He may have not earned a title shot just yet, but Mauricio “Shogun” Rua did pick-up the 18th knockout win of his career with his finish of Brandon Vera in the main event of UFC on Fox 4 last night.

Shortly after the Shogun-Vera bout, UFC President Dana White announced that Lyoto Machida was the most impressive and will face the winner of Jon Jones and Dan Henderson for the Light Heavyweight Championship.

Yesterday, former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz announced that he was no longer retired, which surprised very few. Then, Diaz did surprise many as he called out the current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Diaz might be best-known for always coming to fight and even though it seems controversy always surrounds the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu fighter, there is no questioning that he is one of the most exciting fighters in MMA today.

As for Anderson Silva, what hasn’t he done? Coming off his second-round knockout of rival Chael Sonnen, it seems Silva isn’t interested in facing any of the current middleweight contenders. 

So, with that, it sets up this so-called “super fight” perfectly. While there are a few obstacles Diaz and the UFC will have to overcome to create the fight, why not go ahead and look at the MMA head-to-toe breakdown between Diaz and Silva?

Sonnen has said that he is considering a jump to 205 and fighting in the light heavyweight division.

Now, while nothing is certain and Sonnen has said nothing more than he is considering it, I went ahead and found ten opponents who would make sense if Sonnen decided to come to the light heavyweight division.
