Joe Rogan says Joe Pyfer hits harder than Francis Ngannou

Of all the people you’d suspect of hitting harder than Francis Ngannou, middleweight prospect Joe Pyfer probably wasn’t one of them.

During a recent episode of his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the long-time UFC commentator revealed that Pyfer broke the former heavyweight champion’s record on a punch machine an incredible three times.

“That motherf*cker hits so hard,” Rogan said of Pyfer. “We should tell everybody that he broke Francis Ngannou’s record on that punch machine”.

However, according to Rogan’s guest, Sean Brady, the owner of the machine did not want to give Joe Pyfer the record because he “didn’t believe how hard he [Pyfer] was hitting it.”

“He didn’t believe it was real,” Brady said.

In 2018, Ngannou put his power to the test on a PowerKube punch machine. The Cameroonian registered a strike power of 129,161 units.

“Francis Ngannou has the world record for the most powerful punch, his punch is the equivalent to 96 horsepower which is equal to getting hit by a Ford Escort going as fast as it can,” Dana White said of his former fighter. “And it’s more powerful than a 12-pound sledgehammer swung full force from overhead. Holy sh*t!”

We’re not sure if Joe Pyfer can hit with the same power as a speeding automobile, but he’s certainly made a case for himself after scoring impressive back-to-back first-round knockouts against Alen Amedovski and Gerald Meerschaert. He followed up those wins up with a submission victory over Abdul Razak Alhassan in October.

Making his first appearance inside the Octagon in more than a year, Brady bounced back from his first career loss with a dominant performance against former interim title contender Kelvin Gastelum. After submitting the TUF alumnus with a kimura in the third round, Brady called for a clash with rising welterweight contender Ian Garry during his Octagon interview.

Brady elaborated on his comments during his appearance at the post-fight press event, making it abundantly clear that his callout of ‘The Future’ was a bit of business and a lot of personal.

“Just the way he went about his whole thing with his team, it rubbed me the wrong way. He rubs the sport the wrong way,” Brady said. “I’m a true professional in the sport, and I just don’t like the way he walks around with the cameras and goes into the gym- he’s getting kicked out of Leon Edwards’ gym. Like he’s just always talking sh*t about people, and it’s wack. I think he’s wack, and I’ll ragdoll him. I think he’s the easiest fight in the division.”

Sean Brady doesn’t see Ian Garry getting past vicente luque

Before Garry and his wife were getting slammed by middleweight champ Sean Strickland, ‘The Future’ was reportedly booted from Team Renegade, the gym that hosts current welterweight titleholder Leon Edwards. Garry initially placed the blame squarely on Edwards’ shoulders by suggesting that ‘Rocky’ is “weak-minded” and afraid of a little competition on the mats.

Representatives with Team Renegade disputed those comments, saying that Garry was “not adding to the team’s culture.”

‘The Future’ will return to the Octagon on December 16 for a showdown with No. 8 ranked contender Vicente Luque. If Garry manages to get past Luque at the UFC’s final pay-per-view of the year, Sean Brady would love the opportunity to quiet the Irishman himself.

“If he can get through Vicente Luque, which I don’t think he will, because Luque is an amazing fighter. I heard they’re coming to Atlantic City in March. So we’ll see…if he wants to get into it on social media, it is what it is. But when we get into that cage, I’m going to do the same thing that I just did to Kelvin to him” (h/t MMA Mania).”

Welterweight standout Sean Brady got back into the win column in a big way at UFC Austin on Saturday night.

More than a year removed from the first loss of his mixed martial arts career, Brady delivered a dominant performance against former UFC interim title challenger Kelvin Gastelum. The TUF alumnus had no answer to Brady’s perfectly-timed takedowns which kept Gastelum in a compromising position for a majority of the contest.

In the third round, Brady scored yet another takedown in the opening seconds and quickly moved into mount. Fishing for an arm triangle, Gastelum worked his way out of the hold but gave up his arm in the process which allowed Brady to snatch the limb and lock in an armbar that forced Gastelum to tap out.

Official Result: Sean Brady def. Kelvin Gastelum via submission (armbar) at 1:43 of Round 3.

An intense banger is coming to the UFC’s welterweight division as Jack Della Maddalena and Sean Brady have agreed to throw down at UFC 290 on July 8th in Las Vegas.

As confirmed by MMA Fighting after an initial Twitter report, this welterweight scrap seems to be signed, sealed, and ready to deliver some explosive fireworks.

JDM is riding an impressive four-fight win streak, all via finishes after originally breaking into the UFC thanks to a shot on Dana White‘s Contender Series back in 2021. For Sean Brady, this will be his redemption fight as the previously undefeated prospect suffered the first loss in his professional career at the hands of Belal Muhammad back in October of 2022.

Jack Della Maddalena and Brady are set to join a PPV card that is looking to be a night of amazing fights. Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez are set to headline the card. Rodriguez will be looking to end Volkanovski’s flawless reign as champion at UFC 290 and unify the interim and undisputed championships.

UFC welterweight contender Gilbert Burns is planning to make a statement at Sean Brady’s expense on Saturday night.

The pair will headline this weekend’s UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas, with Burns tasked with defending his #6 position on the divisional ladder off the back of consecutive defeats.

After falling short across five rounds against then-future champion Belal Muhammad in May 2023, an injury suffered in that fight kept “Durinho” on the sidelines until this past April’s UFC 299 pay-per-view in Miami.

Although he was just less than two minutes away from a crucial bounce-back victory on the scorecards, he was the victim of a late comeback from Jack Della Maddalena, who rallied to stop him by way of TKO.

Burns Envisions Emphatic Finish Of Brady To Secure Title Eliminator

During a recent interview with Kevin Iole, Burns looked ahead to his second Octagon assignment of 2024, detailing his hopes for fight night and what he anticipates coming as a result of a strong display.

Despite losing two on the bounce and slipping outside the top five at 170 pounds, “Durinho” believes the manner of his performance this weekend could determine whether he earns a title eliminator next time out, especially if he can go above and beyond what now-champ Muhammad accomplished at Brady’s expense back in 2022.

“I do believe if I go out there and look phenomenal against Sean Brady, then I get another guy, maybe Leon (Edwards), Colby (Covington), Kamaru (Usman). Then beat one of those guys, then I’m there, on the top,” Burns said. “I do believe if I do my homework this Saturday good, show up there and finish Sean Brady, you know, better than Belal did — if I go out there and after that, for sure rest a little bit, come back with a good training camp and beat one of the top guys, I’m there fighting for the title.”

Burns will look to move closer to his late-career second title shot coming to fruition this weekend by making good on his vow to stop Brady in violent fashion when they headline Saturday’s UFC Fight Night at the Apex.
