Both Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson and Glover Teixeira were looking to make a statement worthy of a light heavyweight title shot when they threw down in the co-main event of last night’s (Sat., August 20, 2016) UFC 202 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was only ‘Rumble’ that made that statement, however, and he did it emphatic, ultra-impressive fashion by knocking out the hard-nosed Brazilian with a perfectly placed right uppercut on the button that knocked him out and saw him wrestle the referee when he did wake back up.
Making a strong case for being the hardest hitter not only in current MMA but all-time, “Rumble” is most certainly deserving of a second bout against current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

Seeking revenge for the brutal second-round submission he suffered at March’s UFC 196, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor finally squared off with rival Nate Diaz in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., August 20, 2016) UFC 202 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight lived up to all the hype and circumstance, delivering a classic slugfest that McGregor took home by close majority decision. McGregor used a varied arsenal of leg kicks and straight left hands to batter the zombie-like Diaz, who somehow stayed upright to return fire and have the featherweight champ in big trouble in the middle rounds.
McGregor dug deep and won the fourth round, and even though he most likely lost the fifth, he ultimately took home the huge win. Many believe that Diaz did enough and should have gotten the nod, opening the door for a huge trilogy match in the future.

The fight lasted a whopping 13 seconds and it was Johnson who delivered the pain.
Before I could blink, “Rumble” knocked out Teixeira with an uppercut. He followed it up with two hammerfists, which he didn’t even need. Teixeira’s was so discombobulated, he tried grappling with referee Dan Miragliotta.
Post-fight, Johnson gave respect to current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, but said he’s coming for the belt.
Final Result: Anthony Johnson def. Glover Teixeira via KO (Punch) – R1, 0:13

Going into his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut at UFC 202, Mike Perry (7-0) looked to make a statement against Hyun Gyu Lim (13-6-1).
He did just that in the very first round.
Perry went for a leg kick, but the counter left hand was there for Lim. “The Ace” landed a right hand as Perry went for a body kick. Perry kept staying busy with kicks. He whiffed a left hook, but he didn’t miss the second time as Lim was dropped. Perry moved into the mounted crucifix. He kept raining down punches until Lim got back up. “The Ace” was dropped again and Perry laid down some leather. He dropped Lim for a third and final time with a left hook.
Final Result: Mike Perry def. Hyun Gyu Lim via TKO (Punches) – R1, 3:38
