Floyd Mayweather is ready for war.

On Saturday night, the legendary pugilist’s exhibition world tour continues as he returns to the ring for a hotly anticipated rematch with John Gotti III, the grandson of American mafioso and boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, John Gotti.

The rematch will go down at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City 14 months removed from their first meeting that ended in an all-out brawl after Gotti was disqualified.

Showing up in style, as he usually does, Mayweather was spotted arriving in a bulletproof tank ahead of their sequel south of the border.

Floyd Mayweather’s Exhibition Tour continues with Gotti rematch in Mexico City

It will be Floyd Mayweather’s eighth exhibition boxing match after wrapping up his pro career with a spotless 50-0 record.

Since 2018, ‘Money’ has made stops in Japan, Florida, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, England, and now Mexico to compete against the likes of Logan Paul, former ISKA world champion Tenshin Nasukawa, and Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of English social media personality KSI.

In his most recent appearance, ‘Money’ squared off with Gotti III in an exhibition bout on June 11, 2023. Less than a minute into the sixth round, referee Kenny Bayless put a stop to things and disqualified Gotti III for excessive holding and trash-talking.

Upset, Gotti III attempted to restart the fight on his own, going after Mayweather in the ring and prompting both corners to pour into the squared circle.

The seven-fight main card will air on DAZN pay-per-view for the price of $49.99 on August 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

DAZN can be broadcast directly on your television via Chromecast, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, LG Smart TV, Samsung TV, Apple TV, PlayStation, or Xbox.

Seven years ago Floyd Mayweather battered Conor McGregor

On this day seven years ago — former world champion boxing pugilist, Floyd Mayweather brought down the curtain on one of the most lucrative and impressive professional careers in combat sports — landing a tenth round knockout win over former UFC champion, Conor McGregor in the pair’s ‘super fight’ in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mayweather, a decorated former multiple division and time world champion boxer, is gearing up for his return to the ring this weekend — albeit in an exhibition capacity, taking on New York native, John Gotti III in the pair’s rematch in Mexico City.

As for McGregor, the former undisputed UFC lightweight and featherweight champion has yet to make good on a return to combat sports since fracturing his tibia and fibula three years ago, however, has been heavily linked with an end-of-year return at UFC 310 in a showdown with Michael Chandler.

And seven years ago today, in one of the biggest sporting events in recent memory, the above-mentioned pair of Flody Mayweather and Conor McGregor shared the ring in Las Vegas, Nevada — for a worldwide spectacle professional boxing match in ‘Sin City’.

Besting the Dubliner in an eventual finish, Floyd Mayweather gave up the first couple of rounds on the scorecards against McGregor — who would make his professional boxing debut in his outing with the Grand Rapids striker in the high-profile pairing.

Turning up the pace on McGregor in the eighth round, Floyd Mayweather would almost force a finish in the ninth before forcing the ex-UFC champion back to his stool, and landing an eventual finish in the tenth frame — preventing the bout from seeing a scorecard in an emphatic win.

In the time since, both men have taken very different turns in their respective combat sports careers, however, have both been linked with a stunning future rematch — whether than comes in another professional boxing matchup, or another lucrative exhibition outing for Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III: ‘It's Personal’, aiming for KO finish in bad blood rematch

Seeing his first exhibition bout with John Gotti III end in a disqualification due to an alleged case of excessive trash talking in June of last year, former world champion boxing star, Floyd Mayweather confirms plans to KO his rival in definitive fashion in their rematch in Mexico this weekend.

Mayweather, who ended his professional boxing career back in 2017 following a stunning fiftieth professional win, most recently took on former two-weight UFC star, Conor McGregor, stopping the Dubliner with a punishing eventual tenth round knockout win.

Sharing the squared circle with Rockville Center, Gotti III in the summer of last year, Mayweather’s latest lucrative exhibition boxing venture ended in controversial circumstances – with the duo trash talking their way to an official disqualification result.

John Gotti III wants to KO rival Floyd Mayweather in personal rematch

However, taking on Michigan megastar, Mayweather this weekend in Mexico City in an exhibition rematch, Gotti III revealed plans to end his “personal” fight series with the former with a blistering knockout win.

“I know this is going to be a very tough fight,” John Gotti III told Big Fight Weekend. “I know there’s a lot of bad blood and I know man-to-man, Floyd (Mayweather) wants to settle this as do I. Forget all the boxing and all that other stuff. It’s between me and him. It’s personal.”

“In the ring, it’s personal,” John Gotti III explained. “Outside the ring, I wish him one hundred years of health and happiness. But how would I feel to knock him out? I’d feel great. He’s just an opponent now, he’s just a face. If he comes in the way he came in the first fight, he’s going to get caught. He was very lax and lazy. If he comes in – there was a lot of mistakes he made as well, he’s going to get caught.”

Floyd Mayweather on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: ‘He can continue to steal money’

Former multiple time and weight world champion, Floyd Mayweather has praised Jake Paul’s entrepreneurial skills to lure former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson into a November boxing match – claiming the Ohio native is simply “stealing” money.

