Quinton Jackson has only made three appearances with Bellator MMA, but he seems to already have regrets about leaving the world’s top MMA promotion.

Last month, Rampage posted a message on his Twitter that suggested he isn’t happy with his current situation on the Bellator MMA roster. The former UFC champion hasn’t expanded on his comment, but it appears possible Jackson could entertain an eventual return to the Octagon.

On Monday, Bellator MMA figurehead Scott Coker told Ariel Helwani and MMAFighting.com that he still expects Rampage to continue competing with his organization. So, Jackson making a UFC return could still be a long shot, but it no longer seems to be out of the question.

Should he eventually make his way back to the Octagon, here are the five most intriguing matchups available to Jackson as a UFC fighter.

Brother to the UFC lightweight champion, Sergio Pettis didn’t immediately rise to the top in his own division. However, at 21 years old, he has the potential to be a contender at 135 pounds.

On Saturday, Pettis will meet Matt Hobar on the UFC 181 preliminary card. The matchup will give Pettis a good chance to record consecutive victories for the first time in his young UFC career.

He is one of many young stars to emerge from RFA, a promotion that has positioned itself as a proving ground for fighters who are looking to earn their way onto the UFC roster. It’s a unique approach, but RFA appears to be doing exactly what it set out to do.

Here are the 10 best UFC fighters to have competed under the RFA banner.

Exciting stylistic matchups, title tilts and much more help round out the action. This isn’t a scientific list, and you may have your own favorite upcoming fights. Title bouts and interesting storylines helped to elevate some matchups up the list.

This ranking features fights in seven different weight classes.

These are the top 15 fights you’ll see starting Saturday through February’s UFC 184 pay-per-view.

The Biggest MMA Turkeys in 2014

I love the holidays. The story ideas are so easy. I can just name a bunch of things about MMA I don’t like and, boom, biggest turkeys. And it’s a recurring thing, too.

But this Thanksgiving, it’s more than a mere gimmick. This has not been a banner year for MMA. Did it have its moments? Sure it did. But were most of those moments bad? Yeah.

With the arrests and the subpar fight cards, being a hardcore fan has felt more like a guilty pleasure (or a chore) in 2014 than it has in quite a while.

Enter the turkeys list. I’m going to do what I always try to do when presented with an opportunity: take advantage. I have to take advantage of that opportunity. So here goes—the biggest turkeys, listed in no particular order.

With Thanksgiving only a day away, there are several UFC fighters who should be a little more grateful this year.

You hear it time and time again: never leave the fight in the hands of the judges. Apparently that message hasn’t resonated with Diego Sanchez. Like Sanchez, there have been a number of fighters this year who have been the recipients of controversial split decisions and questionable stoppages.

Yoel Romero, Johny Hendricks and Rafael dos Anjos have seen their stock rise, albeit without some suspect referee work or judging. As the maddening cliche goes, no one is perfect, and there could be cases made advocating for both men in each bout.

For this particular ranking, stipulations (top-10 seeding, title implications) surrounding bouts will be taken into account, but so will the validity of the ruling itself. Before we make it to the five fortunate men, let’s take a look at a couple of honorable mentions.

With a dominant win over Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 57, Frankie Edgar is back in the running for a shot at featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

Although Edgar has only made three appearances since losing to Aldo in February 2013, he’s stopped Swanson and BJ Penn in back-to-back outings. The Answer also arguably came closer to dethroning Aldo than any other UFC title challenger.

Could this victory over Swanson be enough to get Edgar back into the pound-for-pound rankings? Here are the latest official UFC rankings, via UFC.com, which are voted on by several MMA media members.
