Disgraced MMA coach James Krause proudly declares that he is $5 million in debt:

Disgraced MMA coach James Krause reemerged online this week, proudly declaring that he is $5 million in debt.

In 2022, Krause was banned from the UFC after an investigation was launched following a massive shift in betting lines just before his fighter Darrick Minner lost to Shayilan Nuerdanbieke via a 70-second TKO at UFC Vegas 64. Minner was promptly released and the promotion made it clear that any fighter who continues to associate themselves with Krause would no longer be permitted to compete under the UFC banner.

UFC flyweight standout and notable Krause fighter Jeff Molina was also suspended in December 2022 after the Nevada State Athletic Commission uncovered evidence suggesting that he was involved with the alleged gaming scheme in a “substantial way.”

Krause, Minner, and Molina remain indefinitely suspended by the NSAC as an investigation into the betting scandal continues.

James Krause promotes his real estate career in latest post

Following his suspension and a split with his Glory MMA and Fitness gym in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Krause has shifted his focus from combat sports to real estate. In a recent post on social media, the embattled ex-coach is offering his expertise to those hoping to follow in his footsteps and find a career in property management.

“I’m in over 5 million dollars of debt and don’t lose a second of sleep over it,” Krause wrote on Facebook before attempting to promote his real estate coaching group.

No timeline has been given for when the NSAC may conclude its investigation, but the problems for Krause and his co-conspirators will likely be far from over once a decision is rendered as they could potentially face financial or criminal penalties as a result of the scandal.

James Krause

Before being banned by the UFC, James Krause went 28-8 as a professional fighter. He retired from competing in 2020 to pursue a career as a coach. Along the way, he worked with a slew of UFC prospects and contenders — most notably former flyweight world champion Brandon Moreno.

‘The Assassin Baby’ cut ties with Krause shortly after the UFC banned the former fighter.

Last weekend’s UFC Vegas 64 main card clash between Darrick Minner, and Chinese veteran, Shayilan Nuerdanbieke is currently under investigation by a United States-based betting integrity firm, after suspicious betting was detected on the bout ahead of the main card fight at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ahead of the bout, odds in favor of a victory for Nuerdanbieke shifted dramatically in favor of a win over the aforenoted, Minner.

As per a report initially from ESPN reporters, David Purdum, and Marc Raimondi, punters and bettors were poised to see Nuerdanbieke not only emerge victorious, but would also do so courtesy of a first round finish.

Approaching the main card featherweight bout, rumors began to circulate how Darrick Minner had potentially suffered an injury ahead of the fight, resulting in a slew of bets being placed on Nuerdianbieke – so much so the veteran drifted out as high as a -420 betting favorite from -220 in just four hours head of the matchup.

Within the opening couple of exchanges come the beginning of the clash, Darrick Minner attempted a body kick on Nuerdianbieke, before returning to his stance and then grimacing and clutching at his left leg.

Darrick Minner would go on to suffer a first round TKO loss

Capitalizing on the apparent injury, Nuerdianbieke closed the distance after Darrick Minner attempted a second kick from the same side, dropping the latter with a knee to the head before following up and finishing the bout a series of ground strikes and elbows just after the opening minute of the first round.

With sportsbooks around the country growing more and more suspicious amid the drastic change in line and money coming in on Nuerdianbieke, U.S. Integrity was contracted, who then alerted state gaming regulators, notifying them of irregular betting patterns and suspicious betting.

“Our goal as always is to notify the industry of any potential nefarious, abnormal or suspicious activity as soon as possible, so they can take action as quickly as possible,” Matthew Holt, the U.S. Integrity president said of the ongoing investigation. “In this case, we hope that by sending a couple hours before the fight started, we may have helped prevent some more suspicious bets from getting through.”

Upon request from ESPN for a response to the investigation, the UFC provided the following statement.

“Like many professional sports organizations, UFC works with an independent betting integrity service to monitor wagering activity on our events,” The UFC said in a statement provided. “Our betting integrity partner, Don Best Sports, a leading global supplier of real-time betting date for North American sporting events, will conduct a thorough review of the facts and report its findings. At this time, we have no reason to believe either of the athletes involved in the bout, or anyone associated with their teams, behaved in an unethical or irresponsible manner.”

Ryan Hall will be competing again before the end of the year.

As per MMA Junkie, Hall has agreed to a featherweight bout with Darrick Minner at the UFC 267 pay-per-view event taking place December 11.

Bout agreements are expected to be signed with an official announcement soon after.

Hall will be looking to return to the win column after suffering his first UFC defeat. The grappling wizard was knocked out in the first round of his featherweight contest with Ilia Topuria at UFC 264 back in July. It halted an eight-fight winning streak for Hall who was previously looking to climb the rankings and enter title contention.

He will have to go back to the drawing board against the unranked Minner who is coming off a TKO defeat to Darren Elkins in July. He was on a two-fight winning streak prior to that setback.

With the addition of this bout, here is how UFC 269 currently looks:

  • Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena – women’s bantamweight title
  • Brandon Moreno vs. Deiveson Figueiredo – flyweight title
  • Randy Costa vs. Tony Kelley
  • Cody Garbrandt vs. Kai Kara-France
  • Priscila Cachoeira vs. Gillian Robertson
  • Maycee Barber vs. Montana De La Rosa
