Michael Bisping has put praise onto Jake Paul following his devastating KO of Tyron Woodley this past weekend whilst speaking on an episode of his Believe You Me podcast.

Paul and Woodley faced each other once again come Saturday night and although many fans again were disappointed with the performances of both, that all soon changed when Paul landed an overhand-right which sent Woodley faceplanting to the canvas in the 6th round.

The former UFC Champion praised Paul for the power he was able to generate within that shot and highlighted how it wasn’t something he was able to do during his long and successful career.

“I’ll tell you this. Here’s another thing, he’s knocked out everybody that he’s faced. He knocked out Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Nate Robinson. And I’ll tell you what, that knockout of Woodley there – I’ve had about 40 professional MMA fights, boxing fights, kickboxing fights – I’ve never slept anyone like that. You know what I mean? That was a f***ing knockout and a half.”

Michael Bisping labels Paul vs. Woodley 2 a ‘sh*t show’

However, like many fans, Michael Bisping was disappointed with the overall performance of both men inside the ring. Until the knockout blow came there had been very little of anything from either fighter.

“I did watch it, the debacle that it was. It wasn’t really a fight, it’s always tricky talking about Tyron Woodley because I like Tyron a lot, but what a s*** show! What a s*** show that was, f*** me, even their own commentators were talking s*** about it and saying, ‘what is this?’ I forget what the exact quotes were but they weren’t very complimentary. There was a lot of hugging, there wasn’t too much fighting and fortunately for Jake Paul, he managed to get the knockout in the sixth round.” (Transcribed by sportskeeda.com)

Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley remains optimistic about his combat-sports future after back-to-back losses to Jake Paul in the boxing ring.

Woodley fell short of revenge against the always-polarizing Paul, getting hit by a powerful right hook that sent him collapsing to the canvas in round 6. It was a relatively uneventful fight to that point, with both fighters appearing hesitant to push the action and seeming hell-bent on working in the clinch.

Many fans in the combat sports community quickly wrote Woodley off following the knockout loss, but he remains forward-thinking ahead of the new year. During his post-fight press conference, Woodley encouraged fans not to forget his name just yet.

“I’m not done. Please don’t look at me with [sad] eyes,” Woodley said. “Please don’t look at me shaking your head. I done fucked a lot of people up. And a lot of people had to have that talk in the locker room, a lot of coaches had to go back to the drawing board, a lot of people in their mind, they knew that they knew that they knew. And I saw it in their face and it broke their heart when I took that from them.”

While Woodley was upset with the result in the rematch against Paul, he feels he’s in a great position to bounce back.

“I can’t cry over spilled milk,” Woodley continued. “I’m blessed to be here, and I’m blessed for an opportunity to fight again and show you guys that I’m fuckin’ still here. And I told my coaches in the back: I said, ‘He back. The young, hungry bull that started and went on this crazy run in the UFC, and Strikeforce, and all these different organizations: he was back. And I can actually say that I was back.”

Woodley’s comments come after he’s spoken about his plans in moderation for 2022. He’s hinted at a potential return to MMA, as well as boxing, as he approaches his 40th birthday.

Woodley was released by the UFC following four-straight losses in the Octagon. Beginning with losing his welterweight title to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235, he arguably looked like a shell of his former self in additional bouts against Gilbert Burns and Colby Covington.

Before taking the Paul rematch on short notice, Woodley had allegedly been working towards a boxing return in January. Former UFC welterweight Dan Hardy had reportedly been on a small list of potential opponents for his next fight.

It’s unclear what exactly is next for the former UFC champion, but Woodley seems hell-bent on continuing to compete in multiple aspects of fighting moving forward.

Jake Paul is looking to pair up previous opponent Tyron Woodley and former NFL player Le’Veon Bell for a boxing match.

Paul scored a highlight-reel knockout over Woodley this weekend, marking his fifth pro win as a boxer. This win drew the attention of many who thought they could take him in the ring.

Of the many challengers is former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell, who issued a challenge via Twitter. Paul expressed disinterest in this fight, passing the challenge to former UFC Welterweight Champion Woodley.

“[Paul,] fight me, stop tryna fight ppl who can’t box,” said Bell via Twitter on Saturday night.

“Aye [Woodley] this clown saying you can’t box. How about you show him as part of the next MVP event? Tyron would drop you faster than the Ravens,” said Paul, referring to Bell’s short run with the Baltimore Ravens this year which concluded after the team cut him in November.

Woodley would respond to Bell’s challenge directly, warning the former NFL pro not to underestimate him based on one knockout loss.

“Cause i made one mistake you think it’s sweet? Don’t get it f*cked up homeboy,” said Woodley.

Woodley may well be interested in taking on Bell, having retweeted Paul’s comment on the situation and posting his own status.

Paul’s promoter, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), is no stranger to letting footballers lace up boxing gloves. Long-time San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore fought just this weekend in an exhibition against former NBA player Deron Williams.

While Woodley hopes to fight in MMA again someday, he recently noted that he is open to doing more boxing as well. A fight against Bell would give him the opportunity to score his first win in the sport.

Tyron Woodley’s mother Deborah did not feel like answering any questions after seeing her son get brutally knocked out by Jake Paul on Saturday night.

Momma Woodley was in attendance to watch ‘The Chosen One’ try to exact his revenge over Paul at the Amalie Arena in Florida. Earlier this year, the YouTuber eked out a split decision win over her son to improve his boxing record to 4-0. This past weekend, Paul delivered on his promise to “f*ck up” ‘T-Wood’ who he shockingly knocked out cold in the sixth round.

As Momma Woodley was exiting the arena she was asked what went wrong for her son tonight. Deborah clearly didn’t like the line of questioning and got up in the unknown man’s face and yelled. “What the f*ck do you think mother f*cker? What went wrong with you?

Tyron Woodley Explained What Went Wrong Later That Evening

Luckily, Tyron Woodley was much happier fielding questions about his latest defeat and did so in front of a packed room of reporter’s post-fight. The former UFC champion explained that a momentary lapse led to him suffering perhaps the most vicious and definitely the most embarrassing defeat of his long fight career.

“I thought I was winning, it wasn’t a landslide,” Woodley told the media post-fight. “I went back and I looked at [the KO], and I’m like: ‘Why the f*** did I drop my hand?

“I had both hands up, I was ready, I knew it was coming, I was ready to block the overhand. I don’t know if he delayed it, [but] even if he didn’t delay it, I don’t know why I dropped my hand.

“In this sport, it can take literally one mistake. I blocked so many punches. Had he dropped his hand on me, the same s*** would have happened.”
