Following the boxing bout that saw boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. finish UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in the tenth round, there has been a second storyline involving McGregor and his future as a professional boxer.

After their sparring session as well as the exchange of trash talk, many fans believe that a bout between McGregor and former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi could be in the works. As a result of this feud, Malignaggi has been beefing with other MMA fighters and fans. Now you can also add MMA commentators to that list.

Longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan took to the defense of the MMA community by letting the former boxer know that he stands no chance if he decides to step inside the world famous Octagon.

During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Fight Companion podcast, Rogan stated that Malignaggi should “shut the f**k up” because Malignaggi has no chance in a fight against any good MMA fighter.

“He should shut the f**k up because if he wanted to have a UFC fight he can go over there and get his brain kicked in,” said Rogan (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting). “He’s out of his mind. Stop talking. You’re a boxer. You’re a very good boxer. Just shut your mouth.

“There’s literally a million people in the world that could grab you and strangle the life out of you, and there’s not a god-damn thing you could do about it. Sorry dude. Don’t talk s**t. They will give you a wrestler, and he will punch your f**king face into pulp, and there’s not a god-damn thing you could do about it. Not a god-damn thing.”

Malignaggi, who is a former two-time world champion in boxing who retired earlier this year, has gone on record by saying that he wants to fight McGregor regardless of money. Malignaggi has taken shots at MMA fighters over social media, including current featherweight champion Max Holloway.

According to Rogan, he believes that this is stepping over the line and Malignaggi doesn’t know what he would be getting himself into. It should be noted that Rogan has made it clear that he is actually on board for a McGregor-Malignaggi boxing match.

“What does Paulie weigh? [1]45 right? How about you give him Ricardo Lopez. How about you give him Yair Rodriguez, how about that? Give him a guy that’s not the top of the food chain. Don’t give him Frankie Edgar, don’t give him Jose Aldo. You don’t need to do that.

“Imagine what Max Holloway would do to Paulie Malignaggi in an MMA fight. Just imagine it. Just try to wrap your head around the kind of a**-f**king he would receive. Max Holloway would literally kill him if he wanted to. Literally, kill him. He’d probably f**k C.M. Punk up.”

UFC Commentator Joe Rogan Says Jon Jones Is the ‘No. 1 F–kup of All Time’

Last week hosted one of the biggest combat sports extravaganzas of all time, but it wasn’t all fun and games. There was a dark cloud hanging over those festivities in the form of the announcement that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed an in-competition drug test for the anabolic steroid turinabol ahead of his UFC 214 fight on July 29.

Many were disappointed by Bones’ latest gaffe, and one of the foremost among that lot was UFC color commentator Joe Rogan. Speaking on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast (warning: NSFW language), he had choice words about the 30-year-old.

“Jon Jones, with this, becomes the number one f–kup of all time, for sure, if he wasn’t already,” he said (h/t MMAFighting.com’s Jed Meshew for the transcription). “This is the biggest one ever. We can only hope and pray that, somehow or another, there’s some mistake.”

Jones’ time in the UFC has been defined by dominance in the cage and non-stop issues outside of it.

In 2015, amid an all-time great run as champion, Jones was unceremoniously stripped of the title following an alleged hit-and-run incident (which was just one part of a series of road-related troubles). He was meant to challenge longtime rival Daniel Cormier for the belt in 2016 at UFC 200, but Jones was pulled from the contest when an out-of-competition drug test was flagged for banned substances. They finally faced off at UFC 214, with Jones winning via third-round TKO, but with this drug test, the result is likely to be overturned.

Rogan is far from alone in his criticism of Jones. UFC President Dana White labeled the news “unbelievable” and wondered aloud if his career may be over due to this latest incident.

Of course, this story isn’t over yet. The results of Jones’ B sample have not yet come back and if they wind up clean, this incident is put behind him (though White himself is not optimistic in this regard). If they come back confirming the initial failure, however, then Jones is facing a potentially lengthy suspension and, most likely, will have Rogan’s label stick in a more permanent way.

Joe Rogan: Jon Jones Has Become The Number One F*ck up of All Time

Last week, a bombshell dropped on the MMA community. That news was that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed an in-competition drug test for his title winning performance over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 last month. Because of that failed drug test, the long-time UFC fighter has been provisionally suspended by USADA pending a full investigation by the California Athletic Commission.

