With only a few short days remaining until this weekend’s (Sat., July 9, 2016) UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the UFC rolls on with third episode of its Embedded V-log series for the blockbuster event.

To kick things off, heavyweight fan favorite slugger Mark Hunt reveals his gameplan for the returning Brock Lesnar, which not surprisingly involves punching “The Beast” in the face. Even “The Super Samoan” admits it’s the simplest gameplan ever as he dives into a pre-fight feast on the grill.

Back in Las Vegas, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate goes to see her hypnotherapist to get her mind right for her upcoming title bout against top contender Amanda Nunes. Light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier finalizes his training at his home base of American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) before cheating on his weight cut just a little at home.

Meanwhile, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cormier’s arch rival Jon Jones takes an Uber (finally) to a swimming pool and his strength gym on July 4 as part of his last training sessions for his pivotal 205-pound title match-up with “DC.” Interim featherweight title contender Frankie Edgar does the same on the beach in New Jersey.

Finally, returning beast Brock Lesnar tries on his fight gloves to meet Mark Hunt, with the XXXXL not fitting the WWE superstar’s hands. Lesnar then does some interviews and signs fight posters for UFC 200 while discussing his desire to return to the Octagon. Ever the outspoken joker, Lesnar offers Tate an opportunity to spoon with him as space is tight in the signing room.

Miesha Tate Doesn’t Think Nunes Has What It Takes To Be Champion

Newly-crowned UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is set to make her first career title defense, against the No. 4-ranked Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 next Saturday (July 9, 2016).

Ahead of her upcoming clash with Nunes, Tate took the time to speak with FOX Sports and discuss her long journey to the top of women’s MMA:

“Everything that I have gotten has come through fighting,” Tate told FOX Sports. “From how I make a living to modeling, acting, FOX, whatever you want to name, I’ve gotten that through fighting for it. Literally.”

While Nunes has a history of gassing out in the later parts of her fights, Tate believes it isn’t a matter of cardio that Nunes lacks, but mental toughness:

“I think it might not even be a question of cardio because I’m sure she trains really, really hard. I think she breaks mentally in fights,” Tate said. “I think it affects her will to push her body to the limit and I know that’s not a problem I have.

I know that when push comes to shove, at any point in that fight, I’m going to be pushing that pace, I’m going to be going forward and I’m going to put it on her and I think that she’s going to break mentally.

She knows she breaks mentally. She knows she gets tired and I know that. And that’s a huge thing in this sport. They say the mental aspect is 90 percent of it. Well, I think that’s her biggest weakness.

I don’t think she has what it takes to be a champion and still be willing to dig deep in those championship rounds. I do and that’s really what separates us is the mental toughness,” Tate said.

While the championship rounds of a fight tend to be the most draining and grueling, Tate feels she thrives in those type of situations as the fight rolls on, something she can’t say about her adversary come UFC 200:

“It’s the fight-or-flight instinct they talk about. I definitely have the fight instinct. When I get hurt, I go harder. I don’t shy away from adversity. I feel like I thrive in it.

The fact that I was able to come back stronger from those devastating losses I’ve experienced in my career, is just a testament why I’m standing stronger than ever now. Why I’m the champion now.

Going through those learning experiences brought me here now. It’s like when you break a bone and they say it comes back stronger. It’s that thought, that’s how I feel. I really believe if it wasn’t for those losses, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today.

I know she has the things that she’s really good at, but I don’t think it’s anything I haven’t seen before.

I’ve fought all the best fighters in the world and I’ve been very successful for the most part and I don’t think Amanda brings anything to the table I haven’t seen before,” Tate said.

“As long as I don’t make a mistake and let my guard down, I don’t know where Amanda can beat me. As long as I don’t get over zealous or make a mistake to just leave something out there, I think I beat her in every area.”

Tate and Nunes will clash for the bantamweight title at UFC 200 live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9, 2016.

Miesha Tate Taking Time Off After UFC 200, Amanda Nunes Fight

But on the heels of three straight fight camps, “Cupcake” does want to take a break from the action.

During a conference call earlier this week, Tate stated plans to return to the Octagon in late 2016 following her bout vs. Nunes.

“I know I want to take a little time to enjoy myself,” Tate said. “I went straight from my camp with Holly, straight into Bryan (Caraway)’s camp against Aljamain Sterling and then straight into this camp, which has been awesome to keep that great momentum going.

