Jorge Masvidal blasts Dillon Danis after DQ loss to Logan Paul this is a disgrace to boxing

Sharing his thoughts on controversial grappling ace, Dillon Danis’ professional boxing bow against Logan Paul tonight in Manchester, former two-time UFC welterweight championship challenger, Jorge Masvidal has labelled the pair and the matchup, “a disgrace to boxing”.

Masvidal, revered for his striking ability – and particularly his boxing-heavy displays during his storied professional career, called time on his mixed martial arts run back in April at UFC 287, suffering a fourth consecutive loss in the form of a unanimous decision defeat to former title challenger, Gilbert Burns.

Turning his full attention to promoting and promotion work following his retirement from combat sports competition, Miami veteran, Masvidal has headed up Gamebred Fighting Championships in the time since.

Jorge Masvidal scoffs at Dillon Danis’ boxing match with Logan Paul

And tuning into tonight’s Misfits Boxing: The Prime Card in Manchester, England, Masvidal appeared to take major issue with Danis’ display against Paul, labelling the lacklustre pairing a “disgrace” to the sport and the squared circle.

“This a disgrace to boxing,” Jorge Masvidal posted on his official X account during the co-main event slot.

Ultimately disqualified in the final moments of his six round clash with Ohio native, Paul, Danis, who attempted to wrap up numerous submissions and even a double-leg takedown attempt on Paul during the bout, failed in a guillotine setup at the ropes.

Falling to the canvas, Danis was met with a hammer fist from a frustrated Paul, who himself was pucked at with a slew of upkick attempts, before both men took to the feet, with security members from Paul’s entourage entering the ring.

Sharing a wide array of thoughts on his training partner and close friend, Dillon Danis’ disqualification loss to Logan Paul tonight in a professional boxing match in Manchester, former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor has deleted a post, which appears to show him mocking Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal.

McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the banner of the promotion, has been sidelined from the Octagon since he fractured his left tibia and fibula against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021 in a UFC 264 trilogy rubber match.

And expected to make his return to the Octagon next year at the welterweight limit against Michael Chandler, ex-two-division champion, McGregor was tuning into tonight’s Misfits Boxing: The Prime Card in England – sharing thoughts on both Paul’s fight with Danis, as well as a headliner between Tommy Fury and KSI.

Amongst a wide and varied array of thoughts on the bout and tonight’s action from Manchester, McGregor, 35, appeared to target Agdal prior to Paul’s ringwalk – a subject which Danis had used to drawn-out effect ahead of the bout in a bid to wind-up and goad his Ohio-born opponent.

“Logan, me and her [Nina Agdal], what’s up,” Conor McGregor posted in a now-deleted message on his official X account

Fighting Paul over the course of six, three minute rounds in a professional boxing match, Danis, a training partner of McGregor, ultimately was disqualified in the final round, after attempting to lock up multiple guillotine chokes on Paul, and even attempting a double-leg takedown in the fourth round of their co-headliner.

Criticized for lacklustre showings in the event’s co-headliner and main event, the above-mentioned, Danis was mocked, alongside British content creator, KSI, who claimed he was the victim of a “robbery” in his majority decision loss to Fury in their tightly-contested main event bout.

Tommy Fury lands majority decision win over KSI on the prime card boxing match highlights

Undefeated professional boxer, Tommy Fury remains unbeaten throughout his brief professional career tonight in the main card of The Prime Card under the Misfits Boxing banner — landing a close, majority decision win over YouTuber and musician, KSI — improving to 10-0 as a professional.

Fury, who entered tonight’s main event clash with KSI off the back of a prior decision win over Jake Paul earlier this year, improved to 10-0 tonight against British puncher, KSI, managing to win a majority judging win over the former, after seeing a point deduction in the second round after landing strike to the back of the head.

Managing to hand KSI his first professional boxing loss, Tommy Fury evaded a clinch-heavy attempt and approach from the former, who appeared to implement a bladed-stance approach throughout the six round limit of their fight, offered very little in terms of offence against Fury throughout the bout to boot.

Shouting robbery throughout his post-fight in-ring interview, KSI claimed he would be appealing the decision, before mocking Fury’s gameplan and approach — with the ex-Love Island star also revealing he had no intentions of fighting KSI again, nor Logan Paul, and scoffed at a potential rematch with Jake Paul.

