Bellator Dublin was headlined by a bantamweight matchup between James Gallagher and Roman Salazar. Bellator 227 was headlined by a lightweight scrap between Benson Henderson and newly-acquired Myles Jury. It was a great night of fights from Dublin, which even Conor McGregor showed up for.

Former UFC featherweight Myles Jury recently signed with Bellator and will be put into headliner status right away.

Jury only signed with the Santa Monica-based promotion a couple of days ago and appearing on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday, revealed he would headline Bellator 227 against Benson Henderson in a lightweight contest.

“I’m happy to continue my MMA journey with Bellator,” Jury said in a statement. “I’m excited to return to work against a guy like Benson [Henderson] and immediately make an impact in Bellator’s lightweight division. I’m only 30 years old and still believe that my best years are ahead of me.”

Bellator 227 takes place September 27 in Dublin, Ireland. Bellator Dublin takes place the same night with James Gallagher taking on Cal Ellenor as the headliner. Similar to Bellator London and Bellator 223 last month, the two events will be broadcast through multiple outlets and follow a similar schedule:

Longtime UFC veteran Myles Jury has signed a multi-fight contract with Bellator MMA a source has disclosed to LowKickMMA. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.

Jury had been with the UFC since 2012, competing in the Las Vegas-based promotion’s lightweight and featherweight divisions. He ends his run with the UFC on a two-fight losing streak against both Chad Mendes and Andre Fili. Over the course of his career Jury has defeated notable opponents such as Michael Johnson, Diego Sanchez, and Takanori Gomi.

He currently holds a record of 17-4. His four losses came against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Charles Oliveira, Mendes, and Fili. The 30-year-old will compete for Bellator at lightweight, and is expected to make his debut for the promotion before the end of the year.
