We know we asked Strikeforce for a hot chick to face Gina Carano…and that’s not to say we didn’t get one, but… There’s a reason someone nicknamed Sarah D’Alelio, “The Monster” right? I mean, don’t call us jerks! We didn’t do it!

MMAJunkie says the two are reportedly set to meet in the cage this June 18th in Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum. The article clarifies the fight has yet to be signed by either party, but should the tilt happen, both fighters will have an axe to grind as each of their last fights were the first losses suffered on their professional records.
Well, it hardly feels like a tournament when the last time we saw any Quarterfinal action from the Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tournament was back in February where Antonio “Big Foot” Silva knocked Fedor Emelianenko out of the running and Sergei Kharitonov that should have retired Andrei Arlovski. But finally we will see the second half of these Quarterfinals coming this June 18th in Dallas.
Alistair Overeem is still set to take on Fabricio Werdum and Brett Rogers will still face Josh Barnett. We have to congratulate Strikeforce for hanging in there and still trying to see this tournament through, but at this rate it may take a couple years the entire year to crown a winner. Tickets for this upcoming Quarterfinal event are on sale this Friday, April 15th.

Since the Fedor Emelianenko nation was completely silenced by Antonio Silva in February (other than perhaps some mild to moderate weeping), the rumor mill surrounding the legendary Russian heavyweight has been running overtime; will Fedor retire? Will he change sh-t up training camp wise? And what about Zuffa buying up Strikeforce? Fedor’s crew and Mr. Dana White aren’t exactly ‘bestest buddies’.
Well, it appears as though the former Pride champ could be throwing down sometime this summer, as Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has confirmed to several MMA outlets that Fedor will indeed look to end his two fight losing streak (how effin weird does that sound?). Speaking to MMA Weekly, Coker stated:
“He’ll be back in July/August sometime. As far as the opponent, we are talking to him right now, so give us a few weeks on that one,”
In a report from Sherdog, Coker confirmed that M-1 Global (the aforementioned pals of Dana…) will continue to co-promote events with Strikeforce, despite being purchased by Zuffa. Coker also added that Fedor fighting in an alternate bout for the promotion’s heavyweight grand-prix is “definitely a possibility.” In other words, looks like the pitch that some have made for Fedor to drop to 205, hasn’t exactly ‘resonated’ with the heavyweight.
In any case, it looks like we can all look forward to some serious ‘can you imagine if he loses again’ drama this summer.
One of this week’s hottest topics has been regarding recent reports that Fedor Emelianenko is considering taking on newly minted Strikeforce Light-Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson, later this year. Hendo’s into it, the promotion’s CEO Scott Coker apparently said there’s been “preliminary” discussions about it, so maybe this thing’s gonna happen right?
Well, maybe not. Of course […]

Hendo’s into it, the promotion’s CEO Scott Coker apparently said there’s been “preliminary” discussions about it, so maybe this thing’s gonna happen right?
Well, maybe not. Of course if you’ve followed the career of Fedor over the last few years, then you know that trying to bank on anything regarding the Russian star is as uncertain as what’s going to come out of Chael Sonnen’s mouth next. Why are we shatting on the Hendo vs. Fedor talk? (A fight that yes, would be totally awesome) Well, it seems like Fedor’s management M-1 Global, has no effin idea why anyone is talking about the potential super fight to begin with.
According to a report from MMA Junkie today, M-1 Global’s Evgeni Kogan says “There have been no discussions with us,” about the fight, and that further, “Any discussions have been solely on the other side of the Atlantic.” Wow; a denial that includes a geography lesson as well.
Kogan reportedly went on to say that from his point of view at least, Fedor meeting Hendo is “not a fight that makes any sense,” and that it’s more likely that the heavyweight will face the loser of the upcoming Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum tilt, next.
Huh. Maybe Fedor’s content to keep rolling with the big boys from here on out after all?
You know what they say about big heads? Big brains! And apparently Antonio Silva’s got one big sharp brain he used to beat Fedor Emelianenko. You know what they say about big heads? Big brains! And apparently Antonio Silva’s got one big sharp brain he used to beat Fedor Emelianenko. Fighters Only produced this interview from Fedor’s coach, Vladimir Voronov in which he blames “forbidden psychological technologies” that “could not be seen by the naked eye” for Fedor’s loss. Voronov’s interview was given to Russian website, Lifesports.Ru and we’re not sure how good the translation provided is, but here’s what it looked like at Fighters Only:
“We believe that forbidden psychological technology was used… It seems to us that not everything was right, and that certain technologies were used. Not ones that could be seen by the naked eye but psychological technologies that worked on both fighters at a distance. That is why during the fight Fedor was just not like himself. It seemed very strange behaviour from Fedor. He stepped into the ring and did everything exactly the opposite of what we practiced before the fight. We were all shocked! Fedor had never previously done such a thing. Now nearly a week passes, everything settles, and we understand why all this happened.”
The article goes on to say “‘Voronov also observed with suspicion the fact that Fedor seemed to look “a little depressed” while Silva “literally glowed from the overflowing of his energy”. Voronov suspects the use of a person or persons in the audience capable of “blocking energy” and “transferring energy from one person to another’”
In reaction to all this serious suspicion, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva’s manager Alex Davis turned to the underground forums of MixedMartialArts.com to admit to the mind games! Davis said:
“Jeez!! I got [caught!] I will have to come out with the truth now! I hired a Macumbeiro and we killed a black chicken on the crossroads. After this, over a few beers, I showed the witch doctor Fedor’s fights, and he was worried that a chicken wouldn’t be enough, so we went out and killed a black goat just to make sure! Very potent stuff! Really messed Fedor’s brain waves up! We wanted to try that other military stuff Voronov is talking about, but it’s expensive technology and we were broke! The chicken and the goat came out way cheaper. Witch doctor is a friend; [he] did it for a few beers and an autograph!”
Now we at Fix get it… haha Davis is mocking the accusations…. but they do say that people who are lying use a lot of detail in their stories. And this above, my friends, is a lot of detail from Alex Davis. So we’re gonna go ahead and side with the crazy Russians here and bank on that mind control theory. We just hope the athletic commissions figure out some kind of mind control testing as a future preventative measure.

It was a shocking loss suffered by Fedor Emelianenko in tonight’s Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament. Though many felt the first round was even between Fedor and Antonio “Big Foot” Silva. It was clear Silva dominated the “The Last Emperor” throughout the entire second round, leading to a TKO stoppage before going into the third. This is Fedor’s second loss in a row, bringing his record to 32-3-0 with 1 No Contest. Watch video highlights of their fight below:
Andrei Arlovski also lost against Sergei Kharitonov via KO in the first round. Arlovski has now lost his last four fights.
