UFC welterweight Matt brown speaks on Mike Perry serving as the backup fighter for Logan Paul Vs. Dillon Danis

Influencer boxing continues to roll on, in the latest sideshow Logan Paul and KSI will be fighting on the same card together on October 14. KSI will take on Tommy Fury, while Paul will take on Danis – the pair have called it the ‘Prime Card’ after their ‘hydration’ drink.

While both Paul and KSI have recently come under fire for their own controversies, which include use of racial slurs and a multi-million dollar scam, the drink itself has recently received heavy scrutiny. While both have marketed the drink as a hydration beverage, experts have claimed that the ingredients in the drink are not that of a useful hydration

Logan Paul to take on Mike Perry

As Danis will be Paul’s opponent, there are concerns that he would pull-out of their scheduled bout. In fact, Danis has a clause in his contract that means he will have to pay $100,000 if he pulls out.

They also gave a backup opponent for Paul, which is arguably a much harder task. Perry will replace Danis should he drop out and even appeared in a face-off with the influencer.

Since leaving the UFC Perry has gone on a tear in the bareknuckle boxing world and is the sports biggest star. The American has maintained an all-action and come-forward style, putting on exciting fights. According to MMA legend, Matt Brown, Paul should be hoping that Danis does not pull out.

“He does not want to f*** with Mike Perry,” Brown said on The Frighter Vs. The Writer. “Mike Perry’s not a great boxer either, but he doesn’t give a f***. (H/T MMA Fighting)

“He comes forward and throws bombs. I just watched him versus [Michael Page] in bare knuckle the other day, and it was like he has no technique at all. He just walks forward and throws, and he doesn’t look good doing it at all, but it f****** gets the job done. He’s praying that Dillon Danis shows up.”

Who would win, Mike Perry or Logan Paul?

Jon Jones snubs Adesanya and Du Plessis, dubs Mike Perry the best African fighter: ‘The real n**** himself

Jon Jones knows who the best African fighter in the world is, and it’s not Israel Adesanya.

It’s not even South African contender Dricus Du Plessis. No, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion has snubbed both of his Octagon compatriots in favor of BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

A few years back, before he was lighting up the likes of Luke Rockhold and Michael ‘Venom’ Page in the squared circle, Perry was a middling welterweight known more for his antics outside of the cage than the performances he delivered inside of it. That includes suggesting that a supposed DNA test revealed he is 2% African, thus, by his logic, he is “legally allowed” to say the N-word.

“Okay, I want to explain that I took a DNA test and the results came back French and German, British, and Irish, and I was 2% African. So I am legally allowed to say the word n****,” Perry said in a post on Instagram.

Jon Jones Has Some Fun at the Expense of Adesanya and Du Plessis

Well, five years later, Mike Perry has finally received validation courtesy of Jon Jones who recently dubbed ‘Platinum’ the best African fighter.

“Who is the best African fighter: Izzy, Du Plessis, or Mike Perry?” Overdogs Podcast host Josh McLean asked Jon Jones during a recent episode.

“The real n**** himself, Mike Perry!” Jones replied with a laugh.

Clearly, all parties involved in the conversation were just having a little bit of fun, but to Mike Perry, it was nothing more than a case of “real recognizing real.”

Mike Perry is currently booked as the official backup for October 14’s highly anticipated clash between social media star Logan Paul and BJJ specialist Dillon Danis. The pair are scheduled to headline Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester, England. Should either man find themselves unable or unwilling to compete, ‘Platinum’ will step in and keep things moving forward.

As for Jon Jones, the reigning heavyweight champion will put his title on the line for the first time against perhaps the greatest heavyweight in UFC history, Stipe Miocic. They will headline the promotion’s return to the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden at UFC 295 in November.

Darren Till accepts ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry’s challenge to fight on ‘The PRIME Card’ this fall: ‘Let’s go’

Darren Till

Darren Till is ready to step inside the squared circle for a crossover clash with fellow former UFC standout, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

Perry has been calling for a fight with Till ever since a 2018 sparring match put the pair at odds with one another, but Till appears to finally be ready to sign on the dotted line.

On Tuesday, Perry revealed himself to be the official backup for the highly anticipated grudge match between social media sensation Logan Paul and BJJ specialist Dillon Danis. However, Perry is more than open to strapping on the eight-ounce gloves for a guaranteed spot on the card, so long as it means finally getting his hands on Darren Till.

“I’ve been calling [Till] out for bare-knuckle, Perry said in an interview with Jamal Niaz. “Bare Knuckle’s been trying to get that, but I’m already here in England. I was talking bout Anthony Taylor talking sh*t on Twitter and Darren Till, we can put the gloves on since you’re scared to do it bare-knuckle. I’ll knock you out with eight-ounce gloves on.

“I’ll be ready to fight. I’m training. I’ll be a stand-in. They gotta pay me regardless. I’m here for a check and that could get a lot bigger if I’ll be fighting on the card. That card could get a lot bigger if I’m fighting on the card, especially with a name like Darren Till” (h/t MiddleEasy).

Darren Till is Ready to Settle Things with Mike Perry in the Squared Circle

Shortly after, Perry reposted the interview and tagged Darren Till, asking if ‘The Gorilla’ was up for a fight. It didn’t take long for Till to respond, accepting the challenge laid down by the BKFC star.

“I say yes let’s go,” Till wrote in response.

