The UFC’s first event in New York City is finally set to go down on November 12, 2016 when the long-awaited UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) card hits the airwaves.

While it’s too early for the promotion to make any fights official for the big-time card, you can expect the biggest names in the game to be in ‘The Big Apple’ for the colossal event.

There’s little doubting that the promotion wants to have both Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey involved if possible, and there are also some New York-born stars that they definitely want involved as well.

So how about we help Dana White and UFC brass out and start fantasy booking what could be the biggest card of the year? Here are the best matches to make for UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden.

Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino is coming hot off a first round knockout win over Leslie Smith in her UFC debut in her hometown of Curitiba, Brazil at UFC 198, and is desperate to finally get her shot at the former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey.

Less than 24-hours after defeating Smith in her hometown of Curitiba, ‘Cyborg’ called out Rousey via Twitter to a potential showdown at the UFC’s first ever event in Madison Square Garden at UFC 205:

Now Justino has taken it a step further, taunting ‘The Rowdy One’ in a new Running Man Challenge video alongside a little friend. The two are seen below wearing Rousey masks, dancing to Ghost Town DJ’s ‘My Boo’:

According to reports per FOX Sports’ Elias Cepeda, the Brazilian’s next fight is to go down at July 29th’s Invicta FC 18 event where Justino is expected to defend her featherweight title.

‘Cyborg’ is also said to be open to doing another catchweight bout in the UFC, however, only against a champion or Rousey. Following her debut at UFC 198, Justino was linked to rumors of a possible bout between Germaine de Randamie at UFC 201.

Cyborg later disputed these claims via Twitter, stating her next bout would be to defend her Invicta FC featherweight title:

No official word has yet come on when ‘Cyborg’s’ next bout will be, or if she will make a return to the UFC, however a bout with Rousey would certainly be a spectacle in of itself regardless of what card it takes place. After so much frustration and difficulty getting Justino to the UFC’s main stage, many fans had hoped she’d perhaps leave behind the Invicta title, but without a featherweight division in the UFC that would always be an unlikely scenario.

Stay with LowKick for the latest on ‘Cyborg’ and when she might make her highly-anticipated Octagon return.

I would say something different like Ronda Rousey’s UFC return is now unknown, and Conor McGregor is still awaiting his next fight, but they still appeared with one another in a very interesting picture at a photo shoot today.

The exact nature and reason of the following face-off isn’t confirmed as of now, yet the UFC’s top two stars met face-to-face courtesy of @hungry_awesome on Twitter:

McGregor seems to once again be a ‘company man’ as he is now apparently fulfilling his media obligations for the UFC, something that got him removed from UFC 200 after refusing to attend a press conference for the event in Las Vegas.

Rousey also continues to emerge from the shadows as she, for the most part, has stayed out of the public eye since her devastating upset loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne.

Reason for the photo shoot has not yet been reported, however with speculation Rousey is eyeing a November return and the fact that UFC 205 will be in New York for the first time ever falls in the same month, could the two mega-stars be set to headline the groundbreaking event?

Dana White Isn’t Sure That Ronda Rousey Will Be Ready For New York

Since the very moment that “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey was shockingly knocked unconscious by Holly Holm at November 2015’s UFC 193, fans wondered if and when she would return and attempt to recapture her long-held title. Since the very moment that “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey was shockingly knocked unconscious by Holly Holm at November 2015’s UFC 193, fans wondered if and when she would return and attempt to recapture her long-held title.

Six months later, and Rousey still hasn’t competed, and still doesn’t have a fight scheduled, although it’s expected that the ex-champion will return on November 12, 2016 at UFC 205 in New York to compete for the 135-pound strap.

UFC 205 will be a landmark event for the UFC, as it will be the promotion’s first trip to the Empire state, and its first trip to the infamous Madison Square Garden, making it logical to have a mega-star like Rousey on the card.

The scenario undoubtedly makes sense, as does the timing given the fact that current champion Miesha Tate will defend her title against Amanda Nunes at July 9’s UFC 200 from Las Vegas.

The only issue, however, seems to be that UFC President Dana White just isn’t completely sure that Rousey will be ready to return in November:

“She has as much time off as she wants or needs. Obviously, I would love her to come back sooner than later so we’ll see how that plays out but it wouldn’t be a bad thing to roll into New York with Ronda but I just don’t know if she’s going to be ready,” White revealed when speaking to “The Michael Kay Show“.

Rousey competing at UFC 205 seemed to previously be all but confirmed, although as we’ve seen so many times before, nothing is a sure thing in mixed martial arts.

White is sure of one thing, however, and that is that when Rousey does finally announce her return it will be massive:

“When she announces she’s going to be back, it’s going to be big,” White said.

Do you still expect to see Rousey at MSG?

Cris Cyborg Calls Out Ronda Rousey For Madison Square Garden Fight

Bulldozing 145-pound Invicta FC champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino finally made her long-awaited Octagon debut on the main card of last night’s (May 14, 2016) UFC 198 from her home of Curitiba, Brazil. Bulldozing 145-pound Invicta FC champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino finally made her long-awaited Octagon debut on the main card of last night’s (May 14, 2016) UFC 198 from her home of Curitiba, Brazil.

Justino has long been considered to be one of the most feared female fighters on the planet, and she showed why last night when she demolished Leslie Smith in just over a minute in their 140-pound catch weight bout.

“Cyborg” has always been linked to a potential super fight with previously dominant bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, but the weight discrepancy along with the fact that Justino wasn’t signed with the UFC had always prevented that.

Now with one of the two barriers out of the way, and the weight appearing to be less of an issue, the fight may become more of a reality, although “Cyborg” opted not to call the “Rowdy” one out last night:

“I believe it was my moment. Tonight was my moment, it was historic.” Cyborg told FOX Sports. “I never thought I’d be sitting here tonight. I never thought I’d be here after everything I went through and it’s a historic moment for me. Talking about her is something that people are going to talk about, but I let my fans decide on who my opponent will be and I just have to be ready.”

Touching on the weight, Justino admitted that she felt strong last night, but also revealed that she’d like to continue to defend her Invicta strap:

“I’ve been training for two years to be able to make weight yesterday. And I felt very well tonight and I believe I can do other superfights, but I’m going to continue my weight class,” she said. “I’ve been the champion for some time and I want female MMA to grow, and I don’t think it’s the right thing for me to abandon my weight class.”

Less than 24 hours after her first UFC victory, it appears as if “Cyborg” has enjoyed her moment enough, taking to her official Twitter account to call out Rousey for a potential fight at UFC 205 this November in New York:

Rousey has been out of action since shockingly being knocked out by Holly Holm last November, and it’s expected that she’ll return at Madison Square Garden, although likely in a title fight.

Could you see the UFC booking Rousey vs. “Cyborg”?
