Former undisputed middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya was left distraught and scatching his head following last night’s shocking knockout loss for close-friend and fellow former UFC heavyweight titleholder, Francis Ngannou – at the vicious hands of boxing supremo, Anthony Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight champion under the banner of the Dana White-led UFC, made his sophomore outing in the boxing ring overnight in the Middle East – following a tremendous performance en route to defeat against WBC best, Tyson Fury last August at the same venue.
Francis Ngannou flattened in shuddering loss
However, seeing the curtain draw – potentially definitely on his naive boxing career last night, Cameroonian berserker, Ngannou was both dropped and stopped for the first time in his professional combat sports tenure overnight, with Joshua flattening the former UFC kingpin with an hellacious finish in the second round.
Felled in the first with a piston-like right hand straight from Watford native, Joshua, Ngannou was then caught with a check left hook in the second, sending him briefly to the canvas once more.
Sharing his thoughts on Ngannou’s staggering knockout loss to Joshua in the Middle East, Adesanya was left awestruck in the immediate aftermath of the bout.
“Ah, man – f*cking cold, ah man, damn,” Israel Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. “He’s (Francis Ngannou) okay. That second one [knockdown] was bad, but that third one [knockdown]. You could see it in his face – ‘cause the first one he was fine, that was a flash [knockdown].
What’s next for Francis Ngannou after his KO loss to Anthony Joshua?

Following the shocking announcement of his boxing match showdown this summer, naive striker, Jake Paul has opened as a rather heavy betting favorite to beat former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson as the pair prepare for a blockbuster July showdown at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
And as for Tyson, the soon-to-be 58-year-old has been sidelined from professional boxing since he fought Kevin McBride in an eventual sixth round knockout loss back in 2005.
Briefly returning in an exhibition clash with fellow former world champion slickster, Roy Jones Jr. four years ago, Brooklyn fan-favorite, Tyson fought to a split draw with his compatriot in a bout scored by the WBC.
Jake Paul opens as favorite to beat Mike Tyson this summer
And officially slated to fight Tyson in a boxing match this summer in ‘The Lone Star State’, the above-mentioned Paul is available as high as a -360 betting favorite to beat the reveared knockout artist, Tyson – who is available as a +300 betting underdog to hand the outspoken social media star his second professional loss in their Netflix broadcast clash.
Fans and punters alike hoping to get in on the action early — on a line which is sure to fluctuate throughout the coming weeks ahead of their July clash, can bet online on this summer’s showdown between Jake Paul, and Mike Tyson — as part of a card which almost is sure to garner worldwide attention as part of it’s broadcasting deal with global streaming service, Netflix.
Making his tenth trip to the squared circle in his fight against the above-mentioned veteran, Bourland, Paul extended his winning run to three straight fights with his dominant opening frame knockout win.
Turning in a similarly one-sided victory over Andre August in a highlight-reel first round KO via one punch last December, Paul had previously taken former undisputed UFC lightweight title chaser, Nate Diaz, the full 10 round limit in Texas, landing a one-sided decision win as well as an eye-catching knockdown.
In his sole professional loss, Paul, who also holds wins over former mixed martial arts championship winners, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren – both via knockout, saw his unbeaten record halted by reality television star, Tommy Fury – the half brother of WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
One of the most iconic boxers in the sport’s long and storied history, Tyson – a devastating knockout artist and former WBA, WBC, and IBF world heavyweight champion, ended his storied professional career in the midst of a disappointing two fight skid.
Last seeing his hand raised off the back of a knockout win over Clifford Etienne back in 2003, Tyson was warned that his lights would be shut off by Ohio native Paul this summer in Arlington, who described their surprising showcase as the biggest fight of the 21st century to boot.
“Promotion promotion promotion, if I’m being honest it don’t need that.” Jake Paul posted on his official X account, accompanied by a poster of his bout with Mike Tyson. “The biggest fight of the 21st century, in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world…that’s the MVP way.”
“Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event,” Jake Paul continued. “I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.”
“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time,” Jake Paul wrote. “Time to put ‘Iron’ Mike to sleep.”
Who wins this summer in Texas: Jake Paul or Mike Tyson?

Mixed martial arts fighters have been warned against pursuing further crossover boxing fights in the future – in the immediate aftermath of former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou’s brutal one-punch KO loss to boxing star, Anthony Joshua inside two rounds in Saudi Arabia tonight.
Ngannou, a former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, headlined a ‘Knockout Chaos’ billed card tonight in the Middle East against former two-time world heavyweight champion and Olympic star, Joshua, in just his second professional boxing match.
And suffering his second consecutive loss following a controversial decision defeat to Tyson Fury last August, Ngannou was finished in devastating fashion by Joshua – who flattened the Cameroonian with a hellacious KO in the second round.
Dropped in the first frame after switching to southpaw, Ngannou was immediately met flush with a straight right shot, sending him to the canvas.
Reacting to Ngannou’s stunning knockout loss in Riyadh tonight, a host of boxing stars and fighters urged mixed martial arts competitors to avoid further ventures to the squared circle in the future – as well as heralding Joshua’s performance.
“Let this be A BIG WARNING to MMA fighters!!” Ryan Garcia posted on X. “Stop coming to boxing it will only get worst (sic). IT’s more vent if we just go to your sport! OVER! ONE PUNCH. Sending healing prayers to FRANCIS! Your bravery and guys should be commendable. CONGRATULATIONS Anthony Joshua.”
“Still the baddest muf*cka on the planet,” Kamaru Usman posted.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has handed former UFC heavyweight kingpin, Francis Ngannou one of the most shocking knockout losses to come this year with doubt — in the form of a spectacular one-punch KO in their main event clash at Knockout Chaos tonight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, scored a 10-8 round against the former UFC heavyweight champion in the first frame of their 10 round clash tonight in the Middle East, landing flush on a southpaw Ngannou with a well-timed and placed right hand straight.
And in the second frame, managing to flatten Ngannou to his backside with a right hand before the turn of the second round, Joshua appeared on his way to a one-sided win.
However, welcoming Ngannou back to his feet after a standing eight count, Watford native, Joshua felled the former mixed martial arts heavyweight gold holder with a huge, devastating overhand right shot — sending him back to the canvas in brutal fashion, completely unconscious.
Sending further ripples and shockwaves throughout the world of boxing, Olympian star, Joshua extended his winning run to four straight fights, following other recent knockout wins over both Robert Helenius, and Otto Wallin in blockbuster clashes last year.