Darren Till walked away from the UFC after dropping five of his last six fights inside the Octagon. ‘The Gorilla’ has expressed interest in re-signing with the promotion in the future, but perhaps he’ll settle a little business with Mike Perry first.

“I’m sure I could go in there and f*ck Mike Perry up, as we were meant to fight,” Till told MMA Junkie back in March. “Make a bit of money, get the body healthy, and whether the UFC like it or not, get back to the UFC. That’s still my main focus. They’re going to approach me, but if they are going to approach me, don’t waste my time. Offer me something astronomical. Otherwise, nope. I don’t need it.”

One way or another, Mike Perry will be in Manchester on October 14 as Misfits Boxing presents ‘The PRIME Card’ on pay-per-view. The event will feature co-headlining bouts, the first being the aforementioned scrap between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. In the main event of the evening, UK-based social media star KSI will return to the ring for a showdown with undefeated pro boxer, Tommy Fury.

Mike Perry calls for bare knuckle fight with Sean Strickland show us the money UFC

Taking in last night’s UFC Vegas 76 headliner between Sean Strickland, and Abusupiyan Magomedov – former promotional welterweight contender, Mike Perry has called for organizational president, Dana White to sanction a bare knuckle fight between himself and the polarizing, Strickland.

Perry, a former welterweight contender under the banner of the UFC, has so far enjoyed a stunning three-fight promotional-perfect run with the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) since landing with the David Feldman-led promotion last year.

Debuting with a unanimous decision win over The Ultimate Fighter alum, Julian Lane, the surging Flint native, Mike Perry would then land an overtime decision win over former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page in a summer event in London.

And earlier this year, Mike Perry turned in a hugely-impressive win over former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, forcing a second round TKO win over the Santa Cruz native in Broomfield, Colorado.

And despite noting his interest in a potential future fight with former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor following a face-off with the Dubliner in the ring following his April return, Perry appears to have his interested piqued by a fight with UFC middleweight contender, Strickland.

“Me and Sean Strickland should bare knuckle box,” Mike Perry tweeted. “Show us the money and make it happen @danawhite @bareknucklefc”

Turning in his second consecutive victory at UFC Vegas 76 last night with his rallying second round TKO win over Magomedov, Strickland had previously landed a unanimous decision win over Nassourdine Imavov in January at the light heavyweight limit – calling for a title showdown with Israel Adesanya since.

“F*ck, man, it just needs to happen, you guys,” Sean Strickland told assembled media following UFC Vegas 76. “We know Izzy (Israel Adesanya) is on f*cking repeat, dude. They [the UFC] try to bring Abus – this is what the UFC said, ‘Man, the middleweight division is stagnant. Let’s get Abus in here. He might beat Sean.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah right, motherf*cker. Wait until you see what happens.’ Every time they’ve tried to bring new blood – the Frenchie (Nassourdine Imavov) I fought before, I sent him home. This guy, I sent him back. Every time they try to bring new blood in, I send them back. Give me the f*cking title. I earned it.”

“The one before that, I fought the other guy they were trying to [push], their last phenom that they were trying to [push],” Sean Strickland explained. “I took that guy on three-day f*cking notice. I took him on in a five round war and won every f*cking round. I paid my dues. I’ve f*cking paid my fues. Give me that sh*t.”

Joe Rogan describes rumored BKFC fight between Conor McGregor, Mike Perry as ‘F*cking bananas’

Joe Rogan describes BKFC fight Mike Perry and Conor McGregor as f*cking bananas

With the duo facing off inside the ring at a BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) event back in April, UFC color-commentator, Joe Rogan has claimed a potential future fight between promotional-perfect puncher, Mike Perry, and former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor as “f*cking bananas”.

Perry, a former welterweight contender under the banner of the UFC, departed the promotion back in 2021, before linking up with the David Feldman-led BKFC the following year.

So far boasting an undefeated 3-0 record in the organization, Perry racked up a pair of consecutive decision wins over The Ultimate Fighter alum, Julian Lane, before then defeating former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page in London last year.

Returning this year in Broomfield, Colorado, Perry landed an eventual TKO retirement win over former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold in a bloody war for as long at it lasted.

Mike Perry faced off with Conor McGregor in the ring earlier this year

Surprisingly, Perry was met in the ring by Conor McGregor, who was sporting a BKFC championship belt, and reflected on the encounter during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

“He (Conor McGregor) was moving all over the place and I stood my ground,” Mike Perry said. “I stood so still and I couldn’t be wavered or moved. He was moving all over the place. I mean, that says that he was free in that moment to do so, obviously. But, it was me respectfully calling him out, which shows the professional in martial arts that I have been for so many years.”

“How do you call a man out in a sport that he has a family and you guys want to hurt each other and they can honor it in a fair way and promote it to be entertaining?” Mike Perry asked.

As far as Rogan is concerned, however, a future fight between McGregor and Perry under the BKFC banner, albeit unlikely, would be staggering.

“If he (Conor McGregor) decided to do that – if somehow or another they [the UFC] gave him the green light to do that, I can’t imagine how that could ever happen, but if it did – if that happened in a bare knuckle fight, that would be f*cking bananas,” Joe Rogan said.”

“He’s a very good kicker, he can do everything, but if somehow or another he agreed to fight bare knuckle, I mean, Jesus Christ, you know how big that would be?” Rogan explained. “That would be wild. If they did that in bare knuckle, it would be a million pay-per-view buys at least – probably more.” (Transcribed by MMA Fighting)
