A pivotal heavyweight match-up has been added to July 8’s growing UFC 213 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Top-ranked Fabricio Werdum will meet No. 3 Alistair Overeem for a potential shot at the winner of the Stipe Miocic vs. Junior dos Santos heavyweight title rematch in the main event of May 13’s UFC 211 from Dallas, Texas.

Contracts have already been signed according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who revealed the signing on “SportsCenter”:

Werdum vs. Overeem will join the recently confirmed Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone bout at welterweight, in addition to the previously announced bantamweight title match between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw in the co-main event.

The fight will be the third bout between the two accomplished heavyweight veterans, Werdum submitted Overeem with a kimura at May 2006’s Pride Total Elimination Absolute, while Overeem won an uninspired decision in Strikeforce in June 2011 for the heavyweight belt. Both fighters won their last fight as well following defeats to the champion, with Werdum outclassing Travis Browne for a second time at UFC 203 and Overeem recently picking up an impressive knockout over Mark Hunt at UFC 209 in March.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk Wants ‘To See The Fear’ In Opponents

Reigning UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczk is set to defend her 115-pound title for the fifth consecutive time when she takes on No. 3-ranked Jessica Andrade in the co-main event of May 13’s UFC 211 from Dallas, Texas.

“Joanna Champion” has made a name for herself by being vicious and relentless not only inside in the cage, but outside of it as well. In fact, she recently said that she wants ‘to see the fear’ in her opponents:

“Staredowns are very important. Even the media days are very important because that time we have the first chance to face our opponents during the fight week. This is what Conor [McGregor] said, we can see inside the people,” Jedrzejczyk explained when speaking to FOX Sports.

“I like to look deep into my opponent’s eyes, I want to look into the soul, I want to see the fear.”

When it comes to stare downs and pre-fight hype, some fans have been critical if they feel as if the build-up is ‘fake’ or manufactured. Jedrzejczyk, however, said that ‘it’s all real’:

“The thing is we are not acting before the fights. It’s all real,” Jedrzejczyk said. “We train so hard before every fight. Every fight is different. Every opponent is different. I give 100-percent every day. When I sleep, when I eat, when I’m relaxing and when I’m training because this is what makes me a better fighter, a better champion.”

“The thing is there is no option that you’re going to step back or you’re going to show the fear. There is no chance and no time for it. You must show to your opponents that you are the toughest chick or guy on the planet. You must show there is no more playing. We throw hard cards and we’re going to play a hard game tomorrow after the weigh-ins at the day of the fight.”

Do you see “Joanna Champion” continuing her win streak against Andrade?

Former teammates Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw will face off in the co-main event of UFC 213 on July 8, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada with Garbrandt’s 135-pound title hanging in the balance. The two bantamweight stalwarts have gone back-and-forth in the media over the last few months and they are currently coaching opposite each other on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF):Redemption.

“No Love” has consistently taken shots at Dillashaw and he has also claimed to have a video of him knocking the ex-champion out in the gym a few years back. Dillashaw obviously doesn’t believe this video exists, but Garbrandt recently made him an offer to release it:

“Hey Dillashaw, let’s put an end to all of this. I’m going to go out and get as much money as I can from the video of me knocking you out. How about you pick a charity that you want to support and I’ll donate 100-percent of the proceeds to that charity,” Garbrandt said in an Instagram post on Wednesday night.

It’s still unclear whether or not the video exists, but Garbrandt said that he has knocked out Dillashaw ‘multiple times’ and he plans to do it again on July 8th:

“I have it on my phone actually. That’s the gym. I’ve knocked T.J. out multiple times. It doesn’t matter. July 8, it’s going to happen again,” Garbrandt said on TUF Talk on FS1. “So that’s the thing, I can release it, if TMZ wants to give $50,000, I don’t need the money. If T.J. were in my shoes, he would do that. He sold out for $60,000 to go to MusclePharm and leave everybody who shouldered him and made him into the world champion that he was.

“I just wanted him on the show admit that it happened and I don’t have to release any of it, that’s not what I’m about or my team is about.”

Who do you expect to come out on top when these two bantamweight rivals meet in July?
