Taking main event status at the UFC Apex facility, a middleweight showdown between the #5 ranked contender, Derek Brunson, and the #7 rated challenger, Darren Till.

Attempting to stretch his winning run to five straight fights, division mainstay, Brunson headlined UFC Vegas 22 in March against Kevin Holland, landing an impressive unanimous decision over the course of five rounds.

The North Carolina native added Holland to a run which includes victories over Edmen Shahbazyan, Ian Heinisch, and Elias Theodorou.

Liverpool fan favorite, Till enter’s this evening’s main event tie with Brunson, hoping to return to the winner’s enclosure following a UFC Fight Island 3 unanimous decision loss to former middleweight champion and common-foe, Robert Whittaker in July of last year.

In his middleweight bow back at UFC 244 in November 2019, Team Kaobon mainstay, Till managed a close split decision win over former interim title challenger, Kelvin Gastelum in a co-headlining bout.

Taking main event from the UFC Apex facility, a featherweight showdown between kickboxing standouts, the #9 ranked, Edson Barboza and promotional-perfect contender, the #10 rated, Giga Chikadze.

In the midst of a two-fight winning run from three outings at the featherweight limit, Nova Friburgo striking veteran, Barboza returns for the second time this year following a UFC 262 battle against Shane Burgos back in May — in which the Brazilian landed a peculiar third round knockout victory after an incredible back-and-forth Fight of the Night bout.

The victory marked former lightweight top-10 mainstay, Barboza’s second straight success following a prior ‘Fight Island’ unanimous decision win against Makwan Amirkhani last October.

For Georgian kickboxing ace, Chikadze — the Kings MMA staple has scored an eye-catching six consecutive victories in the UFC since his bow under the banner back in September 2019.

The former GLORY Kickboxing standout last featured in a co-headining slot against division veteran, Cub Swanson back in May at UFC Vegas 25 — stopping the Californian with a vicious first round liver kick.

Taking main event status tonight at the UFC Apex facility, a middleweight matchup between knockout artist, Jared Cannonier and former interim middleweight title challenger, Kelvin Gastelum.

Returning for the first time since a UFC 254 co-headliner unanimous decision loss to former undisputed champion, Robert Whittaker, Cannonier underwent two separate surgical procedures to repair a broken forearm suffered in his defeat to the former gold holder.

Prior to his loss against Whittaker, Cannonier had enjoyed an eye-catching three-fight knockout run in his first three outings in the division — stopping the trio of David Branch, Anderson Silva, and Jack Hermansson.

Gastelum, the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 17 and a former interim middleweight title challenger also suffered a unanimous decision loss to common-foe, Cannonier in his most recent Octagon walk.

Set for his third Octagon appearance of the year, the Kings MMA staple snapped a three-fight losing streak at UFC 258 back in February where he scored a unanimous judging win against Ian Heinisch.

Up next at UFC 265, we have a strawweight rematch between Tecia Torres and Angela Hill.

Round 1: Tecia Torres is landing early and often. The #10 ranked strawweight fighter is frequently bursting forward with eye-catching combos. Angela Hill catches a kick and takes this fight to the mat. Torres has to work really hard to get back to her feet but Hill maintains the clinch position against the fence. Eventually, they break and Torres is back to doing good work with her hands. There’s just too much offence from Torres right now, Hill is struggling to get out of the way. Torres picks her opponent up and dumps her to the floor. We are quickly back to the feet. Torres continues to press forward. Hill is able to land the odd counter but nothing stops the forward momentum of ‘The Tiny Tornado’. The two fighters exchange body kicks before round one comes to a close.

Round 2: Torres hits a body kick followed by a head kick at the start of round two. Hill is plodding forward and seems to be trying to pin Torres against the fence. Hill eats a low kick but returns with an overhand right. Torres catches her opponent coming in with a beautiful check hook. Hill catches a kick and uses it to take the back of her opponent. Torres runs to the fence to prevent this takedown. Hill lands a knee in the clinch. Torres hits an elbow as they break. Hill clinches up but Torres just punches her way out of it. ‘Overkill’ tries a flying knee but eats a shot as she’s in midair. Both women are throwing wild but Torres consistently gets the better of the exchanges. Torres spins for a kick and slips to her back. Hill ends the round on top but has next to no time to score any damage.

