Zuffa will continue a huge month of June with its fourth MMA event this Sunday night, UFC on Versus 4 from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. As always, Bleacher Report will be your home for the latest news, predictions and results of the event.

The main event will feature the welterweight debut of former middleweight contender Nate “The Great” Marquardt as he fights up-and-comer Rick Story in what will likely be a very important bout when it comes to future title aspirations for both men.

That fight will replace the original main event which was scheduled to be Marquardt against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, who recently thoroughly beat Dan Hardy at UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis in late-March. Johnson was forced out of the bout, though, with a rotator cuff injury.

The event will air on Versus in the U.S. and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada, with the preliminary fights being available on Facebook. The following is the official finalized fight card.

Preliminary Card (on Facebook):

Michael Johnson vs. Edward Faaloloto (lightweight bout)
Ricardo Lamas vs. Matt Grice (featherweight bout)
Nik Lentz vs. Charles Oliveira (lightweight bout)
Charlie Brenneman vs. TJ Grant (welterweight bout)
Daniel Roberts vs. Rich Attonito (welterweight bout)
Joe Lauzon vs. Curt Warburton (lightweight bout)
Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vasquez (featherweight bout)
Tyson Griffin vs. Manny Gamburyan (featherweight bout)

Main Card (on Versus):

Matt Mitrione vs. Christian Morecraft (heavyweight bout)
Matt Brown vs. John Howard (welterweight bout)
Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry (heavyweight bout)
Nate Marquardt vs. Rick Story (welterweight bout)

Keyboard Warriors: No Suit For Tito

Happy Monday, Nation. We hope you had a good weekend. No, really, we hope you’re in a good mood, since we’re presenting the second installment of Keyboard Warrior. Hopefully everyone had naked funtime last night, slept like a baby, and had a great breakfast this morning. Otherwise, we imagine there will be lots of very not-nice things in the comments.

We’ve changed up the appearance of KBW, making it look more like a typical MMA forum, complete with the kind of critical information any Keyboard Warrior should have for important discussion, like join date and number of posts. Maybe now it won’t seem like we’re blatantly ripping off other peoples’ ideas.

You can read the first episode here (all two pages of it), check out number two, and then you’re welcome to leave suggestions, ideas, and odes to our greatness below.

Thanks again to WithLeather and @MrBrandonStroud for letting us blatantly rip off their ideas.

Brock Lesnar’s battle with diverticulitis continued this week as we learned via UFC President Dana White that he had recently undergone surgery to repair his colon. The surgery will keep the heavyweight powerhouse out until the beginning of 2012, according to White.

He was originally scheduled to fight Junior dos Santos in the main event of UFC 131, but obviously that won’t be happening. So who should his next opponent be when he gets back in the Octagon?

If he’s hoping to make a successful return, Lesnar will need to be smart with whatever fight he accepts. The last time he was battling diverticulitis, he got right back in the cage against Shane Carwin even though he admitted that he wasn’t nearly back to 100-percent during the fight.

Sure, he beat Carwin, but things looked pretty dire in the first round when the former University of Minnesota wrestler was nearly finished on numerous occasions.

If Carwin was in peak physical condition himself and didn’t gas-out, we may still be talking about him as the UFC Heavyweight Champion right now.

So in order to avoid another potentially crazy matchup like that, let’s take a look at the five opponents Lesnar should take in order to have a successful return to the UFC.

Alan Belcher to Dip His Toe Back Into the UFC Middleweight Pool Against Jason MacDonald at UFN 25 in September

(“I’m fighting Jason who??”)

The UFC announced today that UFC middleweight contender Alan Belcher’s first fight back from a career-threatening eye injury will be against New Glasgow, Nova Scotia native Jason MacDonald in the Biloxi, Mississippi native’s backyard of New Orleans, Louisiana on September 17. The event is aptly named UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou.

4-1 in his last 5 outings including wins over Wilson Gouveia, Patrick Cote, Denis Kang and Ed Herman and a questionable split decision loss to Yoshihiro Akiyama, Belcher (16-6) was mentioned as a potential championship contender before a detached retina sidelined him for almost a year. Although MacDonald (25-15) is by no means a cake walk fight for Belcher, it’s likely that the bout with the recently re-signed Canadian is thought of by the UFC brass as more of a tune-up fight for “The Talent.”

Following a disappointing 0-2 finish to his last UFC stint in as many fights his last time around in the promotion, MacDonald, like Belcher is now also 4-1 in his last outings. The difference between both fighter’s similar recent records is the level of competition they faced. MacDonald’s wins came against UFC cast-offs Matt Horwich, Solomon Hutcherson and Vernon White. After a horrific leg break cost him his last fight early in the first round of his UFC return bout at UFC 113 last May, MacDonald rebounded in his next fight to finish Ryan Jensen by triangle choke at UFC 129 in Toronto in April. Jensen, who was 2-4 in the Octagon was let go as a result of the loss.

The promotion also announced today that TUF 11 winner Court McGee will also take on Dong Yi Yang on the card.

McGee (13-1) hasn’t fought since defeating Jensen (again by triangle choke) at UFC 121 in October because of an MCL tear that forced him out of  a planned UFC 131 bout with Jesse Bongfeldt. He’ll have a tough customer to deal with in Yang (10-1), who is 1-1 in the Octagon after rebounding from a loss against Chris Camozzi at UFC 121 with an impressive TKO win over Rob Kimmons at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann this past March.

The UFC did not mention whether or not the Belcher-MacDonald fight would act as the night’s main event or whether or not NOLA native Pat Barry will be on the card, but there’s a good possibility of both being announced in the coming weeks.

News broke on Thursday afternoon that Brock Lesnar was being forced out of his UFC 131 fight with Junior dos Santos after another bout with diverticulitis.

Fellow UFC heavyweight fighter Pat Barry has apparently gotten wind of some folks saying that the real reason Lesnar is pulling out of the fight is not diverticulitis, but fear of the hard-hitting Dos Santos.

Barry took to Twitter, writing in all caps, to blast those doubters: “TOTALLY OUT OF CHARACTER FOR ME – BUT MY FRIEND HAD A RELAPSE OF SOMETHING THAT ALMOST KILLED HIM AND LEFT HIS WIFE A WIDOW AND KIDS FATHERLESS! AAAAAAANYBODY GOT SOMETHING S****Y TO SAY ABOUT HIM DUCKING A FIGHT OR BEING SCARED, COME FIND ME AND I’LL HEAR YOU OUT EYE TO EYE!!”

Someone then tweeted that Lesnar was indeed afraid of dos Santos with Barry answering that message with a friendly invite: “ILL BE IN PHILLY IN A FEW WEEKS COUSIN, AND IF U GOT THE SAND WE’LL CHAT THERE, U HEAR ME!!!”

Lesnar is currently exploring his options, but he did make one thing clear: He does not plan on retiring from the UFC.

Shane Carwin has been slotted into Lesnar’s spot for the June 11 fight card, which will take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