UFC President Dana White told media members last Tuesday night that Jones’ story will make “a great 30 for 30 some day.” Thus, the question of what Jones’ legacy is. Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan is the latest person to sound off on the drama surrounding the UFC champion. During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting) alongside former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub, Rogan talked about Jones’ latest screw up.

“Jon Jones, with this, becomes the number one f***up of all time, for sure, if he wasn’t already. This is the biggest one ever. We can only hope and pray that somehow or another there’s some mistake.”

If you recall, Jones has a history of getting himself in tough situations. Last July, he failed a drug test just days before his scheduled rematch with Daniel Cormier at UFC 200, which forced the UFC to strip him of his interim title. Before that, he was stripped of the actual light heavyweight title when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident that saw the UFC suspend him.

According to Rogan, it all adds up despite the fact that if some want to be skeptical of any one thing. The UFC commentator made it clear that where there’s smoke there’s fire, and at this point, any speculation is fair game.

“Here’s the thing, we don’t know what was really going on now [with Jones]. Now I think we are allowed to have complete, open speculation with zero concern for being respectful. After the dick pill thing you gotta go, ‘Look, man, the dude was partying, he was taking some dick pills.’ Coke, I don’t give a f*** about coke. That’s not helping you. Then you hear about this, and you go, ‘Wait a minute, what is this?’ I want to know what this is.

“This is a weird one because if he was taking what you describe as some short-acting, quick-leaving your system steroid that makes you aggressive, you have to ask how long was he doing this for? Was he doing this during training? Did this amp him up? Did this help his work rate? Did this make him more aggressive and more confident in training. Did it add to his confidence when he was fighting? What is this? We don’t know.”

Cris Cyborg Reveals Why She Didn’t Go Off On Joe Rogan At UFC 214

It’s hardly a secret that newly-crowned UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and octagon commentator Joe Rogan aren’t the best of friends.

Their long-standing beef hearkens back to the aftermath of November 2015’s UFC 193 when an admittedly slightly intoxicated Rogan made some off-color remarks about Justino having male anatomy as he flew back from Australia with UFC President Dana White and roast comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.

But the scene has evolved greatly since then, with Justino winning the recently created women’s 145-pound belt with a dominant third-round stoppage over Tonya Evinger on the main card of July 29’s UFC 214, a bout after which Justino was obviously interviewed by Rogan himself. She took the high road during said interview, however, even though it was a ripe spot to rip into one of her harshest critics.

The dominant champion spoke up about the post-fight situation during a media appearance in Rio de Janeiro this week, telling MMA Junkie that she did indeed anticipate having him interview her, and planned accordingly:

“I was thinking, I said ‘Man, Joe Rogan is going to interview me. I’m going to make some ironic play with him. You know, make all (these) ideas before the fight.”

But even though she may have had ideas about what to say swirling in her head, Cyborg ultimately chose to take the high road and let her title-sealing win do the talking because it was response enough in her eyes:

“It was my moment there. I think him, at that moment, interviewing me, and Dana White putting the belt on my waist, that was a response in itself. I didn’t need to say anything. I think they reflected at that moment. I didn’t need to say anything and ruin a special moment for me.

“We did the interview normally as if he was just any other person there. I’m not saying that we’re going to become friends. But he was doing his job, and I was doing mine.”

Finally, with much of the criticism directed at Justino based on her prior failure for steroids in Strikeforce and a USADA test failure that was ultimately overturned earlier this year, Cyborg spoke up about how other fighters paint a picture of her as a PED-abusing monster in order to avoid having to fight her, noting that she made on mistake and has paid for it ever since:

“Ronda (Rousey) started this, to not fight me,” Justino said. “And then everybody said that. But the fans are smart. The fans know. I take the same test everybody does. It’s USADA. I do the same thing. If you call me a cheater, you think USADA is cheating. You think they’re doing wrong, their jobs, if you think I’m a cheater. Because I do the same as everybody.

“I’m the first athlete (who) signed with USADA one year before I fought in the UFC. When I fought in Curitiba (at UFC 198), I (had already been working) with USADA for one year. When I fought in Invicta I fought girls who didn’t have to take USADA tests. I did this to prove I’m a clean athlete. I made a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes, but everybody likes to judge you.

“I think (De Randamie) wanted insurance to not fight me; she didn’t have an excuse. First (it was) about the doping, after (it was) the hands, after (it was) the doctor, after the family. I don’t know. Any day you’d interview her, she had an excuse.”
