UFC president, Dana White has claimed that the organization are targeting a lightweight fight between recent promotional newcomer, Paddy Pimblett, and Jared Gordon for a planned UFC Fight Night London card on March 19. at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Paddy Pimblett made a spectacular UFC debut back in September, scoring a first round knockout win

Recent making his long-awaited UFC bow, Huyton native, Pimblett opened the main card of UFC Vegas 36 back in September, stopping Brazilian striker, Luigi Vendramini with a rallying first round knockout late into the frame.

For Gordon, the New York native is currently in the midst of a three-fight winning run, most recently nabbing a close split decision win over Joe Solecki at UFC Vegas 38 in October. UFC president, White confirmed that the promotion are targeting a pairing between Pimblett and Gordon for UFC Fight Night London on March 19. – during a recent interview with Barstool Sports.

However, despite White’s claims, it must be noted that Pimblett’s manager, Cage Warriors leader, Graham Boyland denied that that pairing against Gordon had been booked, replying, “We haven’t agreed this and (are) still discussing opponents.”

Furthermore, Gordon’s manager, Brian Butler-Au also confirmed that his client had not officially agreed to fight Pimblett on March 19. – tweeting, “We have heard nothing on our end. @JFlashGordonMMA.”

For Paddy Pimblett, a London outing against Gordon appears to come as news to him as well, claiming that Barstool Sports leader, Dave Portnoy had received information regarding his second UFC outing before he himself had.

“My man @stoolpresidente (Dave Portnoy) getting exclusives out of the big man himself @danawhite getting info I didn’t even know yet, Dave u the man (laughing face emoji),” Paddy Pimblett tweeted.

Next Generation MMA trainee, Pimblett is also a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, and recently denied suggestions and multiple claims that he was booked to fight one-time UFC lightweight title challenger, Donald Cerrone at UFC 272 on March 5.

In the same breath as knocking back reports that he was slated to fight future Hall of Fame inductee, Cerrone, Pimblett did note his interest in drawing Gordon – citing the Queens native’s unanimous decision victory over his former teammate, Chris Fishgold – setting up somewhat of a grudge match between the two.

Undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul recently turned 25-years of age this week, and released a list of five goals he hopes to pursue after his landmark birthday – which includes his wish to help professional fighters, as well as continue to “expose” UFC president, Dana White, who he has labelled as a “bully”.

Paul, who turned 25-years-old on Monday, last competed professionally back in December, improving to 5-0 as a professional boxer with a sixth round, one-punch knockout win over former undisputed UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley in the pair’s rematch.

The victory came as the Ohio native’s third of the year, following a close split decision win over St. Louis native, Woodley back in August – which followed a stunning one-punch finish over former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight champion, UFC alum, Ben Askren under the Triller Fight Club banner in April.

Jake Paul has recently issued several barbs aimed at UFC president Dana White

In the time since, Paul, who has yet to pursue a sixth professional boxing match, has issued a series of callouts to the likes of Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, and Jorge Masvidal – even offering to pen a one-fight deal with the UFC if the promotion and it’s president, White, increased fighter pay and offered fighters under the organization’s banner health insurance.

His offer resulted in a firey response from White, who again asked Jake Paul if he would be willing to submit to USADA anti-doping testing for a period of two years.

In an Instagram post celebrating his 25th birthday this week, Paul shared a list of five goals he plans to pursue.

“1) Get better every single day & enjoy every moment doing it,” Jake Paul posted on Instagram. “2) Elevate @serranosisters (Amanda Serrano) & women’s boxing.

3) Help as many kids as possible through @boxingbullies.

4) Expose bully Dana (White) / help fighters.

5) Go to outer space with Jeff (Bezos), Richard (Branson), or Elon (Musk).”

Paul’s attempts to “elevate” both Amanda Serrano and women’s boxing as a whole, comes off the back of multiple reports linking Serrano with a championship showdown against undefeated Irish Olympian, Katie Taylor at a Madison Square Garden event this year.

Aljamain Sterling has revealed his frustration with USADA over the lack of international fighters being tested for any performance-enhancing substances.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour podcast, the current bantamweight champion revealed that there isn’t enough being done to stop fighters cheating. Sterling was also quick to point out due to the nature of MMA and contact-sport that should be serious reprimand for those who do get caught up cheating.

“It bothers me, man, it sure does bother me because you should do jail time for doing steroids or EPO or any type of sh*t like that in the UFC, in combat sports, in general. You can literally rearrange someone’s career, their livelihood doing contact sports, man.”

