Not surprisingly, the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather rumors continue to be fed by media and fan speculation. One person not feeding the rumors, however, is UFC President Dana White.

In a recent interview on UFC Tonight, White discussed the unlikeliness of a bout between ‘Money’ and the ‘Notorious’ Irishman:

“There’s no reality there either,” White said “Listen, if you look at Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio, (they) were in the same sport and they couldn’t make that fight. You think you’re going to make Floyd and Conor?

“There’s no way in hell.”

Speculation about a possible bout between the two has run rampant over the past week, as Mayweather claimed responsibility for starting the rumors about a possible boxing match with McGregor. McGregor also tweeted a poster for the rumored super-fight on his Twitter page:Ch7YNN4XIAE99S-

While a bout against McGregor is unlikely, Mayweather is certainly expected to step into the ring one last time as he has trademarked ‘TMT 50’ (The Money Team 50) as well as ‘TBE 50’ (The Best Ever 50).

McGregor, on the other hand, is looking to negotiate terms with the UFC for his return, as the two are said to be having dinner together later next week according to White. The Irishman was involved in a bumping of heads with UFC officials after refusing to attend a press conference for his scheduled bout with Nate Diaz at UFC 200, thus leading to his removal from the colossal summer card.

As of now, the ‘MMA vs Boxing’ bout between McGregor and Mayweather will have to wait, but it’s till going to be quite interesting to see how much longer these rumors are fueled in the coming weeks.

In a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach spoke on the possibility of training UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor for his rumored boxing bout with legend Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.

According to Roach the Irishman’s camp inquired him about the possibility of training the 145-pound champ, and Roach was open to the idea.

“No [talk of Mayweather], just to train him,” Roach said. “They did ask me if I’ll train him. I said ‘sure, bring him down.’ I’d like to see [him], meet the guy and see what he has. He seems like a nice guy.”

Roach also was asked if he believed he could get McGregor ready for a boxing bout with ‘Money; however he claimed to not have enough tape on the Irishman’s boxing as of that moment.

“No, I don’t even know what level he’s at right now, I couldn’t say that without working with him. He seems like a good kickboxer. That’s all I’ve seen of him. But as a boxer, I’ve never seen him box.”

McGregor and Mayweather have recently been linked to rumors of a potential ‘MMA vs Boxing’ summer boxing showdown, that Mayweather himself has claimed responsibility for starting.

Mayweather (49-0, Boxing) was last seen in the ring putting the cherry on top of an undefeated professional boxing record, when he took home a unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto last September.

Ch7YNN4XIAE99S-While rumors have fluctuated that the so called ‘retired’ boxing legend has one more fight left in him, it is looking more and more like a possibility that he will meet the UFC’s Irish star inside the boxing ring.

McGregor is currently embroiled in a beef with UFC executives over his removal from the UFC 200 blockbuster event set to go down in July, where he was set to rematch Nate Diaz after being handed his first UFC defeat from the Stockton native in early March.

While both men have teased the possibility of a colossal matchup between the two stars of their respective sports, nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.

Conor McGregor is one of the UFC’s biggest stars in the sport today, but that doesn’t mean he’s liked amongst all of the MMA community. According to The Irish Mirror ‘Notorious’ hired two huge body guards to accompany him during his night out on the town after receiving death threats.

“He told people their names were names were Rocky and Drago and that he’d hired them because of death threats.”

While accompanying his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin, who won the Most Stylish Newcomer award, at the Marker Hotel event in Dublin, McGregor’s new body guards named ‘Drago’ and ‘Rocky’ never left his side.

“Conor and Dee arrived around 30 minutes after most of the other red-carpet arrivals and they were accompanied by an entourage.”

“He’d two huge minders with him for the entire evening and although everyone was in great form, they didn’t leave his side once.”

The featherweight champion couldn’t even use the bathroom without being accompanied by his towering protectors:

“One of them even waited directly outside the toilets when he nipped in at one stage.”

McGregor was apparently seen laughing and having a good time, however fans couldn’t approach the Irishman without first going through ‘Rocky’ and ‘Drago’.

“Conor was really relaxed and in great humour but the bodyguards didn’t let him out of their sight for even a minute. Anyone who wanted a picture or a quick word with Conor had to go through the minders.”

‘Notorious’ is no stranger to death threats after being threatened by one fan following the UFC 196 press conference:

McGregor is currently embroiled in a feud with UFC brass over his removal form the colossal UFC 200 event, and is currently rumored to be in negotiations to take on Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in a blockbuster boxing match this summer.

