushed out of the weigh-ins as fast as he arrived.

Watch him step on the scale and hit his mark via The Score:

The news comes on the heels of champion Khabib Nurmagomedov making weight as the first man on the scales today. There was obviously a ton of uncertainty surrounding ‘The Eagle’s’ mark on the scale.

McGregor came in late as he usually does. He was a half-pound below the lightweight title fight limit of 155 pounds. Both fighters looked in shape and ready.

So all concerns in terms of weight have been checked off the list. The UFC’s biggest match-up can now proceed as planned.

For once, the MMA gods have smiled upon us today. Who will win in Vegas tomorrow night?

Conor McGregor says he’s going to do some serious damage to his archrival Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of this Saturday night’s UFC 229 from Las Vegas.

The undefeated UFC lightweight champion got tired of McGregor’s late arrivals at today’s UFC 229 pre-fight press conference. ‘The Eagle’ rose the belt high and stormed out in a surprising scene. It was an unexpected move that perhaps seemed to out in Nurmagomedov’s favor.

But as he always does, McGregor showed up. He issued a seething reaction to Khabib’s early exit. To him, it was a sign of weakness that he didn’t want to be in his presence. Overall, however, he just hoped that Khabib made weight for the match. The famed Irishman is more than ready to be back fighting following nearly two years out of the octagon.

That has many concerned about betting underdog McGregor’s ability to deal with the favorite Nurmagomedov’s ground game. He paid it little mind at the presser, claiming he’d been wrestling much bigger men.

Ultimately he says it doesn’t matter because he thinks Khabib will wilt early fro his pressure:

“I’ve been grappling and wrestling much heavier men this whole camp. 200 pounders, even yesterday, 200 pounders, 25 minutes straight. You know, I have cut no corners here. I am ready for all outcomes. I feel once I hit him, he’s gonna turn weak, I expect panic from him early. But we are prepared for every single outcome.”

Another Edge

McGregor dove into his other advantage as well, noting that he’s seen it all. It’s tough to argue with that, as he has been in a wide range of positions in the octagon. Most of all, he’s back to enjoy fighting yet again:

“I also don’t give a bollocks. I’ve experienced it all. I’ve got f**king tired in there, I’ve been on my back in there. I have been in every scenario you can be in under the brightest lights in the entire world. I am a veteran. So I am going to go out and do what I came here for, to enjoy it.  I am here to enjoy this because this is what I love.”

Final Prediction

Finally, the Irish fan favorite offered one more brutal prediction for the bout’s outcome. McGregor promised to finish Khabib in a certain violent style:

“I’m going to come out fast from the bell, pressure him, and like I said, send that man’s nose into the nosebleeds.”
