Photo of the Night: Has Brock Lesnar Shrunk?

(We’re guessing Brock is off of the Jack’s Links and Coors Light)

It looks like Roy Nelson isn’t the only UFC heavyweight who could stand to drop down a weight class. Unless they used some trick camerawork to make former WWE and UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar look smaller for this new WWE 12 video game promo for some unknown reason, the formerly massive 34-year-old Webster, South Dakota native has lost considerable mass since his last bout against Cain Velasquez a year ago.

Either his his reemerging diverticulitis caused him to lose weight or he has focused more on his cardio this time around. Whatever the reason is for his dramatically leaner look, hopefully his strength isn’t depleted from the transformation or else he could be in for a long (or short) night against Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on December 30.

Check out the comparison photos after the jump.

Notice that Brock didn’t used to have a neck and his face was less defined.

And here’s his silhouette taken from the WWE 12 game promo.

Chael Sonnen: "Alistair Overeem is Not a Very Good Fighter"

The world has been buzzing about Alistair Overeem’s UFC arrival for over a month.

This is baffling to former middleweight title contender Chael Sonnen, who doesn’t seem too impressed with “The Reem’s” body of work.

“(Overeem) is built for show, not for go. He’s made for a poster, he looks like he’s made out of clay. I understand all of that stuff,” Sonnen said on ESPN’s MMA Live.

“He’s not a very good fighter, and as far as the K-1 being this great striking event, the K-1 is a striking-only event. If you’re in the K-1, you’re only allowed to strike, but I’ve never seen a great striker there. I could discredit the K-1 with two syllables––Bob Sapp.”

Before signing with the UFC, Overeem held multiple world titles including the Strikeforce heavyweight title, Dream heavyweight title and K-1 World Grand Prix title.

Apparently, Sonnen isn’t impressed with the latter, which is the primary reason fans have backed the resurging heavyweight over the years.

Overeem made history by being the only fighter in combat sports to hold a world title in MMA and K-1 at the same time.

There are still plenty of critics surrounding Overeem, but he’ll get an opportunity to silence some of them at UFC 141, when he meets former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in what is sure to be a blockbuster main event.

The gargantuan showdown between Alistair Overeem and Brock Lesnar could make UFC 141 the biggest event of 2011.

Cyril Garcia of Mixfight.nl caught up with the man known as “The Reem” outside a showing of Hollywood MMA film “Warrior.”

“I liked the movie and I think—I’m going to make a bold statement—but I think it was the best fighting movie out there,” Overeem said.

The movie has generally received positive reviews, racking up a whopping 84 percent on the Tomatometer on Rottentomatoes.com.

With that said, there won’t be any acting when Overeem meets Lesnar, a former UFC heavyweight champion.

Even though he simultaneously held the Strikeforce heavyweight title, Dream heavyweight title and K-1 World Grand Prix title, Overeem has been overlooked by some due to his success coming outside of the UFC.

Fans want to see fighters compete against the best before climbing to the top of the MMA ranks. Currently on a 10-fight win streak, Overeem has defeated stout opposition, but if he can get past Lesnar then he can begin to chip away at the skepticism surrounding his ability to be the best in the world.

“I don’t really talk about training, so there’s nothing to say there. I’m just going to do the usual. I know my body, I know how it works, and I’m very confident,” said Overeem. “It’s going to be a knockout victory in the first round. He’s not going to get out of the first round.”

UFC 141 takes place on December 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Overeem will enter this bout with a major edge in overall experience and striking, but Lesnar’s freakish athleticism and world-class wrestling should make things interesting.

The winner will be deemed the new No. 1 contender for a future UFC title bout with either Cain Velasquez or Junior Dos Santos.