McGregor’s next bout has not yet been officially announced.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has finally addressed the wild rumors of a potential matchup with boxing legend Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. Rumors emerged this week that the UFC superstar could possibly step inside the boxing ring to challenge the recently retired Mayweather in a pivotal super fight.

Mayweather’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., addressed these rumors first, stating that his son spoke of possibly coming out of retirement to face ‘some MMA fighter’. Mayweather Jr. himself confirmed these rumors as well, stating a bout with McGregor is ‘possible’.

UFC President Dana White, however, is not a fan of these recent rumblings. When asked about the rumors, White stated that they were “completely fiction, this is like bottom-feeder … stuff.”.

One man we had yet to hear from was Mayweather’s rumored opponent, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Until now that is.

McGregor took to Twitter to add speculation to the rumors by posting the following:

While McGregor has not officially responded to these rumors, this picture can indicate ‘Notorious’ is aware of the rumors and will defiantly stir the pot if it means keeping his name in the headlines.

Mayweather (49-0, Boxing) is coming off of a unanimous decision win, in what was said to be his final bout inside the ring, to Andre Berto back in September.

McGregor (19-3, MMA) comes off a submission loss, his first under the UFC banner, to Stockton native Nate Diaz in early March.

While McGregor holds amateur experience from his youth in boxing, the Irishman certainly will be out of his element in a boxing match with a such a high-caliber defensive boxer as Mayweather.

No official confirmation has yet been made on the potential boxing bout.

With all the reports coming out today that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor could possibly step into the boxing ring to take on Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, UFC President Dana White has been radio silent on the subject. Until now that is…

According to the LA Times, White had no idea of the bout until being asked:

“McGregor-Mayweather? No,” he said. “It’d be very hard to pull off. I’ve heard Floyd is on a worldwide vacation on Mayweather Air spending millions in every country he visits.”

When White was asked on weather a potential boxing match was possible or the Irishman’s future, he had this to say:

“Never. We’re his promoter. We’d have to make the fight.”

White called the rumor “completely fiction, this is like bottom-feeder … stuff.”, and also mentioned that ‘Notorious’ has not ever mentioned a potential bout with ‘Money’.

The bout was originally reported by The Sun stating that “Both sides just have to agree on the purse and sign the paperwork — which sources say is imminent — and an announcement is likely to be made in the coming weeks”.

Mayweather (49-0, Boxing) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto in September in what was said to be his final bout inside the ring.

McGregor (19-3, MMA) comes off a submission loss to Nate Diaz, his first under the UFC banner, and is currently in the midst of a feud with UFC brass over his involvement in UFC 200.

The two men have exchanged barbs over the year, however neither side has yet to comment on the rumored boxing match spectacle.

How is this argument still going on? Floyd Mayweather reacts to Conor McGregor’s latest racism remarks, the ex-boxing champion opened a can of worms here…

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, here’s an update in the seemingly never ending beef between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. The retired boxing great lit up the internet with some comments about the UFC featherweight champion, claiming racism was still alive, and that McGregor’s popularity was proof of that. Clearly, these comments were as controversial as they were sensational, and the combat sports world awaited McGregor’s response.

Finally McGregor responded, and he was fired up, blasting ‘Money’ as a jealous has-been and challenging the unbeaten boxing champion to a fight once again.

McGregor

McGregor’s response;

Floyd Mayweather, don’t ever bring race into my success again. I am an Irishman. My people have been oppressed our entire existence. And still very much are. I understand the feeling of prejudice. It is a feeling that is deep in my blood.

In my family’s long history of warfare there was a time where just having the name ‘McGregor’ was punishable by death.

Do not ever put me in a bracket like this again.

If you want we can organise a fight no problem.

I will give you a fair 80/20 split purse in my favour seen as your last fight bombed at every area of revenue.

At 27 years of age I now hold the key to this game.

The game answers to me now.

5. Media instigators/An Garda Siochana.
I apologise for having the air-soft in public. I was simply rehearsing for a potential upcoming film role.

I understand that the more traffic a story can get the more revenue it generates. So I understand and respect that the media must create these stories and these situations even if at times it is at other people’s expense.
We’ve all got to eat. And I eat well.
So I will not complain.

6. My next fight.
What can I say, it’s just another night of easy work for me.

I don’t just own the game. I run it too

It’s not over yet though, as Floyd Mayweather has responded again, and he’s as cocky as usual…
