Joe Rogan has been with the UFC since 1997, four years before Zuffa bought the then-failing company for $2 million and brought it to prominence. Rogan is the play-by-play man for the UFC for a reason, he knows MMA top to bottom and he loves the sport like no other.

Rogan isn’t always taken seriously by the casual fan, but people who’ve been around the sport for a long time know how good he really is. His dedication to MMA and the UFC does not go unnoticed.

In this video, Rogan breaks down the UFC 130 matchups and describes how he sees the fights panning out. Rogan knows a lot about these fighters, and his opinions should not be ignored. After all, Rogan is the man who sits outside the Octagon at every event and gets paid to pay very close attention to the athletes.

The main events of UFC 130 and 131 have left many people feeling a little bummed.

Instead of seeing the third war between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, we are now treated to Quinton Jackson vs Matt Hamill as the main event of UFC 130.

With no disrespect directed towards either of those fighters, Jackson vs Hamill just doesn’t have the pizazz of Edgar vs Maynard.

Instead of seeing if Brock Lesnar can claw his way back to the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division, we now have Shane Carwin and Junior dos Santos fighting for the chance to take on current champion Cain Velasquez.

Zuffa can’t be happy with this, because it is a guarantee that 131’s pay-per-view buy rates will drop by more than half.

During these trying times MMA fans are dealing with, what is better than a little humor to cheer everyone up?

After much searching, here are a few videos that should put a smile on your face.

Dana White told MMA Fighting earlier this month that Nick Diaz “could be a big star if he would just calm down a little bit and not be so angry with everybody.”

But UFC color analyst Joe Rogan said on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour that he likes Nick Diaz just the way he is.

“I like Nick Diaz as Nick Diaz. I don’t think he has to do anything different,” Rogan said.

“I think what Nick Diaz needs is big fights. I think what Nick Diaz needs is promotion and big fights. Obviously, I’m biased when it comes to this whole Strikeforce-UFC thing, both under the same umbrella, but what I hope it leads to is super-fights. I want to see Nick Diaz against the very best in the UFC. I would love to see Nick Diaz vs. Josh Koscheck. I would love to see Nick Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre.”

Among the warning signs that you may have won a bullshit decision, we’d think that A) The company being so unhappy that it decides to pay the other guy his win bonus anyway and B) A resulting internet beef on the subject between the top athletic official in Nevada and a shoot-from-the-hip stand-up comedian would both be pretty high on the list. That is to say nothing of the chorus of boos from the live crowd and your own trainer shrugging at you like “We’ll take it, dude,” in the cage after the announcement of the verdict. On their own, any one of those things would be bad enough, but together they make Leonard Garcia’s split decision victory over Nam Phan from last weekend look like an open-and-shut case of judging incompetence.

At the time even Garcia — who seems like a totally likable guy, by the way – admitted during his postfight interview that he didn’t think he deserved to win. Given a day or two to think about it however, he now tells MMA Fighting.com that after sitting down with Phan to watch the fight (awkward!) and then viewing it “approximately 15 times” since, he’s changed his mind. You know what? Fuck it, Garcia thinks he won that bad boy.

If TUF 6 graduate Matt Arroyo’s fighting career doesn’t pan out, he may have a future as an impersonator.

The 28-year-old who was dropped by Zuffa after back-to-back losses has been inactive as a fighter since his last Octagon appearance against Dan Cramer at UFC 94: St-Pierre vs. Penn 2 in January of 2009. He has competed in BJJ competitions since then, but it seems like he’s been spending the majority of his time away from the cage working on ‘is riddum.

More MMA notables’ doing some other impressive impersonations after the jump.
