Rose Namajunas was on the rampage for revenge (and possibly a women’s 115-pound title shot) when she met Tecia Torres in the co-main event of tonight’s (Sat., April 16, 2016) UFC on FOX 19 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

‘The Tiny Tornado’ had already handed Namajunas a decision loss in Invicta FC when ‘Thug’ was a much younger woman, and this time the Grudge Training Center contender was ready to come out on top.

In what turned out to be an impressively hard-fought bout, Namajunas outlasted Torres with an effective mix of striking and takedowns despite getting rocked by a big two-punch combo in the first round. It arguably could have gone either way, but Namajunas took home the close unanimous decision with a late takedown.

Rapidly ascending the women’s strawweight divisional ladder with three straight big wins, there’s not much to suggest ‘Thug’ Rose won’t be in the next women’s strawweight title affair after champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha finally settle their long-held feud at the culmination of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 23 in July.

A huge head kick sent Dias crashing down and Swanson swarmed his opponent. “Barnabe” held onto the arm of Swanson, looking for a kimura. The judges all agreed that Swanson was the winner.

Michael Chiesa vs. Beneil Dariush closes the preliminary card on FOX in a lightweight bout.

John Dodson vs. Manny Gamburyan in a bantamweight bout finishes off the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card.

Cezar Ferreira vs. Caio Magalhaes is next in a middleweight bout.

Opening the UFC Fight Pass prelims was Omari Akhmedov vs. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in a welterweight bout at UFC on FOX 19. An entertaining round one. Akhmedov got an early round takedown but was overtaken by Santos as he went for a heel hook. Akhmedov countered with a kimura submission attempt but was not successful.  In the second round, both men had their moments on the ground as they both took each other down. Santos turned things up in the third round and was winning the fight on the feet. Santos rocked him, and Akhmedov went for a takedown, but it was stuffed. Santos blitzed him with elbows, knees and strikes while in the clinch. Akhmedov was back peddling as Santos just went off on him, and the fight was stopped.
