John Fury calls out Mike Tyson to a fight multiple times during a press conference between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.

With a Fury fight week, it usually comes with some sort of oddity and headline grabbing moments. While Fury himself is no stranger to kicking-off, it’s his father John who has recently been the one stealing some of the shine.

A former professional boxer and bare knuckle fighter, the head of the Fury clan has been around the fight game for a very long time. He is loud, brash and confrontational – becoming bare chested and shouting threats on several occasions. Fury if often a integral part of his sons teams, accompanying them during fight week.

John Fury calls out Mike Tyson

Even in Saudi Arabia for his sons fight against Ngannou, Fury’s tune has not changed. He would go after former undisputed heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, several times.

Tyson is currently helping Nganou prepare for his clash against Fury, much to the displeasure of team Gypsy King.

“John Fury only fears one person and he’s not even of this world and that’s god almighty. Here I am! Any man alive wants to fight John Fury, I’m here ready to go! Mike Tyson what, have you got to say to that my brother,” Fury exclaimed. (H/T MMA News)

“Let me tell you my brother, the world is going to see what’s going to happen to your man. Your man will get his head boxed off and stopped at will, don’t you worry about that, and if I’m wrong, me and you will fight straight after.”

“Ngannou, can’t beat me pal and I’m useless, but I’ll tell you what I have, I’ve got a world class heart,” Fury continued. “I’m not saying I can beat this great man, I’m not saying I can beat ya Mike, but I’ll fight ya and do the best I can pal because that’s what me mother bred, a fighting man and you’ve got to respect that.”

Mike Tyson Reportedly Paid ‘Very Handsomely’ by Saudis to ‘Act’ as Francis Ngannou’s Trainer

Francis Ngannou Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson’s training of Francis Ngannou ahead of the former UFC heavyweight champion’s professional boxing debut may be nothing more than a dog and pony show backed by Saudi Arabian promoters.

On Saturday, October 28, Ngannou is scheduled to make his long-awaited return to combat sports when he steps inside the squared circle for a clash with undefeated WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury in Riyadh.

Appearing alongside Ngannou throughout much of his training camp has been legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The former unified heavyweight titleholder was often spotted in video clips working with Ngannou since news of his fight against ‘The Gypsy King’ broke.

Per a report from Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, Mike Tyson’s has been nothing more than cosmetic, claiming that the once embattled boxer was paid handsomely to simply act as Ngannou’s trainer for promotional purposes.

“The Saudis have paid Mike Tyson to act as Francis Ngannou’s trainer (very, Very, VERY handsomely, I’m told),” Iole wrote on X. “They are flying in celeb boxers, including [Manny] Pacquiao, [Roberto] Duran, [Erik] Morales, ‘Big’ George Foreman, MA Barrera, Joe Calzaghe, Tommy Hearns, Frank Bruno. Floyd Mayweather may go too.

“He hasn’t trained Francis but they figured his presence would bring attention to the event,” he added in a follow-up post. “Dewey Cooper trained him.”

Tyson Fury is Ready to Double Dip into Saudi Arabia’s Deep Pockets

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has gotten heavily involved in multiple sporting ventures. In 2018, World Wrestling Entertainment, which now flies under the same banner as the UFC, signed a 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s General Sport Authority to produce events in the Middle Eastern country.

Three years after inking a deal with WWE, A Saudi consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund successfully purchased England’s Newcastle United soccer team for a reported $409 million.

After causing an uproar in the world of professional golf, Saudi Arabia has now set its sights on being a big player in the world of professional boxing. The country will, of course, host Francis Ngannou’s fight with Tyson Fury, but ‘The Gypsy King’ is already planning to make a quick turnaround for a long-awaited title unification clash with Oleksandr Usyk in December. That bout will also reportedly take place in Saudi Arabia, assuming all goes according to plan.

Earlier this year, Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury, traveled to the country to compete against social media star Jake Paul in the ancient city of Diriyah.

In March 2024, the UFC will make its debut in Saudi Arabia for a Fight Night event held in conjunction with the country’s Riyadh Season festival.

John Fury plans to confront ‘Traitor’ mike tyson in saudi arabia: ‘Nobody is bullying me’

John Fury

John Fury, the father of reigning WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, plans to call boxing legend and Francis Ngannou coach Mike Tyson a traitor to his face when the two meet in Saudi Arabia later this month.

On October 28, Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight titleholder, will make his professional boxing debut as he is set to square off with ‘The Gypsy King’ in Riyadh. In the months leading up to their highly anticipated crossover clash, ‘The Predator’ has been getting a helping hand in the gym from none other than ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

Naming his son after the fabled knockout artist, John Fury feels admittedly slighted by the former champ, suggesting that by helping Ngannou, Mike Tyson is a traitor to his sport and he plans to tell him as such when the two men inevitably come face-to-face in the Middle East.

Me? Mike Tyson, I’m going to the top of the tree and he’s a traitor, and I’m going to tell him so in Saudi next week. Next week, he’ll be told,” Fury said in an interview with Mirror Fighting.

John Fury was recently in the corner of his other son, Tommy Fury, who headlined the latest Misfits Boxing event in Manchester against social media sensation KSI. Despite a lackluster performance, the younger Fury emerged victorious, escaping with a majority decision victory.

John Fury fears no man

In the days leading up to Tommy Fury’s bout, John Fury made headlines by picking fights with both KSI and Logan Paul’s father during a post-fight press event. He has every intention of bringing that same energy to Saudi Arabia where he plans to confront Mike Tyson.

