Bellator is continuing to make big-money moves after Spike’s recent rebranding as the Paramount Network.

Previously signing Mike Goldberg, the longtime voice of the UFC and recently signing respected MMA referee “Big” John McCarthy, they’ve now added Jay Glazer to the mix as well.

Glazer previously provided pre and post-fight coverage for the UFC, but joined Bellator in an announcement released on Tuesday.

Bellator President Scott Coker was extremely happy with acquiring Glazer’s services:

“I’m excited to welcome Jay Glazer to the Bellator family. Jay’s knowledge and experience in sports television speaks for itself and he will be a great addition to our incredible broadcast team. As Bellator moves to Paramount Network, I look forward to having him involved with some of the biggest fights of the year.”

Glazer will continue to work as an NFL insider for FOX Sports, but will now be covering Bellator fights instead of UFC cards.

The first Bellator event Glazer will cover will feature some of the promotion’s biggest names, with Chael Sonnen taking on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to kick off Bellator’s heavyweight Grand Prix, as well as Douglas Lima defending his welterweight belt against Rory MacDonald.

Bellator and the UFC have been trading MMA commentators lately, with former Bellator play-by-play announcer Jimmy Smith jumping ship to the UFC just last week.

How will Jay Glazer fit with Bellator? What do you make of all the recent changes to Bellator and the UFC’s commentary booths?

Jay Glazer knows pro football and mixed martial arts.

Glazer is one of a handful of people who have successfully worked their way into the scene of both the NFL and UFC.

And that’s why Glazer believes Greg Hardy moving to the world of MMA is not good for the former Dallas Cowboy defensive end – or the combat sports arena.

Here’s what Glazer had to say regarding Hardy competing in MMA on social media recently:

I would be incredibly disappointed in any of my fellow MMA coaches and any promoters if they took Greg Hardy in and taught him a shred of our incredible sport. Many of us train women in self defense specifically to help protect vs domestic violence. Me and all my coaches at @Unbreakable do and take great pride in that. Competing in any sport is a privilege, Greg Hardy should not be granted the privilege. There are many beautiful arts taught in our sport, none of which should be afforded to him

[VIDEO] GSP, BJ Penn, Renzo Gracie & Matt Serra Discuss Fight Psychology

(Props: fueltv)

Every once in a while, videos come out that you wish were a little longer. Usually, they include this chick. Others, however, contain candid and inside looks into the lives and mindsets of top fighters. A new one released by Fuel TV called “UFC Roundtable Welterweights” is one of those videos.

Our favorite fitness guru and MMA coach Jay Glazer sat down with four legends — BJ Penn, Renzo Gracie, Georges St. Pierre and Matt Serra — to discuss the psychology of pre-fight moments like stare downs, warm ups, and the walk to the cage/ring. Given all the heat and history between most of these guys, it was cool to see them sit next to one another and seemingly enjoy what the others had to say.

St. Pierre, for example, waxed sports-psychologist philosophical about how he turns his fear into courage, and even his two-time nemesis Serra was impressed. Penn gushed about how Renzo was the one guy who didn’t look away from him during a stare down. I guess time and everyone being rich has a way of healing old wounds.

When FUEL TV stated that it will be dedicating a lion’s share of its programming to UFC-related shows as a result of its parent company Fox’s new multi-year contract with the promotion, most of us wondered what the quality of said shows would be like.

If this UFC Champions Roundtable special is any indication, it’s going to be pretty decent.

Hosted by Jay Glazer, the half-hour program that debuted during FUEL’s 24-hour New Year’s UFC marathon, featured a handful of UFC champs — past and present — who reflected on the early days in the sport and how far it’s come since Bonnar fought Griffin on SPIKE TV back in 2006.

Some highlights after the jump.

Some highlights:

• Before TUF Chuck Liddell was barely recognized while he was out

• Forrest Griffin thought UFC was stupid when he first watched it

Frank Mir still had to work full time when he was a UFC champ for the first time

• Jon Jones points to Chuck as one of the fighters who influenced him to fight

• Chuck explains that being a fighter also means changing your sleep schedule to have you at your peak come fight time at 10:00 pm

• Mir criticizes every performance including his title wins

• Chuck called everyone who helped him when he won the strap from high school wrestling coaches and youth karate coaches to family members