Round 3: Both fighters come out with a kick heavy approach in the third round. Torres lands a overhand. Hill tries to clinch up against the fence but Torres defends well and gets back to punching range. Torres dips for a takedown but is easily shrugged off. She lands a nice shot as they break. It’s getting a bit wild in the middle of this final round. Hill appears to be building some momentum. Torres attempts to stop that with a blitz. Hill continues to press forward, this is undoubtedly her best round of the fight. Torres just never allows her opponent to build-up ahead of steam. Lots of output even after almost three full rounds of a high-paced fight. Torres secures a late takedown and lands a few short shots before Hill stands back up. Torres drags Hill back to the mat as the horn sounds to end the

Opening up the UFC 265 main card we have an exciting bantamweight match-up between Song Yadong and Casey Kenney.

Round 1: Song Yadong lands a body kick early. Casey Kenney is pushing forward a lot but is unable to land anything meaningful through the first minute of this fight. Kenney taunts his opponent but eats a heavy leg kick. Yadong jumps in with a hook but is countered well. Yadong is doing good work with his lead left hand in this opening round. The Chinese fighter throws a kick but slips and ends up on his back. Kenney jumps onto his opponent and tries to lock up the head. Yadong does well to escape and pop back to his feet. Both men continue to exchange techniques right up until the horn sounds to end round one.

Round 2: Kenney lands a calf kick at the start of round two. Yadong targets the body early in the second stanza. Kenney is pushing forward a lot in this round, he is always throwing something to keep his opponent guessing. Yadong is doing well on his back foot but this is not something we’ve seen often, if at all, during his relatively short UFC career. Both men are really throwing to finish but more often than not they are unable to land cleanly. Kenney tries to take it to the mat but Yadong easily shakes it off. They exchanges kicks. Kenney cracks his opponent with a straight left. And another! Kenney is starting to get some momentum and Yadong realizes that when he shoots in for a takedown. Kenney is able to shake it off and not a lot happens before round two comes to a close.

Round 3: Kenney continues to push forward but Yadong makes him pay with a counter left. Kenney lands a punch of his own and follows it up with a kick. Straight right hand for Yadong. Yadong is finding success on the feet now. Kenney lands a knee but it doesn’t seem to bother his opponent. Two minutes are left on the clock and Kenney dives at Yadong’s feet and is easily shrugged off. Yadong jabs, Kenney counters, Yadong kicks. This is such a well-matched fight. Yadong presses forward with a flurry of punches. 30 seconds left and they are letting it all hang out. In the final 10 seconds, Kenney secures a takedown and ends the fight on top, dropping elbows.

Taking main event status, an interim heavyweight title bout between the most prolific heavyweight knockout artist in the organization’s history, Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis and the undefeated French striking standout, Ciryl ‘Bon Gamin’ Gane.

Last featuring in February, one-time undisputed title challenger, Lewis took home a massive second round uppercut knockout victory over Curtis Blaydes to lodge his fifth consecutive victory.

For the 9-0 Gane, the 31-year-old managed a rather comfortable unanimous decision win over Alexander Volkov in the main event of UFC Vegas 30 in June.

In the night’s co-headliner, former undisputed featherweight champion, Jose Aldo returns opposite compatriot, Pedro Munhoz in a bantamweight clash.

Returning to winning ways at UFC Vegas 17 in December, Aldo bested Team Oyama mainstay, Marlon Vera with a co-main event unanimous judging triumph.

Himself snapping a two-fight slide in his last outing, American Top Team staple, Munhoz took home a rematch win over Jimmie Rivera in February — beneath a main event of Jairzinho Rozenstruik and the aforenoted, Gane.
