Following Antonio Silva’s recent taunt aimed at Chael Sonnen on Twitter, Sonnen has taken the time to reply to Silva with a taunt of his own.

Earlier this week, Sonnen tweeted that he would be hosting an MMA seminar in the near future:

I will be doing a seminar at Team Quest in Redding, Ca. on Sept 11th at 9:30am. All are welcome. Join in, or just watch.

Silva, who has been a victim of Sonnen’s words in the past, replied:

@sonnench you will show how to get out of a triangle?

In this tweet, Silva was referring to Sonnen’s less-than-stellar submission defense; Sonnen has lost eight fights by submission and four of those have come by a triangle choke. Most recently, he tapped out to a triangle choke against Anderson Silva at UFC 117, late in the fifth round.

Following this loss, Sonnen was the instigator of a war of words against Anderson Silva and his training camp, Black House MMA/Team Nogueira, a camp which Antonio Silva had recently become a member of. 

Soon after, Sonnen was ready with a comeback:

@bigfootsilva, I want to tell you a joke so funny it will make your head grow. It goes like this..Oh wait, I see you have already heard it.

Antonio Silva has been one of many fighters that have been targeted by Chael Sonnen’s anti-Brazilian taunts and jibes, and now Silva has found an opportunity to take a jab at Sonnen via Twitter.

Yesterday, Sonnen notified his followers and fans that he will be holding an MMA seminar in the near future: “I will be doing a seminar at Team Quest in Redding, Ca. on Sept 11th at 9:30am. All are welcome. Join in, or just watch.”

Silva, quick to reply, retorted with this: “@sonnench you will show how to get out of a triangle?”

He also went as far as to take jabs at the nation of Brazil, which drew the ire of many Brazilian fighters and fans.

I have not ranked the fighters in any way because such a list is purely subjective. Even If I was to rank the fighters, there would be some bias even if I did try my best to eliminate it.

Let me start off by saying that I have the utmost respect for every fighter to compete in combat sports such as boxing, MMA, kickboxing and many others.

These sports require an unfathomable amount of discipline and technique, and those that compete in such sports deserve respect for putting their health at risk, every time they compete.

MMA is a fairly young sport, and in the short time it has been around, we the fans have seen many different types of performances. We have seen fighters who have entertained, excited, bored and even disgusted the fans with their performances.

We have also seen fighters put out performances that are just pathetic.

The fighters that appear on this list are here for various reasons. Some are here for being dirty fighters or for getting humiliated for not even fighting in a dignified manner, and many more reasons.

Their performances are not what one would expect to see when watching an MMA fight and are deemed pathetic by the unforgiving, MMA community.

If a movie was made about a fighter in the UFC, who would be the actor to play that fighter?

This was a question that was posed to me, interested me, and I was intrigued to find out.

Before embarking on a quest to find the actors that could play the fighter in question, I had to set some guidelines and criteria.

One of my criteria was that the actor has to bear some physical resemblance to the fighter. I mean, it wouldn’t make sense if Danny DeVito was cast to play Jose Aldo would it?

Next, I decided that the fighter needed to have an interesting enough life story for it to be made into a movie.

However, the problem with this, is that some of the more intriguing stories of fighters did not have anyone that bore any resemblance to the fighter. If I just picked any actor to portray any fighter, there would be no need for this slideshow.

With these factors and more in mind, I set off to find the actors that would play the fighters if a movie was made about them.

Bear in mind, this is a light hearted piece.

So without further ado, here are the actors I have selected that could potentially portray fighters, if movies were made about them.

The UFC has seen many fighters come and go. Some have risen to the top, some are on their way to the top and unfortunately, some haven’t been as successful as their peers.

Out of all these fighters, only some will be remembered forever and will be a part of history. 

They may be remembered for different reasons; for example, they may have brought the sport to a new demographic or have been one of the greatest champions. Either way, they will be remembered.

At UFC 132, one of these iconic figures is fighting in his second middleweight bout and that is the legendary Wanderlei Silva.

In this list, I have tried to assemble the fighters that have been the most popular figures in the history of the sport. Whether people loved them or hated them, this list includes all the fighters that will always be remembered for encouraging people to tune in and watch them fight.

So, without further ado, I present to you the most iconic figures in the UFC.
