Earlier this week, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who was recently eliminated from the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix after suffering a defeat to Chael Sonnen, told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he’d like to take on Wanderlei Silva for a fourth time in his next fight.

Silva also appears to be interested, although he has one condition that needs to be met in order to make the fight happen:

”I will (talk to Bellator president Scott Coker), but I want to do this rematch with ‘Rampage’ at Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba,” Silva told Gazeto do Povo (Via MMAFighting.com) “I’ll put this as a condition, to be in my hometown. Then it would be worth the effort. Money alone isn’t worth it, it has to be something more, and that would be fighting in front of my friends in Curitiba.”

Silva, who’s also coming off of a defeat to Sonnen, has spent the majority of his career competing at middleweight and light heavyweight, while Jackson has competed at heavyweight as of late.

That wouldn’t be a problem for “The Axe Murderer”, however, as he said that “Rampage” is ‘fat’ and that he’d ‘beat him up like a roly-poly toy’:

”I’m kind of big, too, with 229 pounds,” he said. “I’m training a bit stronger. He’s fat. I want to beat him up like a roly-poly toy. I’d beat him up. I hate him so much.

”That knockout he gave me (at UFC 92), hit a lucky hand on my chin. And after I went down he went there and landed another one. I hate him. I only wait for the next one to return the favor. It will be a brawl, the way people want.”

Although Silva has won two of the three bouts with Jackson, scoring stoppage victories at Pride Final Conflict 2003 and Pride 28, it appears as if the Brazilian legend wants his revenge for the way the third fight ended.

Former UFC champions Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s careers have taken different paths since they threw down at UFC 114 in 2010 after one of the most heated rivalries in UFC history.

Evans has largely dealt with injury and ineffectiveness during a recent run at middleweight, losing his last four bouts in the octagon, and Rampage made his way to Bellator and has lost his last two bouts to Chael Sonnen and Muhammed Lawal.

The two recently clashed in a location outside of the cage, however, as Rampage posted a video to his Instagram account where he and “Suga” got up close for what looked like some trash talk rekindling their old beef.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Inks New Multi-Fight Deal With Bellator MMA

It looks like Bellator MMA will retain ex-UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on their roster.

The promotion announced earlier today (Thurs. November 9, 2017) that “Rampage” has signed a brand-new, exclusive multi-fight deal with Bellator, however, specific details were not released. Jackson reacted to the news by stating he is excited to put on an exciting year of fights for fans in 2018 (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I am excited for this new beginning and looking forward to an action-packed 2018,” Jackson said. “I can’t wait to get back in the cage and put on exciting fights for both the ‘Rampage’ and Bellator fans.”

Bellator MMA President Scott Coker made it of vital importance to re-sign Jackson to the company, as his action-packed bouts inside the cage play an integral part in his promotion’s growth:

“With ‘Rampage’ Jackson, you know what you’re going to get every time he steps inside the Bellator cage – an exciting fight and interest from fans all over the world,” Scott Coker said. “I knew that keeping ‘Rampage’ with Bellator was integral to our continued growth as a promotion and I’m pleased that we were able to come to an agreement that allows us to plan some great future matchups for him.”

RampageJackson is currently 4-1 with Bellator MMA, losing his first bout under the promotion’s banner in a heavyweight contest against Muhammed Lawal. During his time with Bellator, however, Jackson believed the promotion breached his contract and he returned to the UFC for a one-off appearance in which he defeated Fabio Maldonado.

Those issues came with a contract that was negotiated with former Bellator frontmen Bjorn Rebney, who is now out of the picture as Coker serves as the current boss of Bellator operations.

It’s no secret that former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson doesn’t want to cut down to 205 pounds anymore heading into his Bellator 175 showdown with longtime rival Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal, and apparently that’s lead to some confusion as to just what weight the rematch will be contested at.

During yesterday’s (Wed., March 22, 2017) Bellator 175 media conference call (quotes via MMA Fighting), after “King Mo” called “Rampage” “fat” and “soppy,” Jackson revealed he thought the fight was a catchweight of 235 pounds, to which Lawal responded by focusing on the fact that it is indeed at heavyweight:

“Guess what? You ain’t fighting me at heavyweight,” Jackson said. “You fighting me at a catchweight.”

“No. Heavyweight, player. Ain’t no catchweight here,” Lawal said. “It’s at heavyweight, dog. Two-sixty-five is the weight class. Heavyweight. I don’t do no catchweights.”

“Wait, wait, you’re telling me I can weigh 265?” Jackson said. “Is this what you’re telling me?”

“Yes. Yes, you can,” Lawal replied. “Ain’t no catchweight. I ain’t no ho. I don’t do no catchweight. Man, hell no.”

“I was told the fight was at catchweight,” Jackson said.

Jackson had plenty to say in response in classic fashion, poking fun at previous opponent Lawal’s girlfriend before citing a thyroid problem that has him unable to make 205.

It’s the reason why he’s going to show up to Bellator 175 weighing an astonishingly high number, something he doesn’t Lawal, whose style is obviously much more takedown-focused, will be able to deal with:

“You guys, we can tell weight don’t matter to ‘King Mo.’ Look at his girlfriend,” Jackson said at one point. “We can tell he don’t give a f*ck about weight. Listen, ‘King Mo’ wants to talk about my weight and he thinks that hurts my feelings and stuff like that. It ain’t no secret, I’m older now. I’m an older fighter and I have a thyroid problem that is hard for me. I’m on medication, but what I did was, I addressed the problem. I went and saw a specialist and I talked to my coaches, and we decided to go to heavyweight and lift weights, get stronger, get bigger.

