Tyson Training With Belfort

Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is continuing his comeback preparations.

The 53-year-old is expected to make his highly-anticipated return to the sweet science in a charity match in the near future. Although there is no confirmed opponent as of now — though there are a number of options for him — Tyson continues to ramp up his training as he continues to look in great shape.

The latest includes him training alongside former UFC light heavyweight champion and current ONE Championship fighter Vitor Belfort.

You can watch a short snippet of them together doing stretches below:

Belfort also shared a message in the post of how Tyson inspired him back in the day.

“The youngest boxing champion with the youngest @ufc #mma champion.
@miketyson & @vitorbelfort ?????? — Mike, was my motivation to becoming the KING ? & record hold of most K.O in @ufc history since 1993″

It also appears that “The Phenom” is interested in doing something with Tyson, though it doesn’t seem to be for a boxing match. Both attended a recent AEW event recently, with Tyson making an appearance on the show.

“@miketyson @aewontnt @onechampionship @tonyrkhan @yodchatri let’s make it something happen!!! Awesome show just one idea!!! Please let me know what u guys think?”

As for Belfort, he is yet to make his ONE Championship debut despite signing with the promotion last year. However, he plans on making it soon with his opponent expected to be Alain Ngalani.

What do you make of Tyson and Belfort training together?

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship will approach boxing legend Mike Tyson for a second time in the hopes he’ll make his comeback with their organization according to the promotions president David Feldman

Tyson announced his intention to return to fighting a few weeks back and it has caused mass hysteria in the world of combat sports. Fellow boxing legend Evander Holyfield has also announced his return to the ring at 57 years old. MMA veterans such as Andrei Arlovksi, Ken Shamrock ad Tito Ortiz have also offered themselves up as potential opponents for ‘Iron Mike’.

BKFC previously offered Tyson $20 million to fight for them – the offer was rejected. They will now return with an offer that exceeds that amount. Feldman told MMA Fighting he is unable to confirm the exact amount because that is still being finalized, he said.

“I think I know what we need to do to make this thing happen.”

BKFC Will Not Make Mike Tyson vs. Tito Ortiz

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Ortiz seems to be the most optimistic about being matched against Tyson. ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ has even put together a promo video for the potential fight. He says a promoter offered him the fight. Feldman though denies he is the man who has approached Ortiz with the fight offer.

“I didn’t offer that (to Ortiz),” Feldman said. “I don’t know that it really draws. I think a Wanderlei Silva, someone of that nature. No matter how old Silva gets, he’s dangerous, and I think that would be an intriguing matchup. Something like that, but I don’t actually have anything in mind right now.”

Feldman isn’t really focused on who will be facing Tyson in BKFC right now. The promotion’s president is more concerned with trying to convince the former heavyweight king to entertain there offers as he admits his previous one was immediately rejected by Tyson.

“First, I want to see if we can make the Mike thing happen, period, and then we’ll start talking opponents,” Feldman said. “We’re not successful yet in making that Mike thing happen. But I don’t think the door’s shut. He did say no immediately. But I think there’s room there.”

Do you think Dave Feldman will be able to convince Mike Tyson to sign with BKFC?

Tito Ortiz

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has released a video to help promote his potential fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson. ‘Iron Mike’ recently announced his intention to return to the ring for a few exhibition bouts. The 53-year-old appears to be in tremendous shape based on the video footage he has released ahead of his comeback.

The former heavyweight world champion hasn’t been short of potential opponents for his comeback. Long-time rival Evander Holyfield has announced he will be returning to the ring at 57 years old. While MMA fighters have been lining up for a shot at the fight legend. Andrei Arlovski and Ken Shamrock have offered to take on Tyson. So has Ortiz and his call out got the most attention from fight fans and the man himself, Mike Tyson.

‘The Hunnington Beach Bad Boy’ took to social media to last week to call out Tyson posting a photo of both men that was captioned. “@MikeTyson – Legend Vs Legend on PPV! When are we doing it? Just so you all know I was called for this fight. What if someone called you , “would you fight Mike”? Me,”YES”!”

Ortiz faced ridicule from a lot of people in the MMA world including former opponent turned MMA analyst Chael Sonnen who sounded off on Ortiz on his YouTube channel. Tyson though seemed to take the call out seriously and responded to the Ortiz fight offer during an interview with TMZ. He seemed pretty open to taking on the MMA veteran in a charity fight, he said.

“I don’t really know but listen — anyone that’s willing to contribute to this charity, they’re welcome to come in and challenge me. I would be open for anyone.”

Ortiz who is riding a three-fight win streak has clearly taken that Tyson’s comments seriously. So seriously, he has put together a promo video to hype up a fight. And just a heads up, it’s over eight minutes long! Check it out below….

Do you think Tito Ortiz has any chance of being chosen to face Mike Tyson in his boxing comeback?

John Fury Ken Shamrock Mike Tyson Boxing Match Up

With Mike Tyson’s signing his recent training video off with “I’m back”, many began to speculate about whether or not the former youngest boxing heavyweight champion in history’ would be making a return to the ring. The potential comeback not only drew interest from the former boxer and bare-knuckle fighter John Fur and long-time rival Evander Holyfield but also former UFC and Bellator heavyweight Ken Shamrock.

In an interview with Fight Network, Shamrock was asked if Mike Tyson’s comeback speculation had influenced a potential Shamrock comeback to which Shamrock responded with “I’m always hungry to fight”. (H/T Bjpenn)

“That’s in my DNA. I love doing it, I’ve always loved doing it. At the same time I’ve also got to be smart too, and understand that it has to be something that makes sense if I’m going to get in the ring. I’m not going to fight some 27-year-old in his prime. It would be ridiculous for me to do that” Shamrock said.

“But if something made sense, I would do it, I love competing, I’ve always loved competing. Someone like Mike Tyson would be a perfect fight for me, because it’s something I love doing.”

“I love competing and I love competing against the best, so it’d be a perfect scenario for me.” With Shamrock being 56 years old and Tyson being 53, could this potential match-up be enough to draw the two out of an early retirement?

With the Mayweather v McGregor fight being such a huge success, it is hard to argue that the idea of ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson vs Ken Shamrock wouldn’t attract fans of both sports, especially with both heavyweights finishing their careers with losses offering redemption to both.

Would a Mike Tyson and Ken Shamrock fight be one you’d like to see?
