UFC on FOX 23 hits Denver, Colorado this weekend for an evening of great fights. Heading in to this Saturday’s event, stories in the women’s bantamweight, welterweight and heavyweight division’s are stealing headlines. In the main event we see Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena poised for action. With a title shot against Amanda Nunes looming, expect to see the best of these budding prospects in Denver. Filling the co-main slot are Donald Cerrone and Jorge Masvidal, and we can certainly expect a striking-heavy bonanza in this pairing.

‘Cowboy’ wants to make it five straight at welterweight, but Masvidal has plans to play spoiler, this is one to watch. Over to the 265-pound division, and rising prospect Francis Ngannou will battle former champion Andrei Arlovski. ‘Predator’ has been smashing his way through the competition, all the while building a growing fan base. Arlovski, although 37 and without a win in three, is a very experienced and dangerous foe. You can tune in to see the early weigh-in results throughout the morning, or check in at 7 PM ET for the traditional scales show.

UFC Fight Night 102 goes down in Albany, New York this Friday, headlined by an intriguing heavyweight bout. In a strange twist, UFC officials announced last week that the main weigh-ins show had been scrapped. Usually the early weigh-ins segment are the 9-11 AM slot, and the ceremonial show with the staredowns happens in the evening. Not the case this week though.
Instead a taped segment of the early scales show will be published later on today. Derrick Lewis meets Shamil Abdurakhimov in the main attraction. ‘Black Beast’ seemingly takes a step down in competition here, but will do so in the hopes of earning a fifth straight win.

Another heavyweight battle between Franci Ngannou and Anthony Hamilton promises fireworks, and fan favorites Cory Anderson and Sean O’Connell hope to deliver.

The UFC returns to Melbourne, Australia, for the first time since November 2015 with Robert Whittaker vs. Derek Brunson this weekend. Featuring two rising stars in the middleweight division, UFC Fight Night 101 showcases a host of promising talent from down under. The Rod Laven Arena hosts Saturday’s (November 26) instalment of the UFC, with six main card and seven prelim bouts. As well as Whittaker vs. Brunson, Andrew Holbrook vs. Jake Matthews features at lightweight.

Kyle Noke returns at welterweight for a battle with Omari Akhmedov, and Chris Cammozi takes on Daniel Kelly in the feature prelim. Lacking in the star power of a pay-per-view line-up, UFC Melbourne has all the tools needed to be great card regardless.

Also taking place at the SSE Arena is a co-main lightweight war between Ross Pearson and Stevie Ray.

Heavyweights Timothy Johnson and Alexander Volkov will collide, and Conor McGregor’s SBG team mate Artem Lobov battles Teruto Ishihara at featherweight.

Filling the top spot on the card is a pivotal lightweight battle between the former champion and a potential future king. Returning for his first fight since being blasted by Eddie Alvarez, Rafael dos Anjos meets streaking Tony Ferguson in the main event. The crowds in Mexico City will see ‘El Cucuy’ try and win his ninth straight fight against the dangerous Brazilian grappler/striker.

Martin Bravo and Claudio Puelles will clash for the title of this season’s lightweight winner, with a contract in the UFC up for grabs. Another tilt at 155 features fan favorite Diego Sanchez, as ‘The Nightmare’ welcomes Bellator crossover Marcin Held to the octagon. Ricardo Lamas takes on Charles Oliveira in a likely lively affair in the featherweight division, and Erick Perez meets Felipe Arantes in the feature prelim bout. Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson are set to pop off in the main event. ‘Diamond’ is looking to extend his four-fight win streak en route to a title fight, whereas ‘The Menace’ is a desperate man following two straight losses. This bout has a lot at stake for both men.

Could Dustin Poirier be headed towards a title fight with a win in Hidalgo? Quite possibly so, but the rumours of his old rival Conor McGregor facing Eddie Alvarez could either hinder his hopes, or potentially set him up for the rematch. Either that or he’ll have to wait behind the likes of Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov. With killers like that ahead of Poirier in the queue, he’ll need a huge win in Texas.
