Rising UFC star and recent Dancing With The Stars contestant Paige VanZant was interviewed by Maxim.com ahead of her main event fight on FOX against former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson this past Saturday night and seemed to indicate potential interest in doing some kind of business with WWE at some point in the future.

“The WWE is an amazing organization,” VanZant told Maxim prior to the UFC On FOX 22 show, which saw the Team Alpha Male member lose via submission to Waterson in the headline bout at the show at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. “I’m a UFC fighter right now, but my future has no limits. Can’t wait to see what I accomplish next.”

VanZant also revealed that she is a huge wrestling fan and that The Rock is her favorite wrestler.

During the discussion, VanZant also spoke about being a “huge wrestling fan,” pointing to current Hollywood A-lister Dwayne Johnson, who famously worked as a headliner during WWE’s “Attitude Era” boom period as The Rock, as her favorite pro wrestler.

“I am a huge wrestling fan,” VanZant said. “I would say The Rock is my favorite person to watch for obvious reasons.”

Although she didn’t mention any specific names, Michelle Waterson said that she was interested in a big fight after her first round submission win over Paige VanZant in the main event of this past weekend’s (Dec. 17, 2016) UFC on FOX 22 from Sacramento, California.

She may not have to mention any particular names, however, as a certain fighter has expressed interest in a possible bout with her.

No. 4-ranked former title challenger “Thug” Rose Namajunas recently took to her official Instagram account to say that not only are the fans interested in seeing her battle “The Karate Hottie”, but that she is intrigued by the fight as well:

Namajunas is coming off of a loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who most recently challenged for the 115-pound strap, last July, but prior to that she had scored three consecutive victories over the likes of Angela Hill, VanZant and Tecia Torres.

Waterson, on the other hand, is now 2-0 inside of the Octagon with two submission victories.

Rising UFC star “Super” Sage Northcutt suffered his second Octagon loss in the co-main event of this past weekend’s (Dec. 17, 2016) UFC on FOX 22 from Sacramento, California, getting submitted by fellow rising star Mickey Gall. Not only have both of Northcutt’s UFC losses come by way of submission, but they have both come at 170-pounds as well.

With that being said, “Super” Sage announced via his official Twitter account that he would be dropping back down to his ‘real’ weight at lightweight:

Northcutt is currently 3-2 in the UFC and all three of those victories have come at 155-pounds. He opened up his Octagon career with back-to-back stoppages over Francisco Trevino and Cody Pfister. He then scored a unanimous decision victory over Enrique Marin at July 9’s UFC 200 prior to being stopped by Gall.

Who would you like to see “Super” Sage attempt to bounce back against next?

Eddie Wineland’s Reason For Not Fighting On UFC Fight Pass Involves Best Buy, Wires

Eddie Wineland isn’t one to complain about his placement on a card.

But if the veteran has his say, he will not be competing on UFC Fight Pass again anytime soon.

Wineland completed the digital stream portion of UFC on FOX 22 this past weekend with a first round victory over Takeya Mizugaki. He explained to MMAjunkie why he wasn’t a fan of being on the product.

“I didn’t have a Fight Pass (account) set up. I had to deal with getting a Fight Pass set up and getting a cable so they could hook the computer to the TV and yada, yada, yada,” he said. “But, needless to say, my family got to watch, so all is well.

Wineland, who is 23-11-1 overall and 5-5 inside the Octagon, was ready to retire after suffering a second broken jaw. But he decided that his kids being able to see him compete was enough to get back in training.

“The reason I keep fighting is because of my boys. I’ve had my jaw broken twice. I was ready to hang them up,” he said. “And we had my first son, Jack, and I just got the itch again. You’ve got to prove to your boy that you can get up, keep moving forward, that you don’t quit because you get knocked down. It’s re-lit a fire.”