“This is not like playing basketball, we’re not shooting hoops, we’re not hitting a baseball into the crowd, you know what I’m talking about, you know, we’re of course we’re dealing with life-changing events when you step into that octagon.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda.com)

Sterling would go on to say that USADA hasn’t been testing athletes enough and that given the different viewpoints on using PED’s in other countries he wouldn’t be surprised if international fighters are encouraged to use them.

Aljamain Sterling Set To Defend His Title at UFC 273

Despite his frustration with USADA, Sterling will be turning his attention towards UFC 273 where he will defend his bantamweight title in a long-awaited rematch with Petr Yan in April. Sterling acquired the belt from Yan back at UFC 259 following a DQ victory due to an illegal strike and since that there has been bad blood between the pair.

Sterling has made claim before that Petr Yan is cheating or using banned substances within the sport and has spent much of his time as champion stuck in a back and forth with Yan. Finally at UFC 273 with Yan now holding the interim title we will finally get to see who really the best bantamweight on the planet is.

Who do you think wins in the rematch at UFC 273? Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan?

Alexander Volkanovski Blasts Giga Chikadze After Calvin Kattar Loss

Alexander Volkanovski, Giga ChikadzeUFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski thinks Giga Chikadze got a big wake-up call in his loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC Vegas 46. Alexander Volkanovski, Giga Chikadze

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski thinks Giga Chikadze got a big wake-up call in his loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC Vegas 46.

Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight title against ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273. He was originally supposed to face Max Holloway in a trilogy, but Holloway pulled out with an injury just days after the fight was officially announced and booked.

After Holloway pulled out, Chikadze was one of the first featherweights who volunteered to step up on short notice. But, Chikadze was already booked against Kattar, and the UFC moved on to Jung as a replacement.

This created quite the response from Chikadze, who became hostile in a series of tweets with Volkanovski for allegedly passing him up. Chikadze would go on to lose in a lopsided bout to Kattar via unanimous decision.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Volkanovski criticized Chikadze for his performance and how he handled the featherweight title debacle.

“I think [UFC Vegas 46] was a big eye-opener for Giga,” Volkanovski said. “That, mate, [against] good guys, you can’t just rely on a kick. You know, the Giga kick. It just shows you, you nullify his Giga kick and he ends up being a punching bag. Again just, man, that’s why you’ve got to fight these contenders. Fight all the top guys, guys that are going to mix it up. See where you are before you start facing the champ. You could imagine when you talk about making adjustments, game planning, cardio, all these tools that I have — mate, I would have made him look really, really bad. You could imagine.”

Alexander Volkanovski, Giga Chikadze Went Back And Forth On Social Media Recently

Despite the loss to Kattar, Chikadze is still considered one of the top prospects in the featherweight division. While his loss to Kattar is a setback, he could get back in the thick of things with another streak.

The beef between Chikadze and Volkanovski could appear to just be getting started. These two could potentially meet in the Octagon in the future if everything falls into place.

Do you think we’ll ever see Alexander Volkanovski vs. Giga Chikadze? Who wins?

Khamzat Chimaev, Gilbert Burns

Khamzat Chimaev is not only interested in a fight with former title challenger Gilbert Burns, he wants to make a statement to the rest of the welterweight division.

Chimaev most recently put on another dominant performance against Li Jingliang at UFC 267 and is still awaiting his next opponent in the Octagon. He’s anticipating a return to the UFC sometime in the first quarter of 2022.

One name that has come up as Chimaev’s next possible opponent is Burns, who most recently defeated Stephen Thompson at UFC 264. He has yet to fight since and is looking to get a second shot at the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

During a recent segment on his YouTube channel, Chimaev not only picked a place for the potential Burns fight but also made a big prediction for the matchup.

Khamzat Chimaev Calls His Shot Against Gilbert Burns

“Everybody is talking about me, but nobody wants to fight with me because we kill everybody,” Chimaev said on his YouTube channel. “For me, it doesn’t matter. Gilbert Burns talked about Brazil. I’m more Brazilian than him because my coach is Brazilian. I’m a blue belt under Alan ‘Finfou’ (Nascimento). I know many times my coach smashed (Burns), too, on the mats.

“We are going to choke him out. A ‘Finfou’ blue belt against a black belt. I like this guy, actually. He’s a funny, nice guy. I want to fight with him. But in war, brother, I can’t be nice with somebody. I want to eat everybody. Take my money. Take my belt. I’m so hungry. When I talk about fighters, I’m hungry.”

Usman is most likely set to make his next title defense against Leon Edwards later this year. Depending on how that fight plays out, the winner of a Burns/Chimaev fight could potentially get the next title shot.

Chimaev has title ambitions and is a superstar in the making for the UFC. If he wants to get to the title, Burns seems like the best matchup to make that happen. The two have them have verbally agreed to a fight on April 9.
