When he’s not employing his other favorite alternative training method, Rashad Evans is Jedi mind tricks to manipulate matter, proving that there’s something to the rumor that Greg Jackson really is Yoda-like.

Rashad took time out from training for his upcoming UFC 128 showdown with UFC light heavyweight champ Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to work on improving his brain activity using the Star Wars "Force Trainer."

According to the manufacturer, "the toy uses EEG technology to transmit your alpha and beta brainwaves from a head set to wirelessly drive a motor which powers a fan that sends a sphere up a tower." Hopefully for Rashad’s sake it will help protect his brain from a head kick KO or maybe he will be able to do what Lyoto Machida did at UFC 104 and convince the judges that Shogun is not the fighter who they thought won the fight.

Lyoto Machida is taking a cue from teammate, UFC Middleweight Champion, Anderson Silva and adding Actor/Martial Artist, Steven Seagal to his team of trainers in preparation for his UFC 123 Lightheavyweight Main Event fight with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. In the video below, Seagal offers several techniques to add to Machida’s arsenal and advises him where he went wrong in his bout against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua which lost him the UFC Lightheavyweight title, though it appears Seagal may be offering a bit of bad advice with a few illegal moves including throat punching.

Anderson Silva was dominated by Chael Sonnen in his last fight, but maybe that had more to do with PEDs than with Seagal. We shall see what Machida does with what Seagal has taught him…

A shooting that took place a few weeks ago outside of a popular MMA gym in Toronto came very close to ending the life of K-1 and DREAM standout Andre Amade.

Both Dida and his brother Mauricio Veio were getting into the vehicle of a student to catch a ride home after class on the afternoon of October 20 when a gunman shot two rounds into the back seat of the SUV they were sitting in.

The popular trainer of UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was grazed on the back of the head by one of the bullets while another student who was sitting beside him in the vehicle was hit in the arm.

Fortunately both men survived.

In spite of the ten staples he required to close the gash, Dida, who has since opened his own gym in Toronto is still planning to compete on Monday’s K-1 Max card against Hinata.