Paul, an outspoken professional boxer and social media influencer, turned in his tenth professional victory earlier this year against UFC alum turned BKFC (Bare Knuckle FIghting Championship) star, Mike Perry – stopping the Flint native with a stunning sixth round knockout win in Tampa, Florida.

And now booked once more to take on former heavyweight world champion, Tyson in a much-scrutinized professional boxing match in November, Paul’s skills to apparently “steal” money from fans and promoters is second to none.

Floyd Mayweather talks Jake Paul’s boxing career

“What he’s (Jake Paul) doing is kinda cool,” Floyd Mayweather told Treasure Hustle. “If he can continue to steal money and they match him the way they match him, I can’t knock his hustle.”

“If they can match him the way that they have been, more power to him,” Floyd Mayweather explained. “

Despite his inactivity and time away from the squared circle, Tyson predicted earlier this week how he would land a vicious and definitive win over Paul when they share the boxing ring before the end of the year in ‘The Lone Star State’.

“Very painfully,” Mike Tyson warned Jake Paul during their press conference overnight in New York. “Be in shape. Be in good shape because your health depends on it.”

“I think he’s (Mike Tyson) a mitt warrior,” Jake Paul replied. “The Instagram videos are cute but we’ll see what happens in the ring on November 15. At the end of the day, we’ll see if he’s still got it.”

“Listen, as soon as I catch this guy, he’s going to be running around,” Mike Tyson responded. “As soon as I catch this guy, it’s going to be totally over. He’s going to run like a thief.”

Ex-UFC star Jorge Masvidal setting sights on Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul after Nate Diaz fight

After taking care of a bit of business with Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal has his sights set on a scrap with ‘Money’ Mayweather.

Stepping away from the Octagon following a four-fight losing skid, ‘Gamebred’ will test his skills in the sweet science when he makes his pro boxing debut against the ‘Stockton Samurai’ on Saturday, July 6. Their fight will emanate from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and will be available on multiple platforms, including Fanmio, DAZN, and UFC FightPass.

Jorge Masvidal

Masvidal plans on it being the first of three boxing bouts before he makes his return to the UFC. As far as who else he hopes to share the ring with, ‘Gamebred’ is dreaming big. During a recent interview with Michael Bisping on the former middleweight champ’s YouTube channel, Masvidal revealed that he would like to throw hands with Logan Paul before going after legendary pugilist Floyd Mayweather.

“I wouldn’t mind a fight with Logan [Paul] and just breaking all the pay-per-view records and having more time to box. … And then go after [Floyd] Mayweather,” Masvidal said.

Floyd Mayweather returns to the ring in August for a rematch with John Gotti III

Though Mayweather retired from the sport of boxing following a 50th career win against Irish megastar Conor McGregor in 2017, ‘Money’ has remained active by competing in a series of exhibition fights around the world. His most recent appearance in the ring came in June 2023 when he squared off with John Gotti III at the FLA Live Arena in Sunshine, Florida.

Their meeting ended in utter chaos when Gotti III was disqualified in the opening minute of the sixth rough, prompting an all-out brawl to break out between the two corners.

The two will run it back on August 24 in Mexico City.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III are finally ready to run it back.

Mayweather revealed that the rematch would go down on Saturday, August 24 in Mexico City, a little more than a year removed from their chaotic clash in June 2023.

Aside from the finish, their first meeting inside the FLA Live Arena was fairly forgettable. In the sixth round, referee Kenny Bayless disqualified Gotti III for repeatedly grabbing Mayweather. An infuriated Gotti III attempted to restart the scrap himself, prompting an all-out brawl inside the ring.

Gotti III was slapped with a six-month suspension from the DBPR Florida Athletic Commission. Mayweather was not penalized.

“Punk b*tch, you my enemy for life. [Conor McGregor], we need back up. Bum never put me down or stopped me it was a DQ for no reason,” Gotti III wrote on social media immediately following the incident.

Gotti III later confirmed that he and ‘Money’ had squashed their beef during an appearance on The MMA Hour and were in active talks for the rematch.

Floyd Mayweather continues his exhibition world tour with Gotti III rematch

Gotti III, the grandson of notorious mafioso and Gambino crime family boss John Gotti, got his combat sports career started in the cage, amassing an impressive 5-0 record in mixed martial arts before suffering an upset against Nick Alley under the CES banner 2020.

Since then, Gotti III has transitioned to boxing, earning back-to-back wins against Albert Tulley and Alex Citrowske before scoring the exhibition match with Mayweather.

Closing out his career as a pro with an undefeated 50-0 record, ‘Money’ has stayed busy with a series of exhibition bouts around the world. He’s squared off with current WWE Superstar Logan Paul, Japanese kickboxing icon Nasukawa Tenshin, former sparring partner Don Moore, RIZIN star Mikuru Asakura, and Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of YouTube sensation KSI.
