Sanchez is something of an ageless wonder in the UFC. He was the original The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winner and has the fifth-most Octagon time in company history. The “Nightmare” was exactly that for Gall, who was thoroughly outclassed in every facet during their fight. So much so, in fact, that Sanchez now claims that Gall resorted to some dastardly tactics. (courtesy of Instagram):
”Mickey Gall is still a little bitch he bit me and eye gouged me!” Sanchez wrote. “I’m from the streets of ‘burque your lucky that ref pulled me off! OG’s don’t tell the ref they suck it up and street fight! But I had to let Instagram know.”
While Gall hasn’t responded to Sanchez’ allegations, he did issue a post-fight statement just one hour prior to Sanchez’ initial post.
”I gassed hard in there,” Gall wrote. “Had an adrenaline dump. I passed out during the weight cut and my body shut down in the first round. I’m sorry to my friends family and fans. Send love to Diego Sanchez, he’s a true legend. This was a nightmare come true for me. I promise I’ll be back soon and better.”

Tonight at UFC 268, Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington will square off again in a rematch of their UFC 245 classic. New UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman wasted no time coming face to face with his next opponent after a brawl nearly broke with Colby Covington on Sunday in Las Vegas.
The entire incident was captured on video as Usman and his entourage appear to show up at the buffet inside the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where Covington was already waiting in line.
It’s unclear what set off the altercation but it looks like somebody from Usman’s camp goes after Covington as employees try to defuse the situation with women and children standing in the same line.
There is audible screaming heard from some of the patrons when one of Usman’s friends charges at Covington as he backs away and shouts at the welterweight champion and his team.
Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz then gets into a shouting match with Covington and then takes a swing at the former interim champion.
As for Usman, he definitely had words with Covington but he actually appeared to attempt to defuse the situation while standing near his next opponent but never actually making any physical contact with him.
According to the report from TMZ, police were not called to deal with the incident but security intervened and escorted everybody out of the building.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) executive director Bob Bennett, Robbie Lawler clearly went unconscious while being choked by Ben Askren on the main card of last night’s (Sat., March 2, 2019) UFC 235 from Las Vegas.
The “Funky” one finally made his UFC debut albeit a controversial one. Askren defeated Lawler in the first round of their featured welterweight bout last evening via the rare bulldog choke, sometimes referred to as the “big brother choke”.
Lawler didn’t tap, however. Veteran referee Herb Dean jumped the gun and stopped the fight prematurely. Lawler immediately jumped up to protest the early stoppage but the fight had already been stopped and Askren had already begun to taunt UFC President Dana White.
While the ending of the fight was unfortunate, the fight was sure fun while it lasted. The NSAC head, Bob Bennett stopped by the post-fight press conference to talk about Dean’s blunder or lack thereof (h/t MMA Mania):
Bennett’s Take
”In this particular question with the bulldog choke on Robbie, you could see it right in front of us that when Herb picked up his hand, his hand just dropped,” Bennett said. “It just dropped, which would be indicative of him being out. And then [Dean] went ahead and grabbed his hand again and it came up a little and it moved ever so slightly. There was no doubt in our mind that he was out.”
”You can argue if you’ve ever been choked out or knocked out; there’s times where you know you’ve been choked or knocked out, and there’s times where you say ‘What the hell happened?’ I was never a professional fighter, but I’ve had it happen to me. Cuz someone asked me that tonight and I thought it was kinda freakin’ inappropriate. So I’ll bring that to the table right now.”
”With the Nevada State Athletic Commission, our number one priority is the health and safety of the fighter,” Bennett continued. “In our pre-brief fights, I specifically instruct the referees to make sure we stop the fight one punch or one kick sooner than later. In the interest of the health and safety of the fighter, Robbie’s a phenomenal warrior, he’s been in the business for a long time. He was clearly out.”
Bennett On Jones Illegal Knee
Before Bennett could skate out of the presser, he was asked about the Jon Jones illegal knee that, coincidentally Dean was the referee for, and subsequently took two points from Jones.
”Herb thought that was an intentional foul,” Bennett said. “He believed that Jones had several techniques that were borderline, they weren’t any fouls but he was throwing some kicks and knees that were very close. And when that knee hit him in the head, Herb Dean thought it was intentional and called it intentional. Mr. Smith was able to continue and thus Herb took a mandatory 2 point deduction or could have DQ’d him.”
