Before he steps inside the Octagon to meet former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, check out this fight replay featuring Tony Ferguson.

Back in December, Ferguson took on sixth-ranked Edson Barboza in a key meeting. The former Ultimate Fighter winner had no trouble executing his game plan, submitting Barboza and continuing his winning ways.

Dos Anjos and Ferguson are set to collide on November 5 from Mexico City on FOX Sports 1.

After what must have felt like an eternity to Michael Bisping, he was finally able to avenge his stinging defeat to Dan Henderson at UFC 204 last Saturday night (October 8, 2016).

Although Bisping won the fight via unanimous decision, a good number of onlookers thought that Henderson should have had his arm raised as the winner.

It’s hardly a surprise, though; just take a look at the Englishmen’s face after the bout – it looks as if he had been put through a meat grinder. In the first round, ‘Hendo’ was able to land a hellacious overhand right, dubbed the ‘H-Bomb’, which caused Bisping to fall to the canvas which created a nasty gash under Bisping’s left eye. Henderson would later catch him again with another ‘H-Bomb’, this time in the second round, staggering the champion and sending him to the canvas yet again.

During his post-fight speech, Henderson said that he believes that he should have won the fight, if only fights were not judged in the manner of which they currently are.

Henderson’s statement caught the attention of the No. 3-ranked lightweight contender Tony Ferguson, who took to Twitter with a message of idolization for the former Pride Champion. Of course it was not taken well by Bisping, which lead to a brief verbal exchange from the two:

Unless both men decide to make compromises given the obvious difference in weight, this small exchange between the ‘The Count’ and ‘El Cucuy’ will most likely stay put on social media.

Ferguson will take on Rafael Dos Anjos in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 (TUF Latin America 3), live on FS1 from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico on November 5, 2016.

Tony Ferguson On McGregor-Alvarez: “Give The Crowd A Fight, A Good Bloody War”

Tony Ferguson has his own career to worry about, as the red-hot lightweight contender meets former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos in November.

But, that doesn’t mean “El Cucuy” is ignoring all the talk centering around UFC 205 and the lightweight title fight between champion Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor.

Recently, Ferguson appeared on “Submission Radio” to give his thoughts on the encounter:

“Honestly, I hope they both knock each other out to be perfectly honest. It’d be kind of cool, we haven’t seen a double KO in a while. I just hope it’s a good fight. (There’s) a lot of shit talk, a lot of hype and stuff. I just hope it’s more than one round. Give the crowd a fight. Give them something that everybody wants to see, which is a good bloody war.”

As for his main event fight in Mexico City with dos Anjos, Ferguson sees himself taking RDA to “snap down city.”

“I’m gonna snap his ass down. I’m gonna put him in snap down city and I’m gonna get him so lost in that place that he has no idea and I’m gonna choke him out. That’s going to come after a barrage of strikes. I’m gonna hit that nose and make his eyes water and make him shoot – It happens with everybody – and once he does, I’m gonna cut him up with my elbows and I’m gonna stuff some knees in there. If he tries to take me down, I’m gonna put him in 10th Planet territory and it’s over for RDA.”

Anthony Pettis Calls Out Michael Johnson – Or Jose Aldo

Immediately after Michael Johnson knocked out Dustin Poirier with a devastating two-punch combo in the main event of last night’s (Sat., September 17, 2016) UFC Fight Night 94 (highlights here) from Hidalgo, Texas, “The Menace” already has another potential high-profile dance partner lined up.

Following his own impressive win over Charles Oliveira in his featherweight debut at August’s UFC on FOX 21, former lightweight champion somewhat surprisingly took to Twitter to call out “Menace,” who obviously fights at his old home. If he can’t get that bout, however, he’ll take on interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo:

“The Menace” was quick to answer the callout when asked about it by FOX Sports’ UFC’s Karyn Bryant:

Johnson noted that Pettis just cut down to featherweight after three losses in a row at lightweight, so the callout did confuse him a bit. While he noted he had called out “Showtime” years ago, he was obviously willing to take him on in an effort to sign on for the biggest fight possible:

“If Anthony Pettis fights ’55, I’m pretty sure he dropped to ’45, didn’t he? I’m pretty sure I called him out. Yeah, I called him out a long time ago and he went to ’45. But hey, if he wants to fight, Anthony, I’m your man. I’m all for it. He’s a great ex-champ and he’s a great guy and I would love to fight him.”

There’s no doubt a bout between knockout strikers like Pettis and Johnson would be a great addition to any event. It may also be the right time for such a fight, as it appears lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez will face featherweight champion Conor McGregor while No. 2 Rafael dos Anjos meets No. 3 Tony Ferguson in the main event of November 5’s UFC Fight Night 98 from Mexico City, Mexico. Unless “Menace” faces No. 1 Khabib Nurmagomedov, a fight with “Showtime” is possible.

If that doesn’t work out, Aldo has already expressed interest in a fight with Pettis, believing it to be a ‘money fight’ like Johnson that he would have an easier chance of winning than he would against surging 145-pounder Max Holloway. “Showtime” stormed onto the featherweight rankings at No. 6, and it appears the future is bright for him there.

If he returns to lightweight to face Johnson, we’ll just have to wait and see.