Dillon Danis and Logan Paul fight to disqualification as security storm the ring The Prime Card Highlights

Finally sharing the ring in a long-awaited grudge match, Logan Paul and Bellator MMA welterweight, Dillon Danis turned in a more than lacklustre performance over the course of six rounds en route to a decision — with security stormed the ring to prevent an all-out brawl in Manchester, England — in the co-main event of The Prime Card.

Paul, a professional wrestler under the WWE banner and podcast host, shared the ring with arch-enemy, 2-0 professional mixed martial arts fighter Danis, following months of tension and bad-blooded trash talk created from the latter.

Things between the two reach an almost crescendo before tonight’s co-headlining clash, with Paul split open and dealing with significant swelling on his eye after Danis threw a microphone at him during a heated pre-fight press conference.

However, tonight, inside the squared circle, Paul and Danis circled each other and attempted to counter in a truly lacklustre six-round pairing.

Outstirking a tame, Danis over the course of the bout, the New Jersey native attempted to wrap up multiple guillotine chokes on Ohio native, Paul — and even failed with a wayward double-leg takedown attempt in the four round of their clash.

And in the closing stages of the bout, Danis once more tried to wrap a guillotine choke on Paul, who shook off the grappling ace, and landed a hammer-fist, while eating a couple of upkicks in the process.

With both chasing each other as the referee evaded, teams of security stormed the ring as Paul was awarded a disqualification victory.

Just hours ahead of his professional boxing clash with arch-rival, Logan Paul tonight in Manchester, undefeated mixed martial arts fighter, Dillon Danis was allegedly taking in the city’s festivities, drinking inside a nightclub into the early hours in footage circulating across social media this morning.

Danis, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and decored submission grappler, boasts an undefeated 2-0 professional record, landing two back-to-back submission wins under the Scott Coker-led Bellator MMA banner back in 2019.

Sidelined in the time since, New Jersey native, Danis has undergone multiple surgical procedures to address a slew of continuous knee injuries, limiting his ability to make a return to combat sports competition.

Sharing a tense and bitter rivalry with the above-mentioned professional wrestler and podcaster, Paul ahead of tonight’s Misfits Boxing clash, Danis and the former got into a physical altercation during a pre-fight press conference earlier this week, with Paul suffering a laceration and significant swelling on his face after Danis threw a microphone at him.

Facing-off inside the confines of a glass cage last night following ceremonial weigh-ins, Danis and Paul continued to jaw at each other, as well as punching and kicking the perspex divider in a bid to lay hands on each other again.

Dillon Danis allegedly partied into the wee hours of Saturday morning

And this morning, just hours ahead of his expected ring walk against Ohio native, Paul, footage emerged of Danis seated alongside members of his entourage and numerous women, with what appears to be a platter of tequila shots on a table – with fans speculating the New Jersey native was partying the night before boxing Paul.

“Dillon Danis was in a bar at 1 am in Manchester last night and he’s fighting Logan Paul in less than 10 hours,” An X user posted this morning.

Up against the odds to defeat WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) star, Paul tonight, Danis has been backed by his teammate and friend, former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor to defeat Paul, however, Canadian rapper, Drake has slapped a $850,000 wager on Paul to stop Danis by way of knockout.

Logan Paul and Dillon Danis make final face-off ahead of their anticipated boxing match tomorrow night.

Many predicted Danis would not show up to face Paul for their upcoming fight, but with just 24 hours left, it appears that the fight is on. The build-up has been ugly, the pair have done their best to anger one another with the usual boundaries being ignored.

Danis has targeted Paul’s fiancé, Nina Agdal, and her previous relationships with several other public figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio. Agdal has even sued Danis for some of the photos that he has posted.

Paul on the other hand has made several attacks on Danis’ family and his relationship with his alleged children.

Every time the pair have come into close proximity of one another, it has ended in some sort of shoving match or the need for security to intervene. Yesterday was no different, after a press conference Paul threw a bottle prime at Danis to which the BJJ black belt responded by throwing a microphone at Paul.

Paul would be struck in the face and in one angle of the shot, clearly shook the American before opening a gash along his eye.

Logan Paul Dillon Danis come face-to-face

This time, the pair would come face-to-face it would need to be at other sides of a container in which they could not get to each other.

Paul would wear a balaclava to hide the cut that was produced after yesterday’s altercation.

Paul would also bring out one of Danis’ long standing rival back from his BJJ days, Gordon Ryan. This is one of several cameos that Paul has set up, including bringing out Chris Hansen and a bouncer that Danis had a physical altercation with some years back.

Who wins tomorrow, Logan Paul or Dillon Danis?
