There is a reason that the 155-pound division is widely considered the most competitive division in MMA.

That reason is that the depth within the division is seemingly never ending, and the results from UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle was just one example of that.

Two key matchups occurred on the card: Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone vs. Charles Oliveira and Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson.

Both Cerrone and Henderson won in definitive fashion, and now the division has essentially been turned upside down since Miller came in as the unofficial No. 1 contender and Henderson was not even considered a top 10 fighter.

With that in mind, where do Miller and Henderson end up on the revised rankings?

Has Cerrone done enough to crack the top 10?

Take a look inside to find out.

Set ’em up. Knock ’em down.

It’s time for the ultimate UFC drinking game.

Hoist up a glass of your favorite brew, energy drink, nutrient-infused water, diet cola, pickle juice, protein shake, soy latte, Lyoto Machida’s urine…it doesn’t matter. As long as you have it in quantity, and you’re a fan of the UFC, you’re good to go.

And this isn’t one of those theoretical “drinking games” either. It was designed not only to be an entertaining read, but an actual, functional game. Come next fight night, I’m playing this thing.

Take a look and see what you think. As with all good drinking games, the rules are mutable. Got a new wrinkle to suggest? Feel free to toss it off in the comments.

And hey…cheers, mate.

Even though the history of mixed martial arts is relatively short compared to other sports, it is now without its share of legendary characters that rub fans the wrong way for one reason or another.

These fighters, despite being hated by fans, develop a large amount of star power and become huge draws due to the fact that fans will pay for the possibility to see them get what they deserve in the Octagon.

Who are some of these fighters and why are they so hated? Read and find out, but keep in mind it’s difficult to definitively rank exactly how hated someone is. Thus, the list isn’t ranked per se, but generally goes from least hated amongst hated fighters to most hated.

Yes, boring fighters exist in combat sports, especially in MMA.

Sometimes it’s because they take people down and hold them there, sometimes it’s because they pin opponents against the cage for three rounds and sometimes it’s the fact that they’re just so hard to catch.

Now, for some people like myself, guys such as the more-elusive fighters are actually interesting to watch because you never know when they’ll pull the trigger and land their proverbial one-kill-shots on opponents, but if you’re an insomniac and haven’t gotten a good night’s rest since the sixth grade, there’s a good chance that some guys might actually help out with that.

It’s tough to say who would be the biggest cure for insomnia outside of the UFC, but wherever you look, there are guys that are just flat out boring to watch in MMA. The only reason we watch them fight is really in the hopes that whomever they face will be the man to put them in a coma.

Some of the guys you’re about to see will cure your insomnia and there might be some that may actually cause it to linger for some, but all of the men you’re about to see have been accused of being boring fighters.

Would you guys like to meet these five guys?

Every now and then MMA presents fans with bouts that cause an immediate face-palm reaction.

Whether they are rematches, trilogies or “circus” bouts, there are just some fights that should never happen.

Mariusz Pudzianowski versus former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia is a fine example of a circus bout.

After about 30 seconds of offensive effort, Pudzianowski, a winner of five World’s Strongest Man titles, suffered a cardio meltdown that allowed Sylvia to get the upper hand and pound the Polish phenom into submission.

Who could ever forget about the Jose Canseco and Hong Man Choi bout?

The controversial Major League Baseball superstar made it 1:17 into the bout before balling up into the fetal position to avoid any damage.

“Blockbuster” rematches can also make little to no sense.

Former champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz were scheduled to duke it out after finishing their coaching duties on The Ultimate Fighter: Season 11.

While both legends have tremendous pay-per-view draws, Liddell had already defeated Ortiz soundly on a couple of occasions. Regardless of how strong the rivalry is, sometimes you just have to let go and move on.

These were just a few examples, but the best are soon to follow.

Here are five fights we hope never happen in MMA.

5 Worst Referee Stoppages in UFC History

No MMA fan wants to see a fighter injured or worse because a referee waited too long to stop a fight. On the other hand, too much hard work and money goes into a fight for one to be stopped too soon.

In the end, having one of the toughest jobs in sports, referees are human and simply make awful mistakes sometimes. Unfortunately, while they are much safer for the fighters that late stoppages, early halts have a much bigger impact on an official’s reputation because they affect the outcome of fights.

As you read through the five worst stoppage in UFC history, keep in mind that these referees had the best interests of the fighters in mind when they made their unfortunate decisions.
