Chael Sonnen Floyd Mayweather Jake Paul Crime

Former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight title challenger, Chael Sonnen has hit out at former boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather following his altercation with professional boxer, Jake Paul during a Miami Heat basketball game earlier this year – claiming the Michigan native’s attempt to jump the latter could be viewed as a crime.

Earlier this week, footage was released detailing a heated altercation between Paul and Mayweather – as well as a slew of the Michigan native’s entourage during a Miami Heat game, in which Paul is threatened with physical violence.

During the run-in, Mayweather and members of his reported 50-deep entourage confront Paul, who backs away and eventually turns and runs from the situation, while the former shouts and taunts at the former unbeaten puncher.

Sharing his thoughts on the incident, Sonnen, claimed that the perpertrators were “cowardly” and “disgusting”.

“I watch the video and there’s all sorts of problems with this,” Chael Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. “First off, it is Floyd (Mayweather) and it is people with him. When you start to count them on camera, you come out to about four, but when you hear there was six, there was eight, 20, 50 … It makes it sound like there was more, maybe we didn’t see them, alright. All the rest of the story was true, I guess we should believe that.”

“You come out and this is a crime,” Chael Sonnen explained. “This is disgusting and this is cowardly what they did, but it’s a crime. Now you have one of Floyd’s people filmed the crime. That’s your real story. You’ve got to be a special kind of stupid. He films a crime and they intidimate Jake and the one guy says, “Hey, ya’ll. Should we rough him up?’ That right there becomes illegal. Then the guy answers his own question, ‘Yeah, let’s rough him up.” (Transcribed by MMA Fighting

Off the back of the altercation, Paul lambasted Mayweather on social media, offering to fight the former multiple-time and weight boxing world champion.

Jake Paul Floyd Mayweather Boxing Altercation

Footage has emerged over night of former undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul and former multiple-time world champion, Floyd Mayweather involved n a heated altercation at a Miami Heat basketball match, with Paul running from the former world champion and his entourage of personnel, after one shouts “let’s bust him up”.

Paul, a former unbeaten professional boxer, saw his undefeated streak come to an end in Saudi Arabia last month, with Manchester-born boxer and reality television star, Tommy Fury handing the Ohio native a close, split decision loss to Riyadh.

As for Mayweather, the former multiple-weight boxing world champion, headlined an exhibition card in London, England in recent weeks against former Bellator MMA contender and Geordie Shore alum, Aaron Chalmers, as part of his recent string of exhibition boxing matches.

In footage posted by TMZ, Paul can be seen on camera alongside Mayweather and a slew of the latter’s entourage – with a member of the group asking when they plan on “busting” up the outspoken Ohio native.

Attempting to back away from the entourage, which Paul claims was at least 50 deep, the YouTuber then back pedals entirely, and runs from the situation, with members of Mayweather’s team goading him and questioning why he is sprinting away.

“So I’m leaving the Miami Heat game and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere,” Jake Paul posted on Instagram. “Out of some side alley waiting for me outside of the stadium. They’re like, ‘What’s up, what’s all that talk now?’”

“I’m like, first of all, what did I say to you Floyd?” Jake Paul continues. “I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro. Then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me trying to jump me. I’m out that b*tch.”

With talks of a potential July rematch with Fury rumbling on, Paul recently claimed that a wet dream ahead of his February fight with the former Love Island contestant ruined his preparations for the fight – leading to a diminished performance.

Former boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather eased through an exhibition bout with the UK’s Aaron Chalmers.

Mayweather, 46, is still plying his trade around the world, boxing opposition far below his operating level. Last night, it was the turn of former reality TV star and MMA fighter, Chalmers, who agreed to face to five-weight world champion after initial opponent Liam Harrison was ruled out due to a knee injury.

The event had an abysmal attendance with the event being postponed for half an hour in order to attempt to fill up the practically empty 02 Arena. Tickets were also reduced in a last-minute ditch to garner more sales.

As for the bout, Mayweather simply played with his food – extending Chalmers to see the final bell. At times the American would showboat, playing up for the crowd as he pot-shotted the out-of-depth Brit.

The fight would end in a no-decision due to it being an exhibition.

I would like to thank all the fans in the UK. The fans are unbelievable,” Mayweather said following the bout. “This guy is tough as nails; we had a chance to come together. I came to entertain the people, and I’m glad I came.”

“I have a lot of experience. He has to continue to work hard and believe in himself. He’s got a tough chin – anything is possible.” (H/T BoxingNews24)