“You watch, there will be no backward steps here from this kid,” John Fury added. “Nobody is bullying me and I’m not bullying them. I will stand, look at any man in the eye and say ‘Listen, let’s get it on, if you want to fight me I’m feared of no man.’

“The only thing I’m feared of in my life is God almighty. If you’ve got two arms, two legs, and a head, I’m not frightened of you. Never, I’ve faced men with ammunition today on my own never mind fists and feet. Fighting, I love it. If I get knocked out, I’ll come round with the blessings of God, brush myself down, and jump back on the horse. Then look for another fight down the road that I can win.”

Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou goes down on October 28 on ESPN+ pay-per-view in the United States. Ordering the event at home will set you back a relatively steep $79.99.

Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, the man recently arrested in connection with the murder iconic hip hop star Tupac Shakur, sent a chilling message to Mike Tyson after the heavyweight boxing legend said he wanted five seconds alone with the suspected killer.

Shakur was murdered on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas after being shot four times during a drive-by shooting. The incident took place shortly after Shakur had gotten into an altercation with Orlando Anderson, the nephew of Davis, following Mike Tyson’s boxing match with Bruce Sheldon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Police now believe that Shakur’s murder was carried out by ‘Keefe D’ in retaliation more than two decades later.

Understandably still distraught over the incident that took the legendary rapper’s life, Mike Tyson made his feelings very clear when he wished for an opportunity to spend five seconds alone with Davis.

Addressing Tyson’s comments in an interview with The Art of Dialogue on YouTube, ‘Keefe D’ delivered a word of warning to the former unified heavyweight world champion.

“I only need one second with you, dude,” Davis said while mimicking the motion of pulling a trigger with his finger. “You better leave me the f*ck alone and keep boxing. You’re a boxer. You guys not in no f*cking gangs. All of the sudden ya’ll want to be killers now. Knock it the f*ck off. You’re a boxer.

“I seen him at the mall. At a fashion show out here in Vegas. It was about 15 deep and this big crip dude named Jerome Williams, one of his bodyguards… I went the other way just to keep the front function down becaues I know Jerome woulda been like, ‘Keefe D, what up my n*gga?!’ But Mike Tyson used to hang with Zip. I’m that same dude that came over there in the Jordan Downs housing projects on the four-wheelers to meet you and Zip on the four-wheelers. You had on your overalls. I’m the same dude, dude.

“Dude act like you don’t know me. You don’t want to lose your f*cking life behind no bullsh*t, you know what I’m saying? Mike, leave that sh*t alone dude. Keep on boxing. More power to you, bro.

Three other men were inside the vehicle that fired on Tupac Shakur that fateful night. All of them have since passed away, leaving ‘Keefe D’ as the only individual to face charges.

Former boxing heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson predicts the upcoming boxing match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.

On October 28, Fury and Ngannou are set to do battle over a scheduled 10 rounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The odds are firmly against Ngannou and if Fury comes in on any sort of form, it will take something really special for the former UFC heavyweight champion to walk away with the win.

Along with a mountain of experience, Fury will have the size and speed advantage, and while Ngannou has shown he has big power in his MMA career, there is no evidence on how well this translates into boxing. So, most have Fury winning convincingly and would see Ngannou giving a somewhat of a spirited performance to be a win.

However, some feel that the highly unlikely will happen and feel Ngannou has the tools to pull it off – including Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson discusses Tyson Fury Vs. Francis Ngannou

Tyson has joined Ngannou’s team to help prepare him for the upcoming fight and was highly complimentary of the Cameroonian’s skill while talking to the Daily Mail.

“I am helping Ngannou. I am learning what he is able to do. He’s able to do so much more than I anticipated,” Tyson said. “He has what it takes to knock out anything or anybody standing in his way. “Once he lands a punch on Tyson Fury’s jaw he is going to knock him out too. Nobody can survive that.” (H/T Daily Mail)

Continuing, Tyson also spoke of Fury’s class and ability to put on exciting events.

“Fury’s not the all-time great but he’s one of the all-time greats. He’s really high up. He can do greatness right now. He’s always going to bring a good night of boxing, fight hard. You’ve got to try and hit him with a shot to knock him cold out because he always gets back up and fights hard,” Tyson said.

Taking direct coaching duties for former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou ahead of his professional boxing debut later this month in Saudi Arabia, former world champion boxer, Mike Tyson has warned incumbent WBC best, Tyson Fury to prepare for a battle of his will against the Cameroonian.

Tyson, who snapped his retirement for an exhibition boxing clash with fellow former world champion, Roy Jones Jr. back in 2020, has turned his attention to coaching in the time since, serving as a part of former UFC champion, Ngannou’s team for his boxing debut with Morecambe native, Fury at the end of this month in Riyadh.

Tyson Fury receives direct warning from Mike Tyson

And whilst the New York native has come under fire from Fury’s father, John Fury for coaching Ngannou – given the fact his son, Tyson is named after the legendary knockout artist, Mike Tyson has warned his namesake that a tough showdown awaits him against the Batié striker in the Middle East.

“Hey, good luck brother,” Mike Tyson told Tyson Fury during a recent interview with ESNews. “Train hard because you’re going to have a tough evening that night.”

Already attempting to book his next outing after his Riyadh clash with Ngannou later this month, Fury has put pen to paper on a fight contract to take on fellow heavyweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed title fight – which is currently targeted to take place on December 23. in Saudi Arabia – just 8 weeks after his 10 round clash with Ngannou.

Reacting to news of Fury’s hasty return plans, Ngannou speculated that the Morecambe puncher will be in no fit state to compete so soon after their fight, vowing to leave him medically unfit for a quickfire return
