UFC 311 weigh in results

On Saturday, January 18, the UFC heads to the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California for its first pay-per-view lineup of 2024.

In the main event of the evening, reigning lightweight world champion Islam Makhachev will put his gold on the line for the fourth time when he meets the division’s top-ranked contender, Arman Tsarukyan. It’ll be a rematch more than five years in the making after the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ spoiled Tsarukyan’s UFC debut all the way back in April 2019.

And in the co-main event, newly minted bantamweight king Merab Dvalishvili defends his title against undefeated sensation Umar Nurmagomedov for the first time.

Rounding out the main card is a light heavyweight showdown with major title implications as both Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka look to bounce back from their brutal losses against the division’s top dog, Alex Pereira. Perennial contender Beneil Dariush returns to the Octagon determined to snap rising star Renato Moicano’s four-fight win streak, and Kevin Holland tries to spoil the sophomore appearance of former two-division ONE world champion Reinier de Ridder.

But before they can step inside the Octagon, all 28 fighters must step on the scale to weigh in for their respective bouts. Did everyone hit their mark? Find out below:

  • Islam Makhachev(c) (154.5lbs) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (N/A) – UFC lightweight championship

Khabib and McGregor came nose-to-nose for the last time at tonight’s ceremonial weigh-ins. As expected, the scene was an over-the-top one.

We wouldn’t expect anything less from what’s rightly being called the biggest UFC fight of all-time. UFC President Dana White wouldn’t let the two get too close, but McGregor did anyway. He slapped Khabib’s hands and threw a kick at the champion when they were separated.

Watch Khabib and McGregor’s final faceoff here:

In his short interview with Mike Goldberg, after trying to swipe away Dennis Siver‘s fist:

That’s 1-4-5 … that’s championship weight. Tell Jose I’m coming.”

Other highlights include Benson Henderson and Donald Cerrone being really great friends, Ron Stallings trying to get into Uriah Hall‘s head, and Sean O’Connell tapping Matt Van Buren’s nose in a flirty kind of way. Apart from that, composure was more or less maintained, and things didn’t get all that testy (no pun intended).

Catch the ‘UFC on FOX 9: Johnson vs. Benavidez II’ Weigh-Ins Right Here Starting at 7 p.m. EST

In just a few minutes, the weigh-ins for UFC on FOX 9 kick off from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. Funny, I didn’t know they named an arena after Francis Carmont, and in America no less (*lights fireworks and releases flock of doves*). If our past few posts about this event are any indication, three fighters will fail to make weight tonight, two fighters will injure themselves backstage, and the entire attending audience will be consumed in a wave of Godzilla’s all-cleansing fire. Seriously, have you guys seen the trailer for the Godzilla remake yet? It looks insane.

Anyway, Team Alpha Male will look to continue their run of dominance under Duane Ludwig (“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Bang Era!”), but they’ll be facing some stiff opposition in the forms of Edson Barboza, Nik Lentz, and Michael McDonald. So swing by CagePotato starting at 7 p.m. EST to catch the weigh-ins and swing by tomorrow at 8 p.m. for our liveblog of the event.