“I’m really happy about that, but, you know, my birthday is in August, and I would like just to take a little bit of time. I think a November or December return would be reasonable.”

Tate was once again asked about the possibility of fighting arch-rival Ronda Rousey in the UFC’s debut in Madison Square Garden this November. And, like she has tried to do in several interviews over the past few weeks, the champion attempted to turn the attention to Nunes.

“Let me just stop you right there, because there is no way I’m looking past this fight with Amanda,” Tate said. “I just can’t afford to do it. I’ve been seeing that a lot of people are just losing titles quickly and focusing on things they don’t need to be. And I refuse to make that mistake. I didn’t get here by overlooking opponents.

“And Amanda is a very tough opponent. I think she’s beatable, but she is where she’s at because she’s hungry, she really wants this and she’s on a win streak.”

Miesha: Cyborg’s ‘A Very Big Girl,’ But I Have The Heart & Technique

Just over two weeks ahead of her first-ever UFC title defense against Amanda Nunes on the main card of July 9’s blockbuster UFC 200 event from Las Vegas, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate knows there are some absolutely huge fights awaiting her if she can get past “The Lioness.”

She can’t look past the fast-starting (and oftentimes, fading) challenger, but it’d be impossible to not eye say, a trilogy bout against former champ Ronda Rousey or a huge superfight of sorts versus Invicta FC featherweight champ Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino, who just made her UFC debut in May. Speaking during a media luncheon in Hollywood, California, today (via MMA Fighting), ‘Cupcake’ expressed her obvious excitement of fighting the dominant ‘Cyborg’:

“I think it would be really cool to fight Cyborg, honestly,” Tate said. “Like to really see what it’s like to be in there with someone with her power. … I’ll be the first to admit, physically I think I would be at a disadvantage, but I think that I can be the one to prove that I have the heart, the durability, the determination and the will power — and technique — to overcome that kind of challenge. And that intrigues me. That would be very rewarding to me.”

Tate had previously teased a move up to 140 pounds in order to fight ‘Cyborg,’ and Justino actually made that weight for his first UFC bout, a UFC 198 win over Leslie Smith. But ‘Cupcake’ finally received a much-deserved title shot against then-champion Holly Holm at March’s UFC 196, and capitalized by securing an emphatic come-from-behind submission to rip the belt from ‘The Preacher’s Daughter.’

That obviously complicated things, so Tate revealed that while her opinion on the matter hasn’t necessarily changed, she’s not sure if she can galavant between weight classes as featherweight champ Conor McGregor has seemingly been doing:

“It hasn’t changed, but the thing is, is I don’t know if I can not fight for the belt while I’m the champion,” Tate said. “I don’t know how that works. I’m not Conor McGregor. He has like his own set of rules. I’m not really sure. I wouldn’t be opposed to it. But I think it would be better if we did make it a title fight. At some point if that comes down and it’s allowed, like of course.”

Weight always seems to be the issue with any top female fighter facing ‘Cyborg,’ whose long-rumored feud with Rousey turned out to be only rumors when ‘Rowdy’ said she’d have to make bantamweight and Justino ultimately said it was too much. But she did hit 139 on the scales prior to her win over Smith in her native Curitiba, Brazil, so Tate believes that while ‘Cyborg’ is obviously a huge competitor, she can make the bantamweight limit of 135 pounds – even if it is tough – nonetheless:

“I think she can make 135 pounds, but yeah, she’s a very big girl,” Tate said. “She’s naturally big and I’m sure that it would be really a difficult cut for her. She’d have to lose muscle. She wouldn’t just be able to lose the water weight. She’d have to come down.”

A Tate-Cyborg tilt for the belt would be a massive spectacle, yet the UFC may want to book ‘Cupcake’ against Rousey, Holm, or even the winner of UFC 200’s Julianna Pena vs. Cat Zingano match-up first, and with ‘Cyborg’s’ UFC future uncertain as of now, the belt could be around another woman’s waist when the chance to book it even legitimately arose.

Then again, it could just be the biggest fight to make in women’s MMA for later this year if Rousey ends up not returning until next year. After nearly retiring with her position in the division up in the air only 18 months ago, the future is all of the sudden bright for Tate.

All she has to do is keep winning.