“So, ‘King Mo’ can fat shame and the stuff all he wants. I didn’t ask to fight ‘King Mo.’ I wanted to fight at heavyweight because I’m a bigger guy now. I left ‘King Mo’ in the past. I figured, yeah, I wanted to knock him out, I wanted the rematch, but I feel like fighting ‘King Mo’ again ain’t going to be nothing but a wrestling match, and why do I want to do that when I’m a striker? I like putting on exciting fights. I like being exciting.

“That’s why my career went towards the way it’s went, because I come to fight,” Jackson continued. “So, I don’t care what ‘King Mo’ says about my weight or what anybody else says. I’m doing Bellator a favor by giving them the rematch with ‘King Mo,’ and he had a problem dealing with me at 205. He’s going to have a problem dealing with me at 260, in shape.”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson is currently in a fight, but it’s not inside the mixed martial arts (MMA) cage.

‘Rampage’ currently finds himself fighting a strange battle to keep his home. Jackson purchased the property on July 25th of 2010 for $1,150,000 in cash, but recently filed a lawsuit with the Orange County Superior Court last month (December 30, 2016) after complications with the home’s title.

Jackson did not put the title to the home under his own name or an entity he has control over, but instead under the business ‘Jazella’ per advice of his manager, Howard Denis Joseph Gwynn. Interestingly enough, however, Jazella is owned by none other than Gwynn himself.

Below is Jackson’s official legal complaint (courtesy of Bloody Elbow):

“Due to [Jackson’s] celebrity as a mixed martial-arts fighter, instead of taking title to the Subject Property in his name as an individual, with the advice and guidance of his business partner and manager, non-party Howard Denis Joseph Gwynn (director of Jazella), [Jackson] decided to purchase the Subject Property in such a way that Jazella would be known as the record titleholder.”

Jackson’s relationship with Gwynn began to take a turn south, prompting the Bellator heavyweight to make efforts to change the title under his name instead. His efforts may have been too late, however, as ‘Rampage’ says Gwynn “purported to sell the Subject Property to defendants Breckenridge and Wedgewood.”

Rampage believes Breckenridge and Wedgewood “…intend to unlawfully dispossess [Jackson] and his family and children from the Subject Property…”

‘Rampage’ is officially suing Jazella, Breckenridge, and Wedgewood for quiet title, unjust enrichment, and declaratory relief.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is set to make his return to the Bellator cage, when he takes on Olympic Judo gold medalist Satoshi Ishii at Bellator 157 tonight (June 24, 2016).

Earlier this past week, courtesy of MMA Fighting, ‘Rampage’ took some time to talk with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour to discuss his thoughts on Ishii and his unique sill set:

“Honestly, I didn’t really know much about him because I don’t really watch a lot of fights,” Jackson said. “I didn’t know anything about him, but then I heard he’s a southpaw and a judo guy, and I was like, ‘ah, hell.’

This is going to be a good test for me because, to be honest, I don’t do well against southpaws. And judo is kind of awkward for MMA, that’s why Ronda Rousey was smashing girls so bad, so quickly.

Because somebody that can do judo efficiently in MMA, can be very dangerous if you don’t know how to handle it.”

RampageJackson was then asked on which weight class he plans on competing in following his bout with Ishii, given the bout is a catchweight fight at 225 pounds, and revealed he no longer wishes to cut weight:

“I haven’t really thought about it, but I’m thinking about maybe fighting heavyweight or something like that,” Jackson said. “I’m not going to lie, I’m too old to be cutting weight. I’m over all the cutting weight sh*t.”

‘Rampage’ was then pondered with the idea of possibly stepping inside the cage with Russian MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko, an idea that seemed to excite the former 205-pound UFC champion:

“That would be an incredible fight,” Jackson said. “Fedor is back. He’s always been one of my favorites, and I really love his fighting style.

That would be a great fight to put me in as well, but you know, Fedor and I are friends, we don’t talk to each other cause we speak different languages.

But at the end of the day, like I said, my job is to fight. So if that fight comes up, I would happily take it.”

Newly signed Bellator heavyweight Matt Mitrione was also mentioned as a possible opponent for Jackson in the near future, as the two share a history dating back to 2009 during the pair’s encounters during The Ultimate Fighter 10 (TUF 10):

“I’m sure Matt Mitrione’s ugly ass wants to see that fight happen too,” Jackson said. “I’m not opposed to it, but I don’t want to fight two southpaws back to back.

Like I said, I f*cking hate to fight southpaws because it’s hard to find sparring partners and stuff, but hey, at the end of the day it’s my job to fight, and I’ll fight anybody.

MattMitrioneWeighInWhile Jackson would be open to a bout with Mitrione, he would much rather throw down with another TUF 10 cast-member who did rub him the wrong way…… Darrill Schoonover, or as ‘Rampage’ likes to refer to him as, ‘T*tties’.

“I don’t turn down fights, but i really want to fight T*tties. I have no beef with Mitrione, I had beef with T*tties.

I’ve really been trying to fight T*tties, but Bellator doesn’t want to see it for some reason. I don’t understand why not. T*tties needs to get these hands all up in his face. I told T*tties, if I win, I’m going to motorboat him. And I ain’t lying.”

Jackson was asked why after all these years he still wants to fight Schoonover, he had this to say:

“Because T*tties keeps talking sh*t, and he’s still on my Twitter talking sh*t,” Jackson said. “I’m a fighter, so if another fighter is talking sh*t to me and sh*t like that, I’m going to fight him.

I don’t have to fight him in Bellator, I can go to his house, you know what I’m saying. I get paid to fight, so I want to be civil, so I can get your fat ass [Schoonover] in the cage and let’s fight.

Now, talk about a thing from TUF 10, that’s who I had the beef with. It was T*tties not Mitrione, but I’ll fight Mitrione. But I’m going to tell you who I really want, I want to shut T*tties’ ass up.”
