Jason Miller

Jason Miller pleaded guilty to vandalism on Tuesday and was immediately sentenced to 364 days in jail.

The former UFC fighter has been in custody since being charged with residential burglary and car theft on August 21. At the time of his arrest, the 40-year-old was on probation for a domestic violence incident.

‘Mayhem’ was originally charged with one felony count each of first-degree burglary, unlawful taking of a vehicle, and grand theft auto. According to court records obtained by CBS Los Angeles, the felony count of attempted grand theft was thrown out as part of his Miller’s plea deal.

After a string of legal issues over the years, Miller finally got some jail time in 2019 after pleading guilty to a felony count of vandalism and a misdemeanor count of violating a protective stay-away order according to court records found by The Orange County Register.

Miller was arrested in October 2018 after vandalizing his one-time girlfriend’s La Habra residence. In the process, he also violated a stay-away order. In a similar circumstance, he was immediately remanded to police custody and sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

The popular middleweight who also used to compete for Strikeforce, hasn’t fought in mixed martial arts (MMA) since 2016 when he was submitted by Mattia Schiavolin at Venator FC3.

Miller has only fought three times in total since 2011 and had lost his previous two fights in the UFC as well to Michael Bisping and C.B. Dolloway.

‘Mayhem’ enjoyed a pretty successful fight career before then. He holds several high-profile wins over the likes of Kazushi Sakuraba, Tim Kennedy, Robbie Lawler and Denis Kang. Miller also shared the cage with George St-Pierre, Chael Sonnen. Ronaldo Souza and Jake Shields.

Do you think Jason Miller will be able to bounce back from his latest run-in with law enforcement?

10 Biggest Post-Fight Meltdowns In MMA History

Check out the 10 biggest post-fight meltdowns in MMA history.

The post 10 Biggest Post-Fight Meltdowns In MMA History appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

From the very beginning, there has been a fair share of post-fight meltdowns in MMA history.

Whether it was MMA’s original bad boy, Tito Ortiz, nearly inciting a riot with the Lions Den after his victory of Guy Metzger or Ronda Rousey going AWOL after losing the women’s bantamweight title, post-fight freakouts are must-watch TV.

The term meltdown or even freakout is a bit subjective. So for the purpose of this list, we will define meltdown as ‘a sudden loss of control over one’s feeling or behavior.’

So with that in mind, we scoured the combat sports landscape to bring you 10 of the biggest post-fight meltdowns in MMA history.

The list starts here, enjoy.

Jon Jones

Daniel Cormier

Before Daniel Cormier became the undisputed “baddest man on the planet” by defeating Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 and thus becoming the first man ever to hold both the light heavyweight title and the heavyweight strap at the same time, he was one of the internet’s hottest memes.

Cormier met his longtime rival Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title at July 2017’s UFC 214 from Anaheim, California. Although “DC” faired well in the early going of the five-round fight, Jones was the better man on that night. He knocked Cormier out with a third-round head kick to regain the title before testing positive for ********.

Sadly, the image of a grown man in tears is what most people remember from UFC 214.

The crying face Cormier meme quickly became the web’s newest way to express one’s unpleasantries, joining the famous crying Michael Jordan meme in the process.

10 MMA Fighters Who Wasted Their Careers

These 10 fighters had the MMA world in the palm of their hands but wasted it away.

The post 10 MMA Fighters Who Wasted Their Careers appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

What if the last day you have on earth, the person you became met the person you could have become?

It’s a heavy question, but if you are honest with yourself, it’s an excellent barometer to gauge how fulfilling and productive your life was, or could’ve been. One of the saddest things in life is seeing wasted talent, or worse yet, watching someone self-destruct right before your eyes.

This scenario seems to play itself out time and time again in sports and is an equal opportunity destroyer of lives. Take John Daly, Darryl Strawberry, and Ryan Leaf for instance. All three of these athletes wasted their careers away to varying degrees and never came close to reaching their perceived ceiling. Unfortunately, mixed martial arts (MMA) is no different when it comes to athletes wasting their careers away.

This year, the sport celebrated its silver anniversary. In that time the growing number of fighters who have squandered otherwise promising careers is staggering. We here at LowkickMMA compiled a list of the 10 fighters who wasted their careers away.

The list starts here, enjoy:

Jon Jones

We start the list off with none other than decorated-yet-troubled former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones.

Jones is still in the process of writing his story, but if history has shown us anything, it’s that athletes that continually mess up usually continue to self-destruct unless a comprehensive lifestyle intervention takes place.

“Bones” makes this list because he is perhaps the best and most recent example of an MMA fighter wasting their potential away. Once considered the unquestioned greatest of all time, Jones is, unfortunately, more likely the butt of a joke than in the running for the GOAT conversation nowadays.

Jones won the UFC light heavyweight championship on two occasions; he would also become the first fighter in company history to be stripped of the same title both times.

Couple that with “Bones” well-documented controversies that include a hit-and-run involving a pregnant woman, multiple failed drug tests, and a seemingly never-ending stream of generally head-scratching outside-the-cage trouble, and it’s no wonder Jones makes the list of fighters that wasted their careers.
